Chapter 112 - Kari – One Brother, Two Brothers

Whooosh—!

A fierce wind howled.

A group of Digimon descended from the sky.

Waspmon, Impmon... Though just Champion-level lackeys, their numbers turned them into a disaster when swarming together.

And right at the center of this storm—was Tai Kamiya!

Kari felt a rush of panic in her chest and pleaded, "Angewomon, please help that big brother."

Moss smiled faintly, "Kari, don't underestimate that Tai."

That Tai comes from Digimon Adventure V-Tamer 01—and he's strong!

His partner is a Veemon, a Champion-level Mythical Dragon-type.

Even a standard Veemon is already powerful among Champion-level Digimon—but the Veemon by Tai's side is even stronger.

Beneath that round, plump body lies a power far beyond its peers. Though still Champion level, it holds the strength rivaling many Ultimates.

Right now, data streams surged around it, and that once-chubby body grew taller, bulkier, and majestic. A pair of large dragon wings extended from its back.

AeroVeemon!

Vaccine attribute. Ultimate level. Holy Dragon Digimon.

In a flash, AeroVeemon dove into the enemy horde. Under Tai's command, it cut through them like a blade—right fist smashing an Impmon, left fist knocking a Waspmon flying.

Smash! Smash! Smash!

In no time at all, the dozens of enemy Digimon were wiped out.

"So cool!" Kari exclaimed in awe.

A true war god!

Moss turned her head as if sensing something. After opening so many dimensional gates using Chaos Downgrade, her sensitivity to space-time fluctuations had sharpened. Just now, she sensed something not far away.

Someone else had crossed over?

Indeed.

Seeing who it was, Moss chuckled. "Kari, look over there."

Kari followed her finger and gasped. "...Tai?!"

Over in the distance were two figures—one big, one small. The big one was Tai Kamiya. The small one was Agumon.

"No... wait."

Kari shook her head. Although he looked similar to her brother, there were subtle differences—his aura, his clothes.

That wasn't her brother.

Moss muttered, "Looks like he's from the reboot version."

That Tai and Agumon weren't from the original series—they were from the reboot universe, often called the "colon" series (Digimon Adventure:).

"Oh no!"

From Moss and Kari's vantage point, they could see two massive shadows sneaking up behind that Tai and Agumon.

One was a giant humanoid octopus with bat-like wings—Dagomon!

Virus type, Ultimate level, Aquatic Beastman.

The other was a serpent with mechanical arms and metal wings—Gigadramon!

Virus type, Ultimate level, Cyborg Digimon.

"It's that guy again," Moss narrowed her gaze at Dagomon.

They'd seen a shadow of it in the Dark Ocean not long ago. And now—again.

What fate!

Though, this time, Dagomon looked more like a weakling than some ancient deity.

Dagomon and Gigadramon rushed toward AeroVeemon—but Tai had already noticed.

"There's two incoming on the side!"

Without hesitation, AeroVeemon turned and unleashed a V-Breath Arrow.

A brilliant stream of blue-white heat burst from his mouth, slicing through both threats in an instant.

"Whoa!" Kari gasped.

"I told you," Moss grinned.

That V-Breath Arrow wasn't even AeroVeemon's special move anymore—it was just a leftover trick from his Champion days. For an Ultimate like AeroVeemon, it was nothing more than a normal attack.

And even so—it had destroyed two Ultimates. That showed just how powerful AeroVeemon really was.

"Come on, let's go say hi."

Moss flew over with Kari.

There, they met two Tai Kamiya.

Let's call them Tamer Tai (from V-Tamer) and Colon Tai (from the reboot).

"TK?!"

Colon Tai's jaw dropped when he saw Kari arrive. He glanced at Tamer Tai—utterly stunned.

"Why are there two of me? And... TK's here too?!"

Colon Tai scratched his head, mind spinning.

Tamer Tai, however, quickly figured it out: "Ah, I see. You must be me—from a parallel world."

