Chapter 35 - Chapter 35

Weiss couldn't sleep.

It had been hours since she had lain down in her new room to get some rest, especially after the unforgettable day she and her teammates had had.

Not only had Weiss set foot on an alien planet for the first time in her people's history, but the man for whom her heart beat faster didn't belong to Remnant either.

Considering Vegeta's endless power, it wouldn't be strange to think of him as some kind of deity, even when he claimed to be "just" a mortal.

Honestly, it was all so absurd that it sounded like something straight out of a fantasy book!

And a romance one, too...

Just thinking about it made Weiss blush, hug her pillow, and roll over in bed like a little girl!

It wasn't for nothing that she couldn't sleep, but that feminine, fanciful side of her was only part of the reason.

After Weiss and Ruby managed to encourage Vegeta to try to defeat that monster known as Kakarot without having to throw his life away in the process, and cried watching him cry too, they returned home, but not before he tried to destroy the planet.

Again.

Apparently, Vegeta hated insects and worms with all his heart. While Weiss could understand the sentiment, destroying a planet capable of supporting life was something that shouldn't remotely be considered an option!

Even with what little she knew about the subject, a planet like that must be extremely rare, and according to Vegeta, it was also one of the closest to Remnant!

This was the greatest discovery since Dust!

So instead of destroying it, that planet should be studied and perhaps even considered as a potential colony. If not, then there were natural resources that could be extracted to help Remnant to prosper.

No matter how you looked at it, that planet was an immeasurable treasure!

With all this in mind, Weiss and Ruby joined in combat again by using their puppy eyes to the maximum level to convince Vegeta to spare the planet.

All things considered, she loved the fact that he had agreed without actually putting up a fight and the way he was blushing as he looked at her.

With her senses heightened by her new awakening, Weiss could hear his heart beating harder, and that made hers react even worse.

Even more so after Vegeta said she could keep the planet.

Just like that, Weiss had won the greatest gift of her life; literally!

Even in this entire universe, how many women could say they had received anything remotely similar?!

At this point, Weiss was on cloud nine, but only until Yang interrupted them by asking when the wedding would be.

At that moment, she didn't know who had reacted worse to that joke between Vegeta and her, only that they were both glowing red as they suppressed the urge to throttle Yang for her thoughtless words.

Ruby didn't help either by naively believing her sister and asking if she could be her maid of honor!

While Weiss and Vegeta had grown closer in a way that made her fantasize about the future, they were still nowhere near having "that" kind of relationship!

At least, Blake didn't say anything, but considering the way she was smiling and writing on her Scroll, Weiss could imagine which part of the wedding this perverted girl had in mind.

Not that Weiss had thought about it...most of the time.

In her defense, she was a young woman who had just developed feelings for a real man for the first time in her life.

Everything Weiss was feeling was natural and nothing to be ashamed of!

That aside, after disappointing Ruby by saying that there was no wedding going on, but secretly cheering the girl up by promising the position if there was one, Vegeta returned them all home.

The difference between the worlds was more than noticeable, starting with gravity being less demanding on the body and a greater availability of oxygen present in the surrounding atmosphere.

Honestly, each of them couldn't be happier to be back on Remnant.

So, after giving them a moment to recover from the trip, especially Blake, who would never get used to this kind of teleportation, Vegeta sat down with them at the table to have a coffee and reveal a little more about himself.

What he had to say only served to blow their minds.

However, Weiss was sure he only did that to try to discourage her feelings for him and failed completely.

Vegeta needed to give up on making her give up!

Even so, Weiss would admit that some of the things he said had a big impact on her and her friends.

To begin with, Vegeta was not a prince among several others of his race, but the prince of the entire planet!

The Saiyans were an almost extinct warrior race that originated on the planet Sadala, but that planet was destroyed in a civil war a long time ago. The survivors then conquered another world and named it in honor of the new King Vegeta. Since then, all the heirs to the throne have been named after the planet, and Vegeta was the fourth in the line of succession.

Unfortunately, he was never crowned king because the planet and most of his race were destroyed when Vegeta was still a child by a space tyrant called Freeza.

A monster who was still out there, conquering and destroying entire worlds, apparently.

One of the many freedoms that the most powerful beings in the universe inevitably had.

Merely knowing this motivated Weiss and Ruby to dedicate themselves even more to the training to come under Vegeta's tutelage.

Even after becoming the most powerful person in Remnant, Weiss was nothing on a universal scale, and those capable of destroying planets.

As for Yang and Blake, such a revelation was even more frightening for them, and not just because they were being left behind by not being given any power.

Yang's reaction was motivated by being reminded of her thoughtless provocations and the possible destruction of the planet with those she loved if she had met someone like Freeza instead of Vegeta.

All things considered, she was very lucky.

Blake, on the other hand, was affected by more than finding out about the existence of a monster like Freeza, but by the physical similarities the Saiyans had with the faunus and the fate they suffered after being enslaved.

