Chapter 9 - 8: The Confrontation

Jimin walked down the crowded hallway, his eyes focused ahead. Suddenly, he bumped into Lucas, the college's star football player. Lucas was tall, handsome, and Asian American, known for his arrogance and popularity. He came from a wealthy, influential family.

"Watch where you're going, loser. Next time, I won't be so nice," Lucas threatened, shoving Jimin back with a rough push.

Jimin didn't stumble. Instead, he stood perfectly still, his face blank. Slowly, he turned his head to look at Lucas with cold, empty eyes, like a predator staring at its prey.

Lucas froze under Jimin's piercing gaze, feeling a chill run down his spine. Nobody in the college had ever dared to stare at him like that, and it made Lucas furious.

"Dude, did you lose your mind?" Lucas said with a smirk, pushing Jimin again. His two lackeys joined him, flexing their influence as they laughed.

Jimin stepped closer and leaned in. "Do that again," Jimin said in a soft, menacing voice, "and I'll make sure you never play football again." His tone was calm but terrifying.

The other students gathered around, watching in amusement. Anna stood in the crowd with Kevin, and Serena had just joined them.

"What's going on?" Serena whispered.

Anna shrugged. "Don't know," she replied.

Lucas smirked, trying to act tough in front of the crowd. He puffed out his chest and took a step closer to Jimin. "You think you can scare me, newbie? You're nothing compared to me. I could crush you right here if I wanted to," he said, his voice loud and cocky. His lackeys laughed, backing him up, but they didn't know the darkness and power Jimin held inside.

Jimin chuckled softly at Lucas's foolish act. He tilted his neck slightly and shrugged his shoulder. His expression stayed blank, but his eyes darkened. "Crush me?" Jimin repeated in a calm but icy voice, raising his brows. "You're all talk, Lucas. Let's see if you can back it up."

Before Lucas could react, Jimin moved fast. In one swift motion, he grabbed Lucas by the collar and slammed him against the lockers. The sound echoed through the hallway, and the crowd gasped. Lucas's lackeys froze, too scared to step in.

Jimin leaned in closer, his voice low but sharp. "You think you're untouchable because you're the star player? Let me tell you something—you're nothing to me. Just a loudmouth who hides behind his little fan club." His grip tightened, and Lucas winced, struggling to break free.

The crowd watched in stunned silence. Anna's eyes widened, and she exchanged a worried glance with Kevin and Serena. "Jimin, stop!" Anna called out, but Jimin ignored her.

Just as Jimin's anger seemed to escalate further, and he raised his hand to punch Lucas, a voice echoed from across the crowd.

"Enough, Jimin. Let him go."

Jimin froze. He turned his head to look at Jungkook, who walked through the crowd and stepped closer to Jimin. "You're not here to deal with these jerks. Remember," Jungkook reminded him.

Jimin's eyes flickered, the darkness in them fading slightly as he glanced at Jungkook—the only one who could control him. For a moment, it seemed like Jimin might not listen. His jaw tightened, and his grip on Lucas didn't loosen. But then, slowly, he released Lucas, who stumbled back, his face red with embarrassment and anger. Jimin took a step back, his breathing heavy.

Jungkook put his hand on Jimin's shoulder, his voice calm but firm. "You can't draw any unnecessary attention, not now. Don't let him get to you."

Jimin didn't respond immediately. He glanced at Lucas, who was now being helped by his lackeys, and then at the crowd, who whispered nervously. Finally, he looked at Jungkook and gave a small nod. "Yeah," Jimin muttered, his voice low. "You're right."

Jungkook patted his shoulder and stepped back, giving Jimin space. The tension in the hallway slowly eased. Jimin straightened his jacket, his expression calm again, though his eyes still held a flicker of something unreadable. Without another word, he flipped his hair back and walked away. Jungkook glared at Lucas. "Don't waste our time again," he said arrogantly, slipping his hands into his pockets as he followed Jimin.

The crowd began to disperse, but the incident left everyone shaken. Anna stood frozen, her heart racing. She didn't know what to think. Jimin had just shown a side of himself that scared her, and yet he looked charming enough to make her feel curious about him.

Kevin grabbed her arm, pulling her aside. His voice was tense, his eyes serious. "I told you, Anna. Stay away from Jimin. He's trouble," he said firmly.

Anna nodded slowly, her gaze drifting toward Jimin as he walked away. "I think Lucas has some competition now," she said quietly. "At least he won't bother you for a while."

Kevin crossed his arms, nodding in satisfaction. "Yeah, and I hope Lucas learns his lesson this time." He glanced at his watch and sighed. "I've got to get to class. See you later," he said before turning and walking away.

Serena stepped closer to Anna, her eyes wide with excitement. She couldn't stop staring at Jungkook, who was now following Jimin down the hallway. "Did you see that guy? The one who stopped the fight?" Serena asked, her voice bubbling with enthusiasm.

Anna raised an eyebrow, glancing at Serena. "You mean Jungkook? Yeah, I saw him. Why?"

Serena's face lit up. "He's so cool! The way he just walked in and calmed everything down—like he owned the place. And did you see how Jimin actually listened to him? That's not easy." She crossed her arms, tilting her head as she watched Jungkook disappear around the corner. "He's got this… vibe, you know? Like he's in control of everything."

Anna chuckled, shaking her head. "You're already impressed, huh? You barely even know him."

Serena grinned, nudging Anna playfully. "Oh, come on. You can't tell me you didn't notice him. He's not just some random guy. He's got this confidence—like he's been through stuff. And that voice? So calm, but you could tell he meant every word." She sighed dramatically, placing a hand over her heart. "I think I'm a little obsessed."

Anna rolled her eyes, laughing. "You're impossible. Just don't get too carried away, okay? You don't even know if he's single."

Serena waved her hand dismissively. "Details, details. I'll figure it out. But seriously, Anna, don't you think there's something different about him? About both of them?"

Anna's smile faded slightly as she thought about Jimin. "Yeah, there's definitely something different about them. But different doesn't always mean good. Jimin… he's scary. Did you see how he handled Lucas? It was like he wasn't even human."

Serena nodded, her excitement calming a bit. "I know what you mean. But that's what makes them interesting, right? They're not like anyone else here."

Anna sighed, brushing her hair behind her ear. "I guess. But I think Kevin's right. I should stay away from Jimin. He's trouble."

Serena smirked. "And I should get closer to Jungkook. He's trouble too, but the good kind."

Anna laughed, shaking her head. "You're hopeless. Come on, let's get to class before we're late."

As they walked away, Anna couldn't help but glance back at the spot where Jimin and Jungkook had been. A part of her was curious, but another part warned her to stay far away. Whatever was going on with those two, it was definitely not ordinary.
