Beginning of Chapter

The teams all prepared on different spots of the field, headbands tied tightly to their heads. Energy buzzed in the air as the crowd shouted, stomped, and clapped in rhythm.
Gojo's team stood out immediately. Uraraka at his side, face pale but determined with Kaminari bouncing nervously, still electrified with excitement.
And Gojo himself, lazy smile, blindfold tugged into place over his eyes, hands stuffed in his pockets as if the whole thing were a formality, standing in between the other two.
Present Mic's voice boomed across the arena. "ALRIGHT FOLKS, HERE IT IS! THE EVENT THAT TURNS FRIENDS INTO ENEMIES AND ALLIANCES INTO BATTLEGROUNDS! THE CAVALRY BATTLE!"
The audience roared.
"And look at THAT! Gojo Satoru, our TEN MILLION POINTS MAN, teamed up with Ochako Uraraka and Denki Kaminari! Oh baby, the underdogs are sitting on the jackpot right now!" Midnight commented, again glaring daggers at Present Mic.
Kaminari puffed his chest out at the camera, giving a cheesy thumbs up. Uraraka, red in the face, simply focused on keeping her lunch down as she touched Gojo lightly on the arm. His body shimmered faintly, and suddenly the weight of him seemed to vanish.
'This feels... Weird, oh well.' Gojo thought as he looked at his body
Kaminari crouched, letting Gojo balance casually on before sitting on his shoulders, while Uraraka steadied him from behind.
"I mean I'm tall I guess but this is a pretty nice view I must say." Gojo commented as he looked around, Kaminari laughing.
"You weight literally nothing, Uraraka, your quirk is the best for this event!" He gave the girl a thumbs up as she smile and gave one of her own thumbs up back at him.
"Wait, wait, WAIT A MINUTE!" Present Mic shrieked. "They're not just carrying him, they're FLOATING HIM TO REDUCE HIS WEIGHT! Uraraka's quirk makes Gojo LIGHT AS A FEATHER! Talk about creative teamwork!" Present Mic yelled into the microphone that he yanked out of Midnights clutches.
On the screen, the timer counted down. Every group ready to charge.
3
The people in the stands cheering them all on, althought everyone's eyes were on one team especially.
2
The tension was high, the field was silent as they all looked around at their competitors. The stadium laughed and cheered, though the students… not so much. Class 1-A and 1-B stared daggers at Gojo's team, but none moved. Nobody dared.
1
The buzzer rang, and the battlefield exploded into chaos.
Bakugo roared, blasting straight through three teams at once, explosions lighting up the arena like fireworks. "OUT OF MY WAY, EXTRAS!" he bellowed, ripping two headbands off in a single swipe as he was led by his team.
"THAT'S MY BOY! KATSUKI BAKUGO COMING IN HOT!" Present Mic yelled into the mic, bouncing in his seat. "Man, I swear he's going to blow a hole in the stadium before the round's even over!"
Meanwhile, Todoroki moved with cold precision. A wave of ice surged out from his feet, freezing five teams mid-charge. His teammates barely had to move as his enemies flailed uselessly.
Midnight smirked, tapping her whip against her thigh. "Mmm, efficient. Endurance conserved, maximum area of effect control. As expected of Endeavor's son."
The screens cut to another corner of the field where Ashido shot acid at the ice, melting through Todoroki's frozen barricades, while Sero tried roping down and even dragging in opponents who were captured with his tape. Even the "smaller" teams were shining, each showing flashes of creativity and growth.
The stadium buzzed with excitement at every clash… but when the cameras panned to Team Gojo?
Nothing.
There he was, perched lazily on Kaminari's shoulders like a prince being carried through a parade. Uraraka braced them from behind, cheeks red, but her eyes stayed sharp.
And Gojo?
He leaned back slightly, humming to himself, head tilted as though he was bored of the whole affair.
"IT'S LIKE A SHARK TANK OUT THERE, FOLKS, BUT LOOK!" Present Mic's voice boomed. "NOT. A. SINGLE. TEAM. IS MAKING A MOVE ON THE TEN MILLION POINTS! THIS IS A FIRST IN FESTIVAL HISTORY!"
The crowd roared, some booing, some laughing nervously. After all, wasn't the point to dogpile the leader?
"That's fear right there," Cementoss muttered. "No one wants to test Infinity. And even those who dont know it, doesnt want to test his warping."
Nezu's whiskers twitched as he looked at his tea and put it down to pick up his tablet. "And yet… every festival needs a fool."
As if on cue, the camera whipped to the advancing figures of Class 1-B's cavalry. Monoma's smirk gleamed under the sun as he raised a hand to the crowd, soaking in their attention.
