Selene's gaze scanned the room, her eyes widening at every hole in the wall.
What the hell was going on?
Her gaze dropped down to Nikolas, his head now resting on her lap. He had fallen back asleep the moment he had woken up,but not before thanking her for being the only truthful person in his life.
She swallowed hard, her throat tightening.
That wasn't true.
Not even close.
She wasn't truthful. Hell, she was hiding one of the biggest secrets that would change his life if he ever found out.
Shaking her head and shoving the thought to the back of her head, she forced her mind back to the present.
Her eyes swept across the room again.
What the hell had happened in here?
When she'd first seen Nikolas's bloodied hands, her heart had dropped straight to her stomach.
Her brain had raced with several thoughts. But then he pulled her into a hug, and she had felt the need in his hug. A silent, aching need seeping into her from his embrace.
