The hum of the car was steady, city lights streaking across the tinted windows. Tokoyami sat straight-backed, his sharp gaze fixed on the beautiful midday skyline.

Gojo meanwhile sat across him as if we was relaxing at-home.

"I couldn't believe you actually chose Hawks as your mentor as well. I hope we can grow together as students but also friends." Tokoyami said with closed eyes.

"Well, he's got some stuff I'm interested in... not to mention there's a satellite hero safety commission here. I need to pay a visit to them," Gojo said, head leaned back looking at the roof of the vehicle.

It was a long half hour of driving from the airport to their location. Tokoyami and Satoru fell asleep during the trip. As the time flew by, finally, the vehicle stopped abruptly, jolting the two teens awake.

Tokoyami rubbed his head as he looked to Gojo, who was still in his seat.

"Seems like we're here." Gojo said. Tokoyami smiled as he looked out the windows, seeing them pulling up to a sleek high-rise with a sign at the top stating 'Hawks Hero Agency'.

Tokoyami adjusted his cloak, the faint shadow of Dark Shadow shifting across his shoulder. As he made sure he was well presentable in his hero outfit.

"Hopefully, we don't get stuck in duty of paperwork. In the class group, some said they've already started office work." Tokoyami said, the car finally came to a stop.

Gojo smiled, tilting his head. "Yeah, well, definitely ditching that. I will leave it to you, my hardworking classmate."

The two walked up the stairs followed by their driver into the lobby. They stood there, they seeing people walk around, some with mutation quirks clearly seen, holding files and paper.

"Isn't it rude not to show up to greet your guests?" Tokoyami asked, and as if right on cue he got his answer.

"Yo."

A man of above average heights strolled out. He wore a brown jacket with white fur edges with matching pants. His hands in his pockets, that trademark simple grin on his face. The large red wings ruffled slightly as they were folded neatly against his back.

This was the man known as the Wing Hero: Hawks.

"Welcome to my nest. How was the flight?" He came to the two boys, hands outstretched as he shook Tokoyami's hand first.

"Uneventful, I must say, but it is a great pleasure to meet and shake your hands sir," Tokoyami answered formally as he bowed his head.

"No need for formalities; you must be the Tokoyami boy who has that shadow quirk, correct?" He asked.

"Yes, sir, that is me." He said as Hawks nodded before moving onto Gojo with the same hand.

"The so called Satoru Gojo, am I correct? We met before. Glad to have you as well." He said as the two shook hands.

"Likewise Hawks. I remember you at the festival." Gojo said as he put his hands in his pockets.

After the greeting, Hawks had motioned for them to follow him further inside. They followed behind him, passing multiple people on phone calls or writing papers.

Soon the three found and settled into Hawk's office. It wasn't as stiff as expected; plants, books, and even a few beanbags scattered around, but it still carried the air of business.

The wonderful wooden table was neat, with a small fridge next to it, behind it being a large window overlooking the outside with a sliding door off to the side leading directly outside.

Gojo immediately plopped down into one beanbag, soon followed by Tokoyami in the other and Hawks sitting on his desk.

"Your luggage will be dropped at at your place of residence, so in the meantime, boys, can i interest you two in any drinks? Coffee, tea, juice? I'd offer sake, but I don't feel like explaining to U.A. why their students were seen drunk." Hawks chuckled.

After a few minutes, Gojo had a can of soda on the ground next to him while currently drinking the second can. Tokoyami had a cup of tea, and Hawks sat with his mug of coffee.

"So," Hawks leaned forward a bit, his golden eyes flicking between them, "Quirks. I already know the basics from the sports festival, but let's hear it from you."

Tokoyami nearly choked on his tea as he got ready to speak. Dark Shadow materialised and rubbed his back as he coughed out the teabag.

He adjusted his collar before speaking with what little pride he had after the embarrassing moment.

