The space within my Divine Core began to tremble as the Generator Rune and Crimson Rune slowly drifted toward one another, their opposing energies stirring violently with every passing instant. My Divine Core convulsed, and the remaining Origins inside it began to fluctuate as though they could sense the approaching catastrophe.
I knew that once the runes made contact, I would not be able to control what happened next, but I continued releasing my hold, allowing the distance between them to shrink.
Theras watched me with faint approval.
"You did well to reach this point, Billion," he said, his voice carrying the quiet finality of someone closing a chapter that had already been written. "But this is the end for you."
