"Actually, this can't be considered absolute wandless casting. After all, I can't do this with other spells."
"It's just that I'm more familiar with the Summoning Spell. I've practiced it thousands of times."
Dylan gave a casual explanation, not particularly concerned about whether Hermione and the others believed him. After all, who could really verify whether he had truly practiced the spell thousands of times before he could cast it wandlessly? If he said yes, then of course, it was true!
"Thousands of times?" Hermione blinked, silently keeping this in mind.
She resolved to go back and try the same approach. Practicing a spell thousands of times—perhaps she could also achieve wandless casting like Dylan! That was an incredible feat; many adult wizards couldn't even manage it.
"But Neville, you really should be brave enough to stand up to Malfoy," Ron said, looking at Neville.
"Yeah, if Dylan hadn't happened to pass by today, you would have been teased by him again!" Seamus nodded in agreement.
Harry looked at them, then at Neville, blinking twice. "They're right."
Neville pouted. "Hmph, I've almost grown the Flamethorn. Once it's ready, I'll hand it back to Professor Sprout and try to get a Mandrake seed!"
Hermione raised her eyebrows, slightly opening her mouth. "What do you want to do? Neville, even if you're a young wizard, the Ministry of Magic will punish you if you harm someone!"
Neville glanced at Hermione. "I won't grow the Mandrake fully. When it just sprouts and isn't too toxic, I'll cut off a piece of the stem and throw it into Malfoy's bread!"
"He'll be throwing up all day!"
Harry, Ron, and the others were shocked by Neville's words.
Why is Neville so fierce now?
Dylan's eyelids twitched. "Neville, if the professors find out, you'll also be punished. You should think carefully about this..."
Neville seemed to listen to Dylan. He nodded. "Okay, Dylan, I'll listen to you. But if Malfoy tries to mess with me again—like stealing the Remembrall my grandma sent me—I'll make him pay!"
Dylan nodded slightly and said nothing more.
Neville had been studying Herbology diligently for some time now, and he had made a lot of progress under Dylan's influence. Dylan believed that Neville would know his limits.
After Dinner
Dylan didn't go to the library. Instead, he went straight back to the dormitory.
Neville continued tending to his Flaming Thorns, Seamus went off to play with Dean, and Harry and Ron headed to the Quidditch field.
Though it wasn't too late, Dylan stayed alone in the dormitory.
Just as he had hoped.
After taking off his wizard robes and cleaning up, Dylan sat on his bed. Coal Ball immediately jumped onto him.
"Moo~"
Dylan stroked its little head and rubbed its chin, making it purr comfortably.
After sleeping in Dylan's arms for so long, it had lost its cold and aloof attitude. Now, it was much more affectionate.
"You've grown a lot," Dylan muttered, holding Coal Ball in his arms. Though the dormitory was warm, he still felt a bit chilly after removing his robes.
"It seems I need to buy more robes. Though wizard robes have a certain aesthetic charm, they aren't exactly practical."
"But wouldn't it be better if I could just Transfigure all my robes into regular clothes whenever I wanted? That way, I wouldn't have to transform them back every time."
"When I want to wear them, I could just pull them out. When I don't need them, I could put them back into my system inventory."
"That's a good idea—why didn't I think of this sooner?"
Dylan noted the thought down in his mind before looking at the system panel.
After so much commotion, he finally had time to check whether his spell refinement task had been completed.
System Notification
[News]: You have completed the refinement task of the Transfiguration Spell!
[News]: You have activated a new feature of the Transfiguration Spell—instantaneous transformation without lag!
Dylan's eyes lit up as he read the system's prompt.
He quickly checked the details of this new feature.
[Instant Transformation]: When you use the Transfiguration spell, you can transform objects instantly, without any delay. As soon as you think about casting the spell, the target will immediately undergo the transformation you set.
[Note]: The success of the transformation depends on your spell proficiency and the target's magical resistance.
"As expected! This is a powerful trait!"
Even if someone had mastered Transfiguration to its highest level, achieving instantaneous transformation with just a thought was nearly impossible.
Now, he could transform objects directly in his mind. This was practically the same as casting spells without a wand!
Dylan couldn't wait to test out this feature.
The dormitory was quiet, even though noise drifted in from outside.
Dylan didn't raise his wand. Instead, he looked at the inkwell on his table.
Taking a deep breath, he pictured a majestic eagle sculpture in his mind. Every detail—its feathers, its proud stance—became vividly clear in his thoughts.
Then, he focused his magic.
Without uttering a word, he felt the magic in his body surge.
At that moment, a bright light burst from the ink bottle.
The ink bottle vanished.
In its place stood a lifelike eagle sculpture, its wings slightly spread, as if it were ready to take flight.
"Yes! It's exactly like the eagle statue I saw in the corridor when I first arrived here!"
Dylan narrowed his eyes and cast the Transfiguration spell again, this time incorporating the magical properties he had mastered.
A Chain of Transformations
In his mind, Dylan quickly conjured images of ten different objects.
Swish!
Magic instantly surged through the eagle sculpture.
A dazzling light radiated from it.
In the blink of an eye, the eagle turned into a nimble, leaping hare.
But before the hare could jump twice—another flash of light.
The hare transformed into a thick, ancient magical book, its pages flipping automatically.
Then came the third transformation, then the fourth, then the fifth...
Each time, Dylan changed the object without pause, seamlessly transitioning from one form to another.
Finally, a final burst of light turned the transformed object into a beautiful red rose.
But even that wasn't the last step.
With another flicker of magic, the rose transformed into a white dove.
The dove flapped its wings and flew onto the table.
And then—back into an ink bottle.
"Yes! Even with my current seventh-level Transfiguration spell, I can compete with many adult wizards!"
