In the land of the free, 2 mighty empires stand as the pillars of freedom - Lumina and Nocturna. Both banners fluttered in the winds of Neutopia, a country heavily influenced by the themes of light and dark.
A door opened. A teenager with black hair, seemed decently tall with brown eyes, emerged, yawning as he walked down the corridor of his estate.
"That sleep…felt so good.." He slurred, still drowsy from his sleep, holding his stomach in hunger.
"Now I'm starving.." He looked as his stomach grumbled, releasing a large yawn. But suddenly, he bumped into his best friend, Hana.
"Hey Ren!" Hana smiled at him.
Ren opened his eyes, seeing her. "Yo, Hana!"
"You clearly look like you've had a good rest." She smirked as she turned around, walking.
Ren sighed while smiling, catching up to her and walking beside her. "Yeah, how'd you know..?"
"It's pretty noticeable. Especially because it's you..!" She laughed a bit before they reached the hall.
But the hall was empty? They both looked around, roaming the hall for any sign of any people, until they heard shouting outside.
"Come on, Ren!! We have to go!" She said as she quickly jumped onto a wall, speeding through the halls.
Ren looked, amazed. "I always forget how fast you are." He spoke as he ran, attempting to catch up to her.
They both ran outside, seeing a battle going on outside of the castle walls, blades being shattered, sliced and stabbed. Blood splattering like ink on a canvas.
Ren and Hana both looked at each other. "What time did we wake up?!" They both shouted as suddenly a bunch of soldiers started running at them.
"Hana, you deal with these guys." Ren said as he grabbed one's head, jumping over them. Hana nodded as she got serious, starting to run, kicking 4 at once with one foot, knocking down another 4 as she spun around with her other foot, launching a gut punch, looking at another and punching them in the heart.
Ren, who had jumped over, had taken 2 down with just his strength alone, punching one in the face, kicking the other down as Hana suddenly appeared next to him, knocking a rogue soldier out.
"THANKS, HANA!"
"NO PROBLEM, REN!" They said as his eyes widened in the distance. It was like he saw himself in a mirror. Hana looked, seeing exactly what he had seen, dashing to aid the person.
Ren looked at his uniform, seeing that he was a soldier of Nocturna, but he couldn't even move a single step, like the chains of fate held him down.
Hana quickly carried him past, Ren following her as he took a deep breath, the chains shattering as he dashed.
"Is he okay..?" Ren asked as they ran to her base, performing medical operations.
Hana looked. "He seems fine…but he'll definitely have to stay here. Nobody can find out." She whispered.
Ren nodded as he looked at the person, turning around and walking away.
Suddenly, all the warriors in the fight filled the halls, all either going to the hall or their rooms.
Ren sighed, walking back into his room, relaxing on his bed. "So much has happened today already…For an Empire of Freedom..why fight so much..are we ever free..if we die?" He looked outside his window, then sat back on his bed.
"I'll get food later." He thought to himself as he went to rest.
Hana looked at the boy in the hospital, her eyes staring at his face, realizing how similar he looked to Ren…
She turned around, accidentally speaking out loud. "You know..I wonder what your name is..for somebody so..similar.." She spoke.
"They call me…Huurei Fukuhara." He spoke, scaring Hana nearly into violence.
Huurei looked. "Sorry..for the scare.." He tried to stay down to not hurt himself.
Hana sighed. "You're lucky we saved you out there, or else you would've died.."
Huurei felt his scar, then thought. "Interesting…thank you..I'm sorry for the trouble I've caused.."
Hana looked at him, her brain rotating around Ren. "You know, you look an awful lot like my friend, Ren. He'll be here tomorrow because he went back to sleep."
Huurei looked around, then nodding. "Alright.." He said as he instantly fell asleep again, Hana blinking slowly, looking if he was actually asleep, rubbing her head.
"Oh well.." Hana said as she turned around, walking out.
"Ren's surname…Damn..! It's on the edge of my brain…" She said as she tried her hardest to remember….Ren….Kita….Hara…..
"REN KITAHARA!" She thought, but she heard something. Something ominous…it WAS getting late and she was decently tired..This state was her most vulnerable.
The glass shattered, Hana suddenly getting interrogated by 3 Nocturna soldiers, one of them trying to fight her. But she knew she could hold her own for a bit.
The alarms started blaring, Hana pulling out her dagger, adopting a position. She quickly slashed one in the chest, looking at her arm as it was held, stabbing into their arm muscles and kicking them away, staring at the last one, springing off the other one's body, drop kicking them.
