Digital World – Season 4. Inside the castle of Magnadramon.
"You two…"
Back inside the castle, Magnadramon (Holy Angewomon) trembled in shock as she looked at the scene before her. Her lips quivered, her body shook—because what she saw was simply too indecent to bear!
In front of her were two blonde, blue-eyed angelic women…
BOOM!
Magnadramon shouted, "How could you do something like this?!"
"I'm sorry, it's all my fault!" One of the angels—Moss—fell to her knees, ashamed.
The other angel—Angewomon, who was actually Gatomon in evolved form—had already passed out before Magnadramon arrived.
Magnadramon snapped, "Unforgivable! From this moment forward, you are stripped of your right to live here. Get out!"
"Why… why is it like this…" Moss sobbed, fleeing from the castle.
Nefertimon silently watched Moss rush away.
Meanwhile, Magnadramon raised her hand and released a multicolored light onto the unconscious Angewomon.
"Huh?"
Angewomon slowly came to. She soon noticed her clothes were in disarray and gasped, "W-What happened? Didn't we agree not to go that far?!"
Magnadramon said coldly, "She deceived you. I heard you've had a dark past—how could you let your guard down so easily?"
"What I've been through doesn't compare to this… and I really didn't think it would go that far…"
Angewomon blushed, de-evolved into Gatomon, and asked, "Where is she?"
"I'm right here." Moss, who had just stormed out, returned.
Gatomon glared at Moss with disdain and asked, "I sacrificed so much—did it work?"
"No." Moss checked her evolution panel.
She had hoped the name Zhu Bajie-mon would appear.
But it didn't.
As the name suggests, Zhu Bajie-mon's data was modeled after Zhu Bajie from Journey to the West. In the lore of the Digital World, Zhu Bajie-mon was once an angel-type Digimon who committed a crime that angered Magnadramon and was exiled from the heavens. That was when he became Zhu Bajie-mon.
Moss had hoped that by combining her own Angewomon data with the necessary condition of being "cast out of heaven" (i.e., being exiled by Magnadramon), she could unlock the potential to evolve into Zhu Bajie-mon.
Unfortunately…
Gatomon yelled, "So I went through all that for nothing?!"
Moss was silent for a moment. Then she turned to Magnadramon and said, "Your anger earlier… it felt a little overacted."
Magnadramon admitted, "I was never truly angry."
Partly because she had browsed the dark corners of the human internet—so although Moss's actions were shocking by Digimon standards, they hadn't crossed her threshold.
And partly because she saw Moss as "my savior." So her tolerance for Moss was extremely high.
Even when her best friend Cherubimon betrayed and imprisoned her, she didn't feel rage. She just wanted to kill Cherubimon, that's all.
Killing didn't require anger.
So all in all, it was difficult for her to truly feel angry—especially at Moss.
"In that case, I guess it's not going to happen." Moss sighed.
Originally, she had hoped to gather all four of the Journey to the West-inspired Digimon: Tripitaka-mon, Sun Wukong-mon, Zhu Bajie-mon, and Sha Wujing-mon—to increase her odds of evolving into Shakamon (Shakyamuni-mon).
But if even the most plausible one, Zhu Bajie-mon, didn't work, then the unrelated Sun Wukong-mon and Sha Wujing-mon would be even harder.
And while doing something even worse might truly anger Magnadramon and meet the requirement, Moss was just a bit twisted—not a total lunatic. She wasn't willing to do something that vile.
"Hey! Don't ignore me!" Gatomon jumped up.
Moss snapped out of it. "Sorry, sorry. As compensation—or no, as an apology—let me tell you how to evolve into Mastemon."
"Really?" Gatomon's eyes lit up.
Moss nodded seriously. "You just need to evolve into Angewomon and then DNA Digivolve with LadyDevimon, and you'll become Mastemon."
"So that's it. LadyDevimon, huh…" Gatomon nodded, keeping it in mind.
Magnadramon and Nefertimon exchanged glances.
Did this kid not know anything about LadyDevimon? Or what she represented to Angewomon-type Digimon?
That was pure coded-in hatred!
Unless they grew up together, it was nearly impossible to overcome that disgust and achieve a level of soul-bond strong enough for a DNA Digivolution.
"Come to think of it," Magnadramon and Nefertimon realized, "Kari Kamiya already knew this."
After all, Moss had revealed the Mastemon evolution requirement right in front of her.
Moss really was sly—using something Kari already knew as her "apology."
"Well, I'm going to find Kari now."
Gatomon waved goodbye and left the castle. She passed through an interdimensional gate, arriving in Season 3's Sovereign Realm, then passed another gate to Season 1's Digital World, and finally used a Digital Gate to the human world, returning to the Yagami household to reunite with Kari Kamiya.