Vegeta used to have a tail and could even transform under a full moon into a giant ape called Oozaru.

In short, the man Weiss had developed feelings for was some kind of werewolf from another world...

Or used to be, but only until Vegeta lost his tail during his first encounter and confrontation with Kakarot.

The man responsible for the deaths of his loved ones.

Not only had they been in conflict for some time, but Kakarot was also one of the few pure-blood Saiyans left in the universe.

This was certainly one of the revelations that neither of them expected, but one that didn't compare with the kind of life Vegeta had lived.

Under the command of Freeza, who basically enslaved him as a child, Vegeta had spent almost thirty years of his life conquering and destroying countless planets in the northern quadrant of the universe.

Although they already knew this, such confirmation was still something that affected Weiss and the girls deeply.

If Remnant hadn't been located on the edge of the southern quadrant of the universe, literally on the other side of the universe, there was a good chance that this world would have been just another one on that list.

Fortunately, that wasn't the case, and Vegeta had changed by saving an even greater number of lives after he broke out of his shackles, settled on a planet extremely similar to Remnant called Earth, and formed a family with Bulma.

Something that had happened twenty years ago.

Yes, Vegeta was twice as old as Weiss initially believed.

In fact, he was older than her father!

Apparently, Saiyans didn't age like normal people and remained in their prime until the end of their days, which could last almost two hundred years.

Somehow, this managed to make Weiss and the girls forget all about the genocide, for more reasons than one.

Just for starters, such longevity and prolonged youth were enviable traits to have. So much so that Weiss wouldn't have minded being born as part of this warrior race, and Ruby could agree with her, even more so when Saiyans could transform and raise their powers tremendously.

As for Vegeta's true age... Honestly, Weiss didn't care about that. Even more so when she initially believed that he was some kind of deity who was millions of years old.

Now, if Vegeta were human, it would be a different story. Although Weiss likes mature men, someone older than her father would be too much.

Considering that Vegeta was an alien who didn't age and was in his twenties in direct comparison to the life expectancy of a human or faunus, his age was completely irrelevant.

The only thing that bothered Weiss was the fact that she was aging much faster than he was. While she was sure her beauty would last for a long time based on her mother's age, who remained stunning even when drowning herself in alcohol every day for almost a decade now, it wouldn't last forever.

Something she didn't like to think about.

Other than that, Vegeta also talked about the reason he had for living, and it was an extremely significant one.

A daughter, just over a year old, called Bulla.

A hybrid between two different races, Saiyan and Earthling, just like his late son was.

Once the initial shock of this revelation had worn off, Weiss and her teammates smiled to find out that Vegeta still had family left. What's more, they wanted to meet the little princess straight away, but she was under the care of Vegeta's mentor half a universe away.

Weiss didn't know what to think about this, only that it wasn't right for a daughter to be away from her parents.

She was speaking from experience.

Vegeta's situation, however, was anything but normal.

What's more, Whis, his mentor, was a divine entity and the most powerful being in the universe.

Bulla couldn't be safer than that.

Even so, Vegeta said that as long as Kakarot lived, his daughter and all the beings in this universe would never be truly safe, and this raised even more questions.

Apart from his power, which was above Vegeta's, what made Kakarot such a frightening and dangerous being?

Better still, why didn't Whis get rid of this threat if he was so much stronger?

Unfortunately, Vegeta's mood had soured on the topic, and he decided to end the conversation they were having to get back to his training.

No one could blame him for that, especially after he had revealed so much.

So, even though Weiss and the other girls still had plenty of questions, especially Ruby, who wanted to ask something about the disaster she had caused in Vale, they didn't try to insist and retired to rest.

At least, that was the plan, but she was sure that not one of her teammates was asleep, and she didn't even need to feel their energy to know that.

For Weiss, however, there was yet another reason for her anxiety:

The imminent meeting with the Beacon Professors the next day.

Weiss had a lot of explaining to do, starting with her team's abrupt departure from the Academy without warning.

Considering how she and Ruby had helped and stood out during the rescue operation in the residential area of Vale, it wouldn't be strange if Weiss was in the news and...that her father already knew everything.

Even after she had taken another significant step towards power and consolidated her place as the strongest person in Remnant apart from Vegeta, the thought of her father's reaction to her actions frightened Weiss.

Only now could she see the true extent of the control that man had over her.

Apart from her father, what also made Weiss uneasy was her older sister's opinion.

Winter was her everything and the last person she wanted to disappoint, but she ended up avoiding her after everything that had happened during this turbulent week.

I really won't be able to sleep. She was too anxious for that and sat down on her bed after retrieving her Scroll to see what time it was. Almost morning...

As Weiss didn't know when Ozpin would be arriving, perhaps it was better to get up than risk oversleeping.

That and she was hungry... again.

That form I got is strong, but it drains me so fast it's ridiculous. Even if Weiss couldn't sleep, it didn't change the fact that she was exhausted. I have a long way to go.

