I did think about forcing the green threads to work together, just like I had done before with my skill [Fractured Unity].
That reckless move had once combined the green natural Essence with my own violet Essence, creating a volatile brown energy that carried nothing but destruction.
The two forces were never meant to coexist, and yet under my will they clashed, tore, and twisted into something violently unstable.
If I tried to apply that same principle to the threads now, using them for the restructuring of my body, I knew I might not ascend, I might simply annihilate myself.
But if I succeeded then my body will become a destructive force.
But even as the thought formed, my instincts screamed at me not to go down that path. It wasn't a faint whisper either, it was sharp, urgent, like something deep inside me knew the consequences would be disastrous.
I didn't know why that feeling resisted me so strongly, but in the end, I trusted it.
So, I chose differently.
