I followed the mural across the ruined battlefield and finally saw the Crimson Monarch.
He had survived as well.
His crimson hair was dishevelled, his black robes were torn apart in several places, and blood ran down one side of his face. Numerous injuries covered his body, making it clear that he had suffered damage comparable to the Generator God.
The crimson fog surrounding him had also been reduced dramatically. The endless crimson sea that had once stretched behind him and appeared capable of swallowing an entire universe was now nothing more than a small pocket of slowly churning mist.
His crimson rune remained above his head, but it was in almost the same condition as the Generator rune, with its radiance severely weakened and its structure appearing unstable.
The two Gods stood across from each other amid the ruins of everything they had once possessed.
