Moss lowered her right leg and stood tall.
Looking at MetalEtemon's monkey-like appearance, she suddenly thought it would be pretty funny to slap a Restriction Band on him.
"...Too bad I'm low on Awakening Energy. I can't make a second band right now. I guess I'll just help free you from your suffering the old-fashioned way."
As she spoke, Moss raised her left arm.
The feather decorations on the sides of her gloves extended and stretched into a massive bow.
"NO! STOP!"
MetalEtemon's expression changed drastically as he stumbled backward.
Moss smiled calmly, raising her left hand and pointing at him with one finger.
MetalEtemon tried to flee, but the eight Ultimate-level Digimon surrounded him on all sides.
"Damn it...!"
Trapped, MetalEtemon turned back toward Moss, glaring fiercely. He channeled all his dark energy and pointed a finger to the sky:
"Deadly Thunder Arrow!"
BOOM!
A black lightning bolt shot down like an arrow from the heavens.
Moss extended her right hand and caught it.
Her elegant fingers grasped the lightning itself — and she nocked it onto the bow made from her glove.
"Thanks for the arrow, Your Majesty," she said softly.
Her voice was graceful and melodic.
If someone only heard the tone, not the context, they might've mistaken her for a demon queen teasing her king.
MetalEtemon was frozen in disbelief:
"An Angel-type Digimon can control dark energy?! Impossible!"
If it had been a Fallen Angel Digimon, he might've accepted it.
But the Deadly Thunder Arrow was an all-out attack from a fully evolved Ultimate-level Digimon — no ordinary Angel-type could catch that.
Why?
MetalEtemon had no time to figure it out.
In the next instant, an arrow pierced right through his simian skull.
It wasn't just a lightning arrow.
It was black and white intertwined — light and dark united.
A Chaos Arrow.
CRACKLE!!
Dark and holy lightning burst skyward, engulfing MetalEtemon in a storm of destruction.
His body shattered into dust.
"Yeah!!"
The DigiDestined and their Digimon erupted into cheers:
"The last enemy is finally defeated!"
Ten years.
Their mission was finally over.
They could go home.
"…"
In truth, this wasn't the final enemy.
Just a side boss.
Moss retracted her bow and glanced toward Kari Kamiya.
Among them, only Kari had ever encountered the true final enemy.
Sensing Moss's gaze, Kari — ever attuned to deeper energies — spoke aloud:
"Brother… the final enemy hasn't been defeated yet."
Everyone froze.
Tai Kamiya asked, "Why do you say that?"
Sure, MetalEtemon didn't exactly feel like an endgame boss — he was weaker than Machinedramon or MetalSeadramon — but being weak didn't necessarily mean he wasn't the final enemy.
Unless... Kari had seen something else.
Kari nodded.
"I was in a space beyond the Firewall. There was a creature called Apocalymon... or maybe it wasn't even a Digimon."
The group gasped.
Tai's expression darkened.
Kari hadn't just arrived in the Digital World — she'd been somewhere far stranger.
"What happened to you after we got separated?" he asked solemnly.
Kari looked to Moss.
Moss nodded gently.
With permission, Kari began:
"Angewomon and I were banished beyond the Firewall by Millenniummon. After that, we ended up on a place called the Wandering Island — in another Digital World."
"Another Digital World?!"
Everyone was stunned.
They'd heard of parallel dimensions, sure — but Kari had been to one?
Far away, Homeostasis quietly watched from the shadows.
To think one of the DigiDestined had already met Apocalymon... and visited another world entirely.
Another world… I wonder how it compares to the one I govern?
The DigiDestined asked eagerly,
"What was that other world like?"
Kari replied,
"On Wandering Island, there was a huge conflict between humanoid and beast Digimon. It almost turned into war because of a Digimon named Maomo."
Homeostasis raised a brow — what a strange place.
Conflicts between humanoid and beast types? That would never happen in my world.
"Did someone stop the war?"
Kari smiled toward Moss.
"Angewomon brought peace. She resolved the conflict and even helped a savage Digimon named Onismon become a protector of justice."
"That's amazing!"
The DigiDestined and their partners looked at Moss with renewed awe.
"Of course it is! Big Sis is unbeatable!"
Cosmic Brainmon, Goblimon, and other Digimon puffed their chests proudly.
Among them, only Gatomon's expression carried a mix of awe and... something more complex.
"I'm Angewomon too," she thought. "I can protect Kari too. That place beside her — it should've been mine."
Kari continued describing her adventures — including her time in yet another Digital World's Dark Area.
There, the Three Great Angels were defeated by two Royal Knights.
She hadn't seen the battle herself, but the aftermath said enough.
"Three Archangels and Royal Knights?! That sounds powerful!"
Later, the Ten Legendary Warriors joined forces to defeat the Royal Knights — that part Kari saw with her own eyes.
"Wait, the DigiDestined in that world became Digimon?!"
Then Lucemon appeared, corrupted, and overwhelmed the warriors.
"An angel can fall?!"
"Lucemon's power is insane!"
And finally — Moss defeated Lucemon.
By this point, no one was even surprised.
After the Millenniummon incident, it felt normal for Moss to defeat anyone.
