Dan and Ellie had both finished their letters. The basket was ready for delivery. Danny grabbed the basket and kissed both Ellie's and Dan's foreheads.
"I'll be back before you get to bed. If you could clean up, that would be nice. If you want to, that's okay, make sure you wash up, and you can watch a movie."
"Yes!" Ellie cheered.
Dan nodded.
"Also, you both can have two snacks before bed and either juice, milk or water, okay?"
"Got it, Momma," said Dan.
Danny smiled, knowing Dan would keep Ellie in some order. Hell, he'll probably end up doing some of the chores that still need to be done. Danny was happy his kids were safe for now. He really needs to look for a place somewhere else. Maybe Clockwork would know.
"Okay, I'm leaving now. Please don't start an apocalypse well, I'm gone."
"No promises," said Dan.
"I'll make sure it doesn't happen, Momma," said Ellie.
"Okay, now bye."
Danny turned so that his back was facing them. A green portal opened up. Danny turned back to his kids, waved and jumped into the portal.
In the Ghost Zone
Danny breathed in the natural ectoplasm, contemplating what to bring up to Clockwork first. Well, he had a few minutes till he arrived, unless the tower had moved, which was quite possible. After flying for a while, passing a few haunts, Danny arrived at the front of the tower. Taking a step forward, the door opened. It seemed Clockwork was expecting him. He entered the tower, taking the clock-filled hallways. It didn't take long to arrive at his destination. Danny arrived at the main hall, where Clockwork liked to stay.
"Hello, Danny,"
"Clockwork, good to see you,"
"So what are you doing here, young Danny?"
'You know why I'm here,"
"It's about young Alfred and your current living situation,"
"Yes, I'm just wondering if you can peer at the future for me."
"Certainly, Daniel,"
Clockwork closes his eyes.
"Alfred will be quite fine, and if you're considering moving to Gotham, I would recommend it."
"Thanks, Clocky."
"It is a pleasure, Danny,"
"I'll be headed out to see Alfred."
"Of course, till next we meet,"
Danny nods and opens up a portal to a week after his last visit to Alfred.