"OOOOH BABY, HERE WE GO!" Present Mic nearly blew the speakers. "NEITO MONOMA LEADS THE CHARGE! CLASS 1-B FINALLY MAKES A MOVE FOR THE BIG PRIZE!"
His horse thundered forward Tetsutetsu with his quirk activated, tanking impacts, Ibara's vines clearing paths. Monoma's voice rang across the arena as he laughed loud enough for half the stadium to hear.
"Class 1-A thinks they're untouchable! And this so called Honoured One? HA! We'll show the world what Class 1-B is made of!"
The audience gasped as vines shot up beneath Kaminari, pinning his limbs shocking him, the entire attack taking them by surprise.
Uraraka staggered as she tried to steady their formation, while Monoma launched himself forward, hand outstretched for Gojo's headband, or so it seemed.
URARAKA, TAKE GOJO AND RU–!" Kaminari wanted to shout before Monoma reached his hand out to the side and came down, giving an auditable slap to the side of Kaminari's face
In the same moment, electricity surged instantly through him, his laughter rising high over the crowd.
Gojo tilted his head lazily, watching him with a smile. "Oh? I think Im in trouble."
Monoma's grin widened, electricity sparking violently across his arm. "YOUR HEADBAND IS MINE, SATORU GOJO!"
The crowd screamed. Kaminari buckled. Uraraka braced, already pulling Gojo off Kaminari to run, before seeing she was stuck, vines wrapped around her feet. Monoma came down with a surge of lightning straight for the blindfolded boy at the top.
The lightning surged, screaming down toward Gojo and his teammates, only to stop.
Arcs of electricity writhed in the air, frozen mid-flight, buzzing angrily against an unseen wall.
Gasps tore through the stadium. The cameras zoomed in tight on Gojo, who now stood in front of his teammates, calm and smiling as if this were all a show just for him. Hands stuffed lazily in his pockets, he tilted his head.
"Oh? Interesting. A copycat," he said lightly, as though commenting on the weather as he ran a hand through his hair.
Monoma sneered, electricity snapping across his arm. "You're finished, Gojo! You touched the ground! You're OUT!"
The entire arena roared in confusion. Voices overlapped, dozens of students and pros alike craning forward, tears coming to those who placed bets on him.
'A heroic sacrifice to save his team...' many of the Pro Heroes thought.
Midnight's eyes widened. "Wait...did he…?"
But on the field, Gojo only chuckled. Slowly, almost theatrically, he raised a finger and pointed downward.
And there he was. Floating.
A few inches off the ground, levitating casually as though it was the most natural thing in the world.
The silence shattered into chaos. The crowd erupted. Entire sections shot to their feet, banners whipping through the air, horns blaring. The sound shook the stadium.
"HE'S... HE'S FLOATING?!" Present Mic screeched, practically swallowing the mic. "GOJO SATORU IS NOT ON THE GROUND, FOLKS, HE'S LEVITATING LIKE SOME KIND OF.... WHAT THE HELL EVEN IS THIS?!"
Midnight blinked rapidly, whip clutched in her hand, before slowly turning to Nezu in disbelief. "Is that… even legal?"
Every camera in the stadium swiveled to the judges' booth. Present Mic appeared suddenly as he shoved the microphone toward the tiny principal like it was a hot potato.
Nezu barely looked up from the tablet screen as he kept on typing. He took a pause and sipped his tea with deliberate calm, then gave a slow shrug, a smile coming to his face.
"Well… the rules only state 'the rider cannot touch the ground.'" He gestured lightly at the screen. "And as you can see… he isn't."
A beat of silence.
Then the crowd exploded again, deafening this time.
Across the field, Bakugo's scream was loud enough to rival Present Mic, his anger in seeing Gojo do everything so casually and the impossible again and again. Midoriya, with his team of Sero and Mina, had his mind flying through the possible answers to what and how he did it.
"YEEAAAAAH!" Present Mic bellowed, leaping out of the seat rows from Nezu. "UN-BELIEVABLE! HISTORY IN THE MAKING! SATORU GOJO REWRITES THE PLAYBOOK ONCE AGAIN!"
Monoma's smirk shattered into pure disbelief. "That's… that's impossible…" he muttered, his team frozen in shock, the electricity around his arms shorting out.
Gojo scratched the back of his head as if embarrassed. "Well, Uraraka kinda shut her quirk off in panic–" he pointed to the poor girl who was leaning over panting from the stressful situation.
"–so I figured I'd improvise. Technically I'm still falling, it's just taking me forever." He grinned beneath his blindfold. "But eh, explaining's boring. Kaminari, your turn."
By applying Infinity's logic to himself, he made it so that he was just slowly falling Infinitely, giving the illustration of him levitating.
Kaminari's eyes gleamed. "With pleasure!"