Ren quickly ran, even though he had just woken up in a loose shirt and basic trousers, dashing down the corridor and punching the other Nocturna soldiers that came their way. It was just them two, due to the other soldiers all trying to get rest from their heavy battle .
Hana looked. "Glad you're here!"
"I would never miss this..!" Ren smirked as he looked at the other Nocturna soldiers, launching a punch at one, Hana jumping over his shoulder, kicking another one as they both progressed through the corridor.
"They're here for Huurei."
"That's the Nocturna soldier? They're not gonna get him." Ren looked as he quickly ran over to the hospital room, Hana following.
Ren kicked open the door, seeing Huurei awake, looking over at the two of them.
"I think I've caused too much trouble..Let me re-pay you.." Huurei stood up, taking a few steps as some kind of essence flowed, and they all felt it in their souls.
"There's something special..about him..isn't there, Hana." Ren looked as he felt his stomach.
"Definitely..you felt it too, huh." Hana looked as they suddenly exited Huurei's room, seeing dead Nocturna soldiers all over the ground.
"What..the..hell." Hana and Rei both looked, saying the same thing as they continued running after Huurei.
As they continued running, they saw more dead bodies, deciding to start sprinting.
"Continue to mess or involve yourselves with the likes of me…you'll die." Huurei uttered as 5 more soldiers fell, preparing to go outside.
Ren and Hana quickly looked.
"How can somebody operate this crazily with a few hours of healing?!" Hana looked.
"I don't know, but he seems to have the thing told in stories.." Ren spoke as they both ran outside after Huurei, seeing the Emperors of Lumina and Nocturna both battling.
All 3 of them stood out of the battle, staring at what was happening.
The Emperor's both looked with their light and dark abilities, creating swords that fit both personalities, clashing, leaving an immense wind.
"What the hell are these two doing?!" Hana stared at their fight, keeping her body on the ground from the heavy gusts of wind.
The Emperor looked. "I don't care that we have your soldier. What matters is that you're here…right now." He said as he tried slashing him, leaving a few light blasts, which were destroyed by darkness.
Ren looked, feeling a dark energy taking over him. "I have to stop this myself..Even if it feels like betrayal…" He said as his energy quickly dashed in..but he wasn't allowed to move yet.
He was suddenly teleported to a void, seeing a person in a throne.
"I can't see you..Let me see you." Ren looked up.
"My name…is Noctilux. I will aid you, in your goal. You are destined for freedom. I am fate itself."
"Just allow me to accept your power already." He said as he ran to it, holding his hand, awakening in that second, creating a large dust explosion, stopping both Emperors with his 2 hands.
Ren looked at the two of them. "What is the point. You're not getting anybody. You have both failed." He said as he nullified the both of them, leaving them both on the ground.
Huurei and Hana quickly disappeared in an instant, Ren deciding to leave Lumina in that moment.
The 2 Emperors looked. "He managed to defeat both of us..that easily..He's a problem.."
"We'll have to watch out for him..Classify him as a special threat."
"I will." The Other Emperor spoke as he left.
Behind the wall, Huurei and Hana both looked at the 2 of them.
"Ren's gone..Where will he go.."
"That was Ren..He was insanely powerful.."
"He's never like that. But I think you caused that."
"Me..? My soul..?"
"Yeah..you had some kind of effect on the both of us..If that happened to him, I don't know what happened to me."
Huurei looked. "Surely, we have to go after him..?"
Hana looked. "But are we willing to betray both nations to go after a friend..?"
Huurei stared at her. "What is Ren to you..?"
Hana blushed a little. "He's…my best friend.."
Huurei blankly stared. "Imagine if he died to the hands of both Emperors simply because he stopped them both from killing each other."
Hana's eyes started glowing. "I won't let that happen." She said as she stood up. "I won't let myself lose other people anymore..Not because I acted helpless when I could always do something." She said as her aura started flaring.
"Let's go, Huurei." She said as they both ran outside of Lumina in the dead of night, chasing after Ren.
However, Ren had ran beyond where his legs could reach, and was stopped by an entity.
"You. Kitahara." The cloaked figure looked at him.
Ren suddenly stopped, his heart skipping a few beats as his eyes widened. "Who are you.."
"You don't need to know." The cloaked person spoke, grabbing Ren as Huurei and Hana had finally found him.
