First took a step back, his gaze fixed on Khao. His breath hitched at the sight-cum dripping down Khoa's thigh, his lips swollen from First's kisses, his flushed skin adorned with love bites. He looked breathtaking, utterly intoxicating. Every nerve in First's body burned with the need to claim him. He wanted to be the only one who could see Khoa like this, the only one who could make him look like this.
"I love you, Khoa."
The words escaped before First could stop them. His voice trembled as emotion swelled in his chest.
"I love you so much it hurts," he continued, his eyes glistening with unshed tears. "It hurts trying to fight it."
Tears slipped down his cheeks, raw desperation bleeding into every word.
"What do I have to do to make you love me? To make you want to be with me?" His voice cracked as he begged. "I'm tired, Khoa. Tired of trying to get over you. I don't want to. But I also don't want to be just an onscreen partner to you-or just a bedmate. I want more. I want you to be mine. I want to be yours. Is that too much to ask?"
"First..." Khoa whispered, stepping closer. His fingers gently wiped away the tears staining First's face.
First let out a shaky breath, his heart pounding. "Why are you doing this to me?" His voice was laced with pain. " I tried really hard to move on-even when I hated it-you kept pulling me back. You made it impossible."
He swallowed hard, searching Khoa's eyes for an answer. "You keep asking me what you did wrong. Well, this is it. You don't want to be with me, but you won't let me go."
His voice dropped to a whisper, thick with anguish. "You're okay with just being sex partners, but I'm not. I want more, Khoa. I want a future with you-not just casual sex." His chest rose and fell with unsteady breaths. "I've been in love with you for the entire six years we've known each other. I'm going crazy, Khoa. What do I have to do... to have you?"
"Let's sit," Khoa said softly, guiding a still-crying First to the bed. He took First's hand in his own, gently massaging it. "I'm sorry for hurting you so much. I never meant to. Please... forgive me."
First sniffled, his red-rimmed eyes searching Khoa's face for answers.
"I started liking you three years ago," Khoa admitted. "That was a year before you asked me out for the third time."
First's breath hitched. "Then why did you reject me?" he asked, his voice filled with disbelief.
Khoa hesitated, looking down at their intertwined fingers. "Because... I thought I was boring and slow," he confessed, sadness clouding his eyes. "My ex broke up with me for that reason. He said I wasn't exciting enough, that I couldn't keep up with him."
Khoa swallowed hard before continuing. "I couldn't stop thinking about it. What if you started feeling that way about me too? What if, after we got together, you realized I wasn't fun enough? That I was too slow for you? And then... we'd break up. I didn't want that, First. The thought of working with you as my ex terrified me."
First's heart clenched as he listened.
"That's why I refused to put a label on us," Khoa admitted. "I kept waiting for you to leave during these two years we've been... intimate. But you never did-until recently." His voice wavered. "Do you know how heartbroken I was? I thought my worst fear had come true. That you'd finally realized I wasn't enough for you." His shoulders trembled. "I was scared, First."
A tear slipped down Khoa's cheek, and First instinctively reached out, wiping it away with his thumb.
"I'm so sorry, Khoa," First whispered. "I should've done better."
Khoa shook his head. "No, it's me who should apologize. I projected my past onto you and made you suffer because of it. I hurt you, even when I didn't mean to." He looked at First with raw vulnerability. "I don't know if you'll believe me, but I love you. I love you so much, I'm obsessed with you."
First's heart pounded.
"I know I've hurt you and rejected you before," Khoa continued, his voice thick with emotion. "But I've also realized something-I can't lose you. If I do, I'll regret it for the rest of my life." He met First's gaze, eyes pleading. "Please... be my boyfriend."
For a moment, First thought he was dreaming. His breath caught in his throat. "Are you serious?"
Khoa nodded, his grip tightening around First's hands.
A slow, disbelieving smile spread across First's face. "Yes," he said, voice full of emotion. "Let's be together. I'll be your boyfriend. Khoa, I love you." His smile widened. "Being yours is all I've ever wanted. And now that I have that..." He cupped Khoa's face, his thumb brushing over his cheek. "My next goal is marrying you."
Khoa chuckled through his tears. "Start saving up, then," he teased. "My groom's price will be expensive."
First laughed, his heart swelling with joy. "Worth every penny."
"I'm so happy, First," Khoa whispered before lunging forward, wrapping his arms around him in a tight embrace.
First held him close, but a moment later, Khoa pulled back, raising a curious brow. "Uh... what's poking my stomach?" he asked, amused.
First smirked. "Well... we haven't done it in a while. One round isn't going to satisfy me."
Khoa's lips curled into a pout. "And whose fault is that? You kept rejecting me."
First pushed him down onto the bed, hovering over him. "Then let me make up for lost time," he murmured before capturing Khao's lips in a deep, passionate kiss.
