Jungkook stood outside Jimin's room, able to read every thought in his older brother's mind. He had witnessed all of Jimin's struggles and hardships.
Even when Jungkook was far away, waiting under the sea, he could feel Jimin's pain in that moment. As Aquanis, they shared a strong telepathic connection, allowing them to sense each other's emotions and experiences.
Jungkook remembered the day when he had finally found Jimin, wounded and broken. Although Jimin's physical wounds had healed quickly overnight, the wound in his chest never healed.
For years, Jimin endured immense physical and emotional pain. The humiliation and brutality he suffered at the hands of humans left a permanent scar on his soul.
After that incident, Jimin had changed. He wasn't the same person he was before—kind, hopeful, and soft-hearted, someone who believed that one day, humans might change, even though he had lost half his family in the war.
"Don't worry, Jimin. I'm going to make each and every one of them pay in the worst way," Jungkook promised himself, his fists clenched at his sides, gritting his teeth. He pushed the door open and stepped inside.
The room was in chaos. Jimin stood at the center, breathing heavily, his eyes wild with anger and pain. He had destroyed everything in sight—mirrors lay shattered, their sharp fragments scattered across the cold marble floor.
Vases were smashed into pieces, their colorful shards glinting under the dim light. The sofas and couches were overturned, their cushions torn and thrown aside. Jimin's rage and the lingering echoes of his pain ached Jungkook's heart. Knowing the depth of his brother's suffering, Jungkook wanted to destroy the entire human world.
"You had that dream again?" Jungkook asked in a low voice.
Jimin didn't respond; he just glanced back and forth as if he wasn't really in the room. Being an Aquanis, a mythical creature, had its own consequences. His heart had a permanent wound that could never heal, and because of this, Jimin's magic had messed up his mind. Whenever he recalled any past memory, he imagined himself back in the basement where he had spent years being tortured.
Despite knowing the truth—that his magic messed up his mind and made him imagine things that didn't exist anymore—Jimin still failed to control himself. His eyes, filled with fear and pain, scanned the surroundings. It wasn't his room anymore, but the basement where Professor Ben had kept him locked and tortured him for years.
Cold, damp concrete walls seemed to close in on him. Chains hung from the ceiling, and the floor bore dark stains of old blood. The tools and strange devices that Professor Ben had used on him were now scattered on the floor.
"I'm here, Jimin," a familiar voice brushed against his ears. Jimin turned to look at the figure standing a few inches away from him, but instead of Jungkook, who sensed Jimin's condition, he saw Professor Ben.
Jimin trembled, his hands gripping his head tightly, trying to push away the memories. His breathing came in short, uneven gasps, and his eyes darted wildly around the room. He failed to recognize the difference between his imagination and the reality of the present.
"Don't come close to me... I... I know you injected something into me to... to make me weak, but don't come closer," Jimin said in a shaky voice. He took a few steps back and searched for anything to protect himself.
Jungkook's heart ached. He cautiously took a step closer to Jimin, and despite feeling pain for his brother, he pretended to be strong. "It's me, your brother," Jungkook said. "You're imagining your past again," he reminded.
Jimin flinched; he couldn't recognize his brother or the room anymore. The magic and his mind had both become so messed up that sometimes it was hard for him to control himself. He still saw Professor Ben, heading closer to him to perform another brutal experiment.
"I won't let you torture me," Jimin yelled this time. He turned to his right and grabbed a sharp, broken shard, then stepped closer to Jungkook, assuming he was Professor Ben.
Jungkook raised his hand quickly, taking a moment as a chance to bring Jimin back to reality by using his magic. A blue light emerged from his palm, transferring itself into circular waves. In the blink of an eye, the magical waves forcefully shoved Jimin back, and he stumbled to the floor. His entire body felt a shocking pain, and in a split second, Jungkook's magic worked on Jimin and pulled him back to reality.
Jimin clutched his chest and coughed hard, a painful groan escaping his lips as he finally returned to the present.
"Are you alright?" Jungkook asked as he stepped closer to Jimin and knelt beside him.
Jimin nodded, feeling the warmth of tears in his eyes. "It happened again," he muttered, still coughing lightly. "I don't know when I'll be able to live without reliving those painful memories," he added.
"It'll be over soon once we take our revenge," Jungkook replied, swallowing the lump in his throat as he sat beside him.
Jimin, still feeling the burden of his agonizing past, leaned his head against the wall. "I don't think I'll ever be able to live a normal life... I'm too broken to be fixed," he said hopelessly, his eyes now filled with sorrow and hatred.
Jungkook suppressed his anger, rolling his tongue against his teeth. "You may never be fixed, but at least the people who destroyed your life will get their punishment," he said.
Jimin held back his tears, feeling exhausted. "It's getting late; let's go to sleep now," he said, standing up.
Jungkook got up too. "I'm sorry I had to use my magic again, but you know I had no choice," he said in an apologetic tone.
Jimin patted his shoulder. "I know it's hard for you too, so don't worry. Go get some sleep," he said, heading toward the doorway.
"Are you going somewhere?" Jungkook asked curiously, observing the sorrow on his brother's face.
"I'll just take a walk to the sea," Jimin replied, making his way toward the door.
Jungkook watched his brother leave, filled with anger and sorrow. All he wanted was to destroy the people of the town, every single person who had inflicted pain upon his brother.