"My quirk is Dark Shadow. A living shadow entity that grows stronger in darkness, weaker in light. Versatile, but difficult to control at its peak." He said with closed eyes, trying to regain his pride he had lost.

'Shadow, huh? Hm, I guess that explains the bird looks... wait, does that mean he sleeps with the lights on?' Hawks' mind went over the information before shaking his head

"Mm. From the festival, i don't believe i saw much of it but I'm guessing it's pretty strong but risky," Hawks nodded. "And you, Satoru?"

Gojo threw the empty can across the room and stretched his arms lazily behind his head as the can landed perfectly in the bin. "Limitless. Fine spatial manipulation plus a couple of other party tricks I got up my sleeve."

Hawks' smile didn't falter, but behind it, his mind whirred. 'Hm, from what I saw, he is more precise than Ryomen... does he have his father's name as his first name?' He realised as his mind worked to already piece together the background of the boy

"Cool, cool. I'll keep it in mind," Hawks said casually, masking his deeper thoughts. Then he clapped his hands together. "Alright, no more desk talk. We're going on patrol."

----------

The city streets were calmer than the two students expected, yet alive with a different kind of energy. Children waved as they passed, some tugging on their parents' sleeves and pointing.

The civilians' smiles were of a kind the warmth heroes often carried with them. Hawks, as natural as ever, tossed a lazy wave, his feathers brushing in rhythm with the breeze.

Gojo walked with his hands tucked into his pockets, sunglasses covering his eyes, while Tokoyami kept his usual stoic composure, Dark Shadow poking out occasionally to wave back at the kids.

"You holding up alright under those shades?" Hawks asked suddenly, tilting his head toward Gojo, tone light but his golden eyes sharp. "You've been wearing them for quite a while now, even back indoors. Everything good?"

Gojo grinned, scratching the back of his neck. "Oh yeah, let's just say I've got a bit of fashion sense." He joked as he let out a laugh.

"Satoru has a problem seeing clearly, or that's what he told us," Tokoyami said in an even tone.

"Eye problems? Should I be worried?" Hawks raised an eyebrow.

"Not at all. Not the sort of eye problems you think. I was anyway planning on getting a blindfold soon but forgot to bug one of the support course kids about it." Gojo shrugged.

Hawks gave a quiet hum before nodding. "Alright. Just checking. Can't have you flying blind if things get messy."

The three moved in silence for a while, blending into the city's flow, at some point the three were jumping building roofs. Gojo warped over to the other side while Tokoyami used Dark Shadow as a grapple.

Hawks flew above them, eyes on the two.boys and the cityscape below him. Suddenly, Hawks' earpiece crackled to life. He paused as he put his hand over his ear.

"Emergency channel. Bank robbery. Twenty personnel, 19 armed, 7 identified with quirks and the leader unarmed but a wanted suspect."

Hawks listened to the information before frowning and flying down to stand beside the two boys.

"You two, we got an emergency." He said in a serious voice, Tokoyami and Gojo immediately paying attention.

"Bank robbery, armed both with weapons and quirks. You both will tag along and, hopefully, handle the situation. I want to see what you've got in the field. Don't worry, I'll step in if things get dicey." He said, his wings spread wide as he walked over to the edge.

"I can carry you both to–" he tried offering them a ride, but Gojo interrupted.

"Take Tokoyami, I can warp, so just lead the way and I'll be right behind you." Gojo said, a bit of his playfulness in his tone replaced with seriousness.

Hawks nodded as he took hold of Tokoyami and with one powerful flap of his wings was already soaring through the air above the city.

For a few seconds, someone could see a faint blue ripple in space as Gojo warped onto buildings, following Hawks, his form blinking in and out of space.

'Warping. Each jump is tugging at my stamina, noticeable, but thank God nowhere near as draining as it was before. Guess that problem's basically gone.' He thought to himself as he watched Hawks in the sky.

Minutes later, he stepped through space and reappeared at the same time Hawks touched down in front of the bank.