The boy crouched behind Gojo, arcs of lightning crackling outward in a blinding storm. The blast hit Monoma's team full force, slamming them back in a smoking heap.
"OOOOHHHHHHH! DENKI KAMINARI WITH THE COMEBACK OF THE CENTURY!" Present Mic howled. "WITH GOJO AS HIS SHIELD, HE'S A WALKING LIGHTNING CANNON! I DID NOT SEE THAT COMBO COMING!"
The stadium rattled from the sheer volume of cheers, though among the students, the mood was far darker. Monoma's teammates writhed on the ground, twitching. Others began turning their focus away, because attacking Gojo suddenly seemed suicidal.
"Strategy shift," Monoma hissed as he stumbled upright. "Forget Gojo! Target the others. We'll never touch him!"
His words spread like wildfire. Teams began completely ignoring Satoru's team, clashing and scrambling for points.
Through it all, Gojo simply floated serenely, head tilted back as if bored, occasionally waving lazily at the roaring fans. Kaminari and Uraraka, however, were grinning ear to ear, Uraraka punching his arm.
"You could of done that from the start jerk!" She pouted and to her shock, as well a few individuals who caught it, she actually managed to touch him.
He gave a laugh as he rubbed his arm then pat her head. "Aw, I'm sorry, but hey can you blame me, it was a fun excuse to loom over everyone on Kaminari's shoulders."
Uraraka shook her head with a light blush, still thinking how she actually touched him... No, how he let her touch him.
"Wanna go again Satoru, I mean why not? It was pretty fun using you as a scarecrow. Hell, even Todoroki hesitated before turning away." Kaminari asked, Gojo shrugging before the two boys turning to Uraraka, the poor girl not knowing what to do.
One minute left...
Gojo was casually laying midair with his arms behind his head, Kaminari holding him with one arm pretending to be using him as a weight, right behind him stood Uraraka who was wearing Satorus sunglasses he had kept in his pocket and gave her to wear for the time being.
"We could of taken their headband you know." Uraraka commented, pushing up the glassed and adjusting them.
"Now now, why be greedy, you've got the ten million jackpot right here." Kaminari pointed towards Gojo.
The last minute turned into 'protect your band', people rushing around with their teammates, avoiding the likes of Todoroki, Bakugo and not to mention Satoru Gojo.
'So I can technically counter her Quirk using Infinity. Although that copycat kid... should I really try it out... hope he makes it next round to find out.' Gojo thought to himself
The final buzzer blared.
The chaos froze mid charge as the crowd erupted into a thunderous roar, banners waving wildly, horns blaring. The announcers barely managed to be heard over the sound of the spectators.
"AND THAT'S TIME! LADIES AND GENTLEMEN, YOU JUST WITNESSED ONE OF THE MOST ELECTRIFYING, AND STRANGEST, CAVALRY BATTLES IN FESTIVAL HISTORY! GIVE IT UP FOR TEAM GOJO, STILL WEARING THE TEN MILLION POINTS!" Present Mic's voice was nearly drowned by the audience's cheers.
Kaminari struck a pose, letting Gojo float down to the ground as he now stood with his hands in his pockets as usual next to Kaminari and Uraraka.
Uraraka, trembling with slight nerves for the next event but smiling, took a long breath, steadying herself. "Thank you, Gojo… I don't think we could have done it without you."
Gojo, levitating a few inches above the ground once again, as if he didn't even remember gravity was a thing, tilted his head back and laughed. "Without me? Nah. I just gave you both a front row seat to the show. You two kept the curtain up."
He reached down and pat Kaminari on the back, the man gaining a boost as electricity arced across his body with excitment.
On the giant stadium screens, the standings lit up one by one. The surviving teams flickered into view, their point totals beside them. Aizawa, Midnight, and Cementoss spoke in hushed tones to the judges' box, while Nezu calmly sipped his tea.
"Alright, alright, settle down!" Midnight's sultry voice cut through the noise. "Our second event is over, and those teams with points remaining have secured a spot in the next and final stage! But don't relax just yet, my little darlings, because this is where things get personal."
The arena darkened, a single spotlight falling onto the center as the massive jumbotron flickered again.
"Up next," Midnight announced, lips curling into a wicked smile, "is the Fighting Tournament! One on one duels, no allies, no hiding behind your teammates. Just you, your Quirk, and your skill against whoever fate throws your way."
The screen lit up with brackets, names shifting and slotting into place. Gasps and murmurs filled the air as the students leaned forward, eyes wide.
The brackets stopped spinning, the first matchup flashing bold on the screen, as the stadium erupted all over again.
Gojo have a smile as he looked at his first match. "Finally, a stage that's a little more my speed... Let's see if anyone can even make me sweat."