Only SaberLeomon and Homeostasis — who hadn't seen those events — were truly shocked.
Lucemon's power had been pushed beyond reason... and Moss still defeated him?
Homeostasis whispered inwardly:
"How powerful is she really? For an Angewomon, this is too much…"
Kari continued:
"After that, Sacred Angewomon began restoring order to that world. Then Angewomon and I searched for a way home — we traveled through several worlds and even met two other versions of my brother."
"Two…?"
Everyone turned to Tai.
"Wait — brothers?" Tai blinked.
"From parallel worlds," Kari said.
Izzy asked, "You mean... two versions of Tai?"
Kari nodded.
Tai laughed nervously,
"Wow… I'd like to meet them."
"You can," Kari replied.
"Huh?"
Everyone stared.
"You can meet one of them — the one partnered with Veedramon. We lost track of the other."
"Veedramon?" Agumon blinked.
So in a parallel world, Tai's partner wasn't Agumon?
Kari explained:
"One of them still had Agumon as a partner. The other had Veedramon — named Zeromaru. But Zeromaru also evolved from Agumon."
Agumon smiled with relief.
"Ah, I see!"
Kari continued,
"Then Angewomon and I found another Digital World — one threatened by Daemon."
She explained:
Daemon — the Digimon Grim Reaper.
Just hearing the name made everyone shiver.
Even Homeostasis felt unsettled.
The DigiDestined quickly turned to Moss:
"What happened to Daemon?"
Moss stepped forward.
"I lured him beyond the Firewall. He's currently fighting Apocalymon. Neither of them is easy to defeat."
Everyone nodded.
That made sense.
Lucemon had been killable — but Daemon?
That wasn't a normal Digimon.
Still — getting Apocalymon to fight Daemon? That was genius.
Moss added,
"To prepare for Daemon's return, I founded a Digital Justice League — uniting the Four Holy Beasts, Sacred Angewomon, and HolyAngemon. Would you all like to join?"
The DigiDestined looked at one another and smiled.
"Count us in."
"Great. Let's get you registered."
Moss activated her Soul Reception Magic.
A magic circle lit above her head, and armor of black and white wrapped around her — light and dark unified.
Kari explained,
"This is Mastemon — a fusion of light and dark. It's also how she gained the power to open dimensional gates."
Gatomon's ears twitched. She looked at Moss and thought:
"So… this is the form Kari wanted me to evolve into someday. Kari… I'll keep trying!"
Someday, I'll become Mastemon too!
Moss prepared to use her Chaos Descent technique to open the dimensional gate.
"Wait!" Tai suddenly called.
The others blinked.
"What's wrong?"
Tai said,
"If we leave now and come back later, time might move differently here. Months could pass."
The group chuckled.
"Right — we forgot! This world has a time distortion. We need all eight Crests to stabilize it."
They knew this well — after all, they'd spent ten years here.
Before, they only had seven Crests.
And the Dark Masters were still active, ready to destroy the balance even if they fixed it.
Their plan had always been to wait for the eighth DigiDestined, defeat the Dark Masters, and then eliminate the distortion together.
Tai asked,
"Kari — do you have your Crest?"
Kari held only her Digivice… so she turned to Gatomon.
Gatomon looked at Wizardmon.
Wizardmon pulled the Crest of Light from his cloak.
Tai said,
"Just having it isn't enough. It needs to shine. It took me a long time to get mine to—"
He stopped.
Because the moment Kari touched it, the Crest shone like a stadium spotlight.
"Whoa — that's bright!"
Everyone shielded their eyes.
Except Moss — her mask had built-in sunglasses.
Homeostasis watched with narrowed eyes.
"This child is different. The others carry spiritual traits… but hers — hers includes something else. Something innate."
Still — that light was ridiculous.
"Ahem. In any case, the eight Crests are finally assembled."
Tai steadied himself and raised his Crest high.
The others followed:
Courage. Friendship. Love. Knowledge. Purity. Sincerity. Hope. Light.
Homeostasis activated a hidden mechanism.
The eight Crests flew outward, embedding themselves in eight corners of the Digital World — dissolving the distortion.
A new surge of life swept across the land.
"Alright. Time to register."
Moss opened a gate to the realm of the Four Holy Beasts — the core of the third Digital World — and led them beneath the Arclight Terminal to receive their accounts.
Each DigiDestined also received a Mini Arclight Device as proof of their bond with their partner Digimon.
"Finally…" Kari whispered, clutching hers.
"I've got one…"
But hers wasn't the result of her bond with Moss — it came from her bond with Gatomon.
She quickly pushed the thought away.
Can't think like that. It would hurt Gatomon's feelings.
She shook her head, clearing her thoughts.
"Hmm?" Gatomon blinked.
"Moss," Kari said quietly.
Moss looked over, smiling.
She crouched beside Gatomon and whispered,
"The ruler of this world is Sacred Angewomon. Let's go visit her together later — the three of us Angewomon can swap evolution tips."
"Huh? O-oh, okay!"
Gatomon was stunned but nodded eagerly.
Dimensional gates made travel easy, after all.
And learning evolution tips from Moss?
That would be invaluable.
