Delphine lay down for a while, feeling her energy somewhat restored. When it came to the pregnancy, Leah was even more excited than she was. Leah instructed, "Take good care of yourself at the hospital for the next couple of days. I'll bring you nourishing soups every day. The new chef is incredibly skilled. Once you're feeling better, I'll accompany you to shop at the mall. Pregnancy is a top priority for women—everything you eat, drink, and use has to be upgraded."
Delphine's eyes grew slightly misty, and she smiled while nodding. Even if she tried to suppress her emotions, there was a subtle anticipation for this child. It could be considered her only solace for a life half-lived in solitude.
"I'll head back first and come see you again tomorrow," Leah said as she reached out to hug her. Clinging onto her with a touch of dependence, she playfully added, "Delphine, you must stay well, and make sure the baby stays well too."