Just think of Vegeta and the fact that he was training even now, aiming to become the strongest in the universe.

If Weiss wanted to get remotely close to his level, she would have to dedicate herself and train for much longer than the four years needed to become a Huntress.

It would be for as long as her body was able to.

It was a good thing that more than half of all the Grimm on the planet had been destroyed by Vegeta, so Wess would have plenty of free time, as Hunters would soon become almost redundant.

The other half of the Grimm were spared by Vegeta to be used as some kind of task that Weiss and Ruby needed to fulfill as part of their training.

In less than a month...

Just thinking about it gave Weiss more reason to stay awake.

After all, a world without Grimm was within their grasp!

Once Remnant's biggest problem was solved, there would only be the racial division and the rights of the faunus to worry about.

Perhaps I should try to marry Blake off to Whitley? Extremely unlikely, but an option that Weiss felt obliged to consider. It would help the racial division tremendously.

A Schnee with a faunus who used to be a member of the White Fang. Not only that, but Blake was a Belladonna, the daughter of the man who created the peaceful version of that revolutionary movement.

Such a union would take the whole world by surprise.

Of course, at first, such repercussions would be mixed in the best-case scenario and extremely negative in the worst. With time, however, if Whitley and Blake managed to make this relationship work, public opinion would change accordingly.

The problem is getting them both to agree to it... Weiss knew that Blake liked Vegeta, but after being rejected and even accepting such rejection, she would get over him with time. Especially Whitley.

Her brother had an even worse childhood than Weiss, having no one by his side, and ended up following in Jacques' footsteps to get some attention. This resulted in a snobbish, pretentious teenager whom even Weiss had trouble dealing with.

But he can change for the better. She knew that from experience. He just needs some 'encouragement'.

A woman as beautiful and strong as Blake was more than enough to change any man in this world.

Just like Bulma had done with Vegeta.

Thinking about how much a woman could influence her partner's life, even if sometimes not in a positive way, made Weiss smile.

After all, she had helped Vegeta see some light in the possibility of surpassing Kakarot!

I want to go and see him... Weiss was already dressed and out of her room, torn between going to the kitchen to satisfy her hunger or that door at the end of the corridor. The training room.

The place where Vegeta intended to stay until the "Wizard" arrived.

Why would he refer to Ozpin as that? Weiss knew that the Headmaster of Beacon was not normal, having become the youngest and most renowned Huntsman in history. And in such a hostile way, too?

Just one more question to add to the never-ending pile, which was kind of ironic.

Even after so much had been revealed, there was still so much to ask about.

With that in mind, Weiss decided to grab a quick bite with some fruit while making a mental note to restock the fridge because of the monstrous appetite that almost everyone in the house had, before making her way to where Vegeta was.

Taking a deep breath, Weiss entered the training room, hoping to find something similar to what she had at home, and came across what should have been impossible.

"No freaking way..." she found herself speaking like Yang as she emerged from a small temple adorned with two huge hourglasses. "What is this place...?"

She took a few steps forward and looked around at what could only be described as an empty space of infinite proportions!

It even looked like one of those "Pocket Dimensions" regularly mentioned in fiction!

More than that, in the distance, she could see a golden light burning like a sun that emitted enormous pressure, somehow feeling even stronger than what was shown on that alien planet.

"Vegeta?" Weiss kept walking until she came out of the small stairwell and suddenly felt her whole body become heavy enough to force her to her knees! " W-what...is... happening?"

She had to focus on what Ki and Aura she still had to reinforce her body, thus entering her combat mode, but only for long enough for her to make it back to the small temple, which was safe.

After all, Weiss was still exhausted.

"That was dangerous." She was breathing heavily as she recovered from this frightening little moment. "The gravity here is ridiculously strong."

Much more so than on that red planet she had visited earlier.

Considering the Gravity Room that Vegeta had outside, it wasn't surprising that his pocket dimension also possessed such a characteristic.

"Still, this place is incredible." Even after everything she had already seen, Weiss couldn't help but be amazed. "In fact, Vegeta didn't even have to take us to an alien planet to prove his point."

This room would have been more than enough.

"I hope you're right." Vegeta appeared next to Weiss in a flash of golden light and made her jump by letting out a startled cry that could only be described as cute. "That way, I won't need to teleport that Wizard off the planet."

Honestly, if possible, he didn't want to be in the same galaxy as someone of his kind.

"V-Vegeta?" Weiss needed a second to recover from her shock, and when she did, her blue eyes went wide as she focused on this divine man. "You... you're glowing!"

Even more than usual!

If anything, the man in front of her looked like a Ki construct taking on a human form!

"Oh, this?" Vegeta couldn't help but smile as he held out his golden hand adorned in red before his blue eyes. "This is my Semblance."

The power of his proud soul allowed him to break out of the limitations of living flesh and transform his body into pure power!

While this was still somewhat unsustainable in combat because of his small reserves of Aura, once Vegeta managed to balance his three sources of power, Kakarot was as good as dead!
