Delphine lay on the bed, guarded at first, but when she saw Ignatius Leclair actually sleeping on the floor after his bath, she finally breathed a sigh of relief and fell into a deep slumber.
The first half of the night was fairly peaceful, but in the latter half, she began to feel as though something heavy was pressing down on her, making it hard to breathe.
Her eyelids felt weighed down, unable to open, her body drained of strength. This went on for several nights, with the one sleeping on the floor seeming more energetic than she, who slept on the bed.
Delphine noticed that everyone around was already busy, especially with Bessie Leclair and Jocelyn Yeager's wedding. Even the old patriarch of the Leclair Family had no time to rest, rushing about endlessly. She decided to bear with it.