He ran up and hugged Colon Tai, grinning. "I've been waiting for you!"

"Don't get so close!" Colon Tai flailed and pushed him away, flustered.

Tamer Tai wasn't bothered. He grabbed Veemon's arm and the two began spinning and dancing happily, filling the air with cheer.

"..." Colon Tai and Agumon were at a loss for words.

What was that?

Watching someone who looked just like him break into a dance out of nowhere... Colon Tai felt awkward just looking at it.

He turned to Kari and asked, "TK, why are you here?"

Moss answered, "Actually, she's not your sister."

Kari smiled shyly.

"What do you mean? That's obviously TK—" Colon Tai paused. Looking closer, he saw the differences.

Tamer Tai finished his dance and walked over. "There's more than one world. There are lots of different worlds, with lots of different Tai Kamiya."

Veemon—named Zero—added, "That's called a parallel world. We found out while fighting Digimon from other dimensions."

Tamer Tai chuckled at the memory. "That sure was a shock."

Zero nodded earnestly. "Yup!"

"Parallel worlds?" Colon Tai repeated, slowly getting it. He turned to Kari, "So... you're TK from another world."

Kari nodded.

Tamer Tai looked curious. "Wait, you two know each other?"

Moss explained, "This is Kari Kamiya, Tai's biological sister."

Colon Tai frowned and looked at Tamer Tai. "But I thought parallel worlds had the same people? You don't know TK?"

"..."

Tamer Tai twitched.

Why did that feel like a loss?

Looking at the slightly shorter version of himself, Tamer Tai asked, "Hey, what grade are you in?"

"Fifth," Colon Tai said.

"I'm in sixth! That means I'm your senpai!" Tamer Tai flashed a smug grin.

No sister? No problem—he'd win on grade level!

"Yay!" He threw a tiny fist in the air.

Colon Tai's eye twitched. "Why does that annoy me so much?!"

"Hehehe..." Kari giggled.

What a rare sight.

The two Tai's laughed too, then introduced themselves properly.

More importantly—they shared information about the current situation.

"I was summoned to save this Digital World by Seraphimon. After we defeated the major threats and restored peace, a new danger emerged."

Tamer Tai pointed to a black, massive diamond-like polyhedron floating in the sky.

"What's that?" Colon Tai gasped.

"That's the real problem..."

Tamer Tai explained how modern human technology—viruses, scams, cyber-attacks, rogue AI—manifested in the Digital World as that black polyhedron. Each side of it reflected a different world.

The evil from across dimensions birthed these Digimon—and sent them here to destroy everything.

Moss summed it up: "So basically, it's an interdimensional polyhedron."

Tamer Tai nodded seriously. "Whatever it's called, we need to destroy it. But with just me and Zero, all we can do is keep fighting the Digimon it releases. We can't destroy the core."

These Digimon came in waves—Champions, some Ultimates, rarely a Mega.

Fighting them wasn't hard.

But the numbers... they were endless.

This Digital World had only two protectors left—Tamer Tai and Veemon Zero.

"..." Colon Tai finally understood the seriousness of the situation.

Moss asked, "Not even your Future Mode can destroy it?"

In V-Tamer, there was a Digimon called Arkadimon.

In its infancy, it defeated a weakened Piedmon.

In Champion form, it beat Seraphimon.

It evolved into a Super Ultimate-level Ultra Arkadimon.

And yet, Future Mode AeroVeemon defeated it easily.

Even when Ultra Arkadimon evolved into Ultra Demon Lord, it was crushed by Future Mode AeroVeemon in a single hit.

"So powerful..." Moss murmured.

"You know about Future Mode?" Tamer Tai looked at her in surprise, then sighed. "But I can't evolve Zero into that form anymore."

Turns out you needed a special item—"Digital Spirit."

But that was gone now.

"Try using DigiSoul," Moss said, looking to Kari.

Kari nodded, igniting her DigiSoul.

Pass the flame?

"What's that..." Tamer Tai's eyes lit up.