Policemen stood around on the outside, people watching as some they suited up and got their weapons ready.

Hawks walked over to who was presumably the chief officer handling this. The two spoke as the two students stood looking at the building.

Ice spilled out from the shattered doors, crawling across the ground like veins of frost.

Gojo's chest tightened. A memory burned at the back of his skull. Clutching at his mother's sleeve inside a bank just like this one. Ice creeped up the walls.

For once in a long while, he felt it. The icy sting of fear. It surprised him as he stood there.

"Gojo."

Tokoyami's voice dragged him back. The bird-headed boy was staring at him curiously. Gojo forced his grin back in place. "You were smiling a second ago. Now your shadow's darker than mine."

"Sorry, just... don't got so many splendid memories about ice and banks." He said in an even tone.

"So that's why you beat Todoroki up every time you two fight?" Tokoyami asked with a raised eyebrow, mentally noting down what he said.

Gojo opened his mouth before closing as he thought back to the times he fought him. "Well, now that's just a coincidence, honestly." He said with raised hands.

Hawks approaches the two with a serious expression. "Us three are heading in, followed by five of their men. We enter, cause a distraction so they can take them out."

The two boys nodded as they readied themselves.

"Let's enter from a higher floor and work our way down." Gojo suggested. Hawks nodded at the suggestion.

"Agreed, let's head in." And with those free words, Hawks, Tokoyami, Gojo and a small group of suited up policemen began their plan.

The group slowly and silently went down the stairs. The only sounds being the soft ruffling of Hawk's wings and soft breathing.

Finally, they came down to the scene of chaos, twelve men in black, weapons drawn, hostages trembling behind shattered counters.

The police SWAT team silently set up their snipers and riffles, getting ready to fire, the three heroes already creeping around the floor. Hawks and Tokoyami having a harder time stepping on the ice, while Gojo flawlessly seemed to be a few millimeters off the ground.

"Alright, alright. We got the cash, well leave through the sewer system." A voice rang out, another group of the robbers.

Among them stood a taller man, burnt scars across the side of his face. Wearing a green trench coat. Slim built, with a height of near 6ft.

Gojo saw him and instantly froze behind a pillar.

Someone he never expected to meet.

Someone who was the cause of his life having a horrible start.

It all came back to him. The bank, the ice, the smug hero who came to save them, the cold dead body of his mother, her feeling her warm blood on his face.

"Gojo, get moving. Were striking in 15 seconds."

"Satoru respond."

Hawks and Tokoyami got no reply. Seeing how he froze behind the pillar. Hawks knew something it wrong.

Gojo's fingers twitched. His entire body screamed to move, but his rational mind begged him not to. Not here.

Suddenly, he vanished. A crack was across the pillar Gojo leaned against as his hand clenched into a fist.

Hawks and Tokoyami tried rushing in but froze, realising that they will ruin their position even further.

"Gentlemen and ladies, I'm glad we all could have done this without any complications," said who seemed to be the leader in a tired voice.

Suddenly a scream rang out, everyone's head snapped to the side where one hand has his head smashed into one beam of the building.

The man put his arm to the side, frost crawling up to his hand.

"Someone's trying to annoy me; must be some brave soul trying to play hero, surrender–" I the middle of his speech, he felt his skull being grabbed from behind and bashed into the ice spread covering the ground below him.

The men were surprised as they looked at their leader's bloodied face, kneeling on the ground with a white-haired teen beside him.

A face full of rage as he looked down at the man before he gave a harsh kick to the man's stomach.

They all pointed their riffles at him and unleashed a storm of bullets, all the bullets stopping just shy of him.

"I hope you remember me because i certainly remember you. I've been waiting to meet you again..." Gojo began speaking as he watched the man before him try to grab at his leg but having the same results as the bullets amd his fingers stopping just shy of him.

He looked up, bloodied jaw, as he saw the two blue galaxy-like orbs staring down at him.

"I think I owe you the experience of a lifetime, Korihoo.'
