"Something is not right," Lord Rowland said to me, and I understood exactly what he meant. I had felt it too, especially with the way Aunt Sabrina behaved outside. There was something off about her, something unsettling.
"Do you remember years ago, after I called off my engagement with Princess Arabella, she sent a message that she wanted to see me?" I asked, watching Rowland closely, hoping he remembered. He nodded slowly, and I continued. "She asked to meet me in the garden. I was nervous but hopeful. I thought she wanted to talk, maybe clear things up. But when I arrived, she just sat there in silence. For more than ten minutes, she didn't say a word. And when she finally opened her mouth, I expected her to speak... but instead, she started barking like a dog."
"Yes. I remember. Everyone turned on you. They blamed you for it," Rowland replied. "They said it was your fault she lost her mind. They said you were cursed… that you were a devil."