The original main cast from Season 1 had returned to the human world to be with their families.
[Status Panel – Moss]
Name: Moss
Species: Digimon – Ultimate level – Free type – Angel species – Angewomon
Skills: Holy Arrow, Heaven's Violet Light, Sacred Bubble, DigiSoul, Spell Reception, Power of Seals, Dragon Ball Ki Blast
Evolution Paths: Lilithmon (50%), Shakamon (1%)...
Reversion Timer: 15 days remaining
A few days later, while building up her DigiSoul reserves, Moss also completed her first soul absorption rituals for both LovelyAngemon and Magnadramon inside the castle.
Since both were angel-types, their skill lists didn't offer too many surprises—unlike Tripitaka-mon's soul, which had many hidden perks.
That day, Moss gave Magnadramon a massage to help her relax from recent stress. Afterward, she prepared to continue her dimensional exploration.
But first, she summoned Cosmic Brainmon, Goblimon, and other Digimon.
"We're heading back to the Season 5 world first."
When Moss first created the Digital Justice League, she didn't include the Season 5 Digital World because she didn't have its coordinates.
At the time she traveled from the Season 5 human world to the Season 1 Digital World, she hadn't yet acquired Mastemon's soul and instead used Interdimensionalmon's powers, so she couldn't memorize the coordinates.
Those coordinates existed only in Interdimensionalmon's mind.
So now she planned to return to the Season 5 human world, memorize the coordinates, and invite Yggdrasill to join the Digital Justice League.
"Will Yggdrasill agree?" Angewomon Lucy asked with concern.
Moss replied, "Given Yggdrasill's personality, I'm sure it will. Don't worry."
Though Yggdrasill poses as a cold, rational computer system managing the Digital World, it showed emotion several times in the anime—especially when it believed in Marcus Damon.
Clearly, Yggdrasill had more emotions than it liked to admit.
And from both a logical and emotional standpoint, there was no reason for Yggdrasill to reject the invitation.
So yes, Yggdrasill would definitely join.
With Yggdrasill on board, the Digital Justice League would become even more powerful!
No matter which timeline or world ran into trouble, help could come from the main heroes, the Four Sovereigns from Seasons 1 and 3, Magnadramon, HolyAngemon, and even the Royal Knights.
In the vast multiverse of the Digimon franchise—who could possibly stand against such a force?
Moss couldn't help but feel excited.
"DigiSoul surge—beyond limits!"
A burst of DigiSoul shot from her palm and entered Cosmic Brainmon's body.
Even though her DigiSoul wavelength wasn't fully compatible with Cosmic Brainmon's energy frequency, a large enough volume could still trigger evolution.
"Cosmic Brainmon—Mega Evolution—Interdimensionalmon!!"
White armor with blue markings, a single eye, and a faintly holy vibe—but with exposed pink tentacle-like limbs beneath, giving off an unsettling contrast.
Magnadramon looked at Interdimensionalmon and thought, "Yup, a mutant-type Digimon. Their power range is crazy."
Some were like Sukamon, dumb and powerless.
But some—like this Interdimensionalmon—could tear open realities.
"Full-body Soul Absorption: Mastemon!"
A magic circle glowed above Moss's head. She donned black-and-white armor and said to Interdimensionalmon, "Let's go."
It nodded, then unleashed a beam of white light.
When the light faded, Moss had returned to DATS HQ in Season 5 Tokyo.
"Uh… where is this?"
Moss dispelled her transformation and reverted to Angewomon form. Looking around, she saw the sky was blood red and vines tangled between buildings.
End of the world?
"Are we sure this is the original world?"
Looking at the ground, Moss already had a guess.
Interdimensionalmon had reverted to Cosmic Brainmon. "Definitely. 100%. Without question."
"Big Sis, the humans are all sealed up!"
Goblimon had discovered a red crystal containing Miki Kurosaki and Megumi Shirakawa, the two female operators from DATS HQ.
"They… they look so peaceful."
Moss took a glance—aside from being asleep, the two were unharmed.
After searching her memory, she realized what had happened—it was the plot of the movie Digimon Savers: Ultimate Power! Activate Burst Mode!!
Though technically a movie, it was only 20 minutes long.
In it, humans fall into a deep sleep due to Argomon's cursed thorns, and Agumon S and others defeat Argomon with help from a Digimon named Rhythm.
The movie's main hero wasn't Marcus Damon—it was Agumon S!
Even the movie's female lead kissed Agumon S goodbye at the end.
Agumon S… and you still say you're not a tamer?