"Now is when you let him go." Huurei appeared along side Hana, holding his blade.
The cloaked person sighed. "How lame. I'll just fight all 3 of you at once." He said as he kicked Ren away, his cloak flowing with air as he got into a fighting position.
All 3 of them got together, Ren being slightly hurt from the kick but still being able to operate.
"You 2 really came..for me..?"
"Of course..! I'm not leaving you alone." Hana spoke.
Huurei looked. "I'm here to protect. Since subjectively..I'm the strongest..!" He smirked a little bit as he walked in front of the cloaked figure, releasing a powerful presence.
"So you're Huurei Fukuhara. The one in a lifetime."
Huurei quickly ran to him, launching his body to the right before jumping in with an attack of his blade, leaving a deep cut in the cloaked figure's arm.
"I'm the one in a lifetime that will end your own time!!" He shouted as he kicked him back, jumping back.
Hana quickly sped from the left side of him, using her dagger as an attempt to slice the figure, but it locked eye contact through the shadows of it's hood, striking Hana in the stomach, Ren quickly jumping up and catching her.
"Thanks, Ren..!" She said as she felt immense pain, barely able to speak now, breathing heavily.
Ren quickly looked at the cloaked figure. "I won't let you suffer…because of me..Hana.." He started growing anger, which simply made him stronger.
"That weak woman tried attacking me and failed. This is why you keep girls out of men's busine-" The figure didn't even get to finish his sentence before his entire face was grasped by Ren's hand, dragging him across the ground, slamming him into a mountain wall as the hood dropped.
"If you even think of speaking down anybody…not just Hana..but any woman ever again..I will make sure you suffer the past..present..and future." He said as he grabbed his face once again, the dark energy starting to absorb his soul's energy, nearly killing him.
Noctilux laughed. "So you're Ren Kitahara. I see!! You are the one.."
Suddenly, Ren was impaled by a large needle, dying inside of the mountain. Both Huurei and Hana looked in complete shock at what had just happened. How can Ren be stabbed by a large..needle..?
Noctilux started seeping out of his body, forming it's own body.
"I wish the story didn't have to end so soon..but I have to reawaken in my own glory."
"Ren Kitahara. I must tell you. Your powers were mine this entire time. But you didn't even use them. All 3 of you…are all so weak. Not even able to defeat somebody like me. Believing an entity as dark as me can grant you abilities..It's a very nice show that you've put on." Noctilux clapped, creating large gusts of wind, attempting to blow them both back, but failed, Hana quickly running.
"I DON'T CARE, JUST GIVE REN BACK!"
Huurei quickly ran infront of Hana, unsheathing his blade as he slashed the attacks, dashing to Noctilux, clashing with it.
"Huurei Fukuhara…Or should I say…"
"REI KITAHARA." Noctilux smiled.
Huurei looked. "What.."
Hana stared, completely lost. "So that's why they looked similar.."
Rei was caught in a daze for a few seconds, adapting to it and slashing it again, but nothing managed to defeat it, until he dashed back.
"My brother…You killed..My brother.." He looked, a tear shedding from his eyes. He had barely even known his brother, but learning all of this about him, knowing he was such a good person..It made him happy. But now..he had just seen him die..to practically his own hands.
A tear shed across Hana's face as she quickly ran, trying to slam Noctilux's face, managing to land a direct hit, knocking it back before it looked at her eyes.
"They're…glowing." It looked as it summoned a void, attempting to trap them all in it, but failed, knowing it didn't have enough power.
All of a sudden, they all heard the chime of a clock. Ren, Rei and Hana all saw as a clock descended onto their heads like a halo.
"It's too bad…you killed the worst of my members so easily.." A voice was heard as the entire Eclipse Order had all appeared.
Hana looked. "A secret society that focuses in hypnosis…the Eclipse Order.."
Ren's halo had started releasing energy, tapping the needle, suddenly making it disappear, touching his stomach as it slowly healed itself, all source of pain from him disappearing.
"I'll deal with the Eclipse Order. You 2 can deal with Noctilux." He said as he started bracing himself.
"The power of time itself..this is truly exhilarating..!!" He said as the halo spun even faster, starting to grant it's abilities to him.
All of the Eclipse Order tried attacking him, but time had slowed down, Ren suddenly disappearing, a huge explosion occurring.
The leader of the Eclipse Order quickly appeared, trying to catch up to Ren's techniques, but was quickly sat on by Ren, the others all trying to punch him while he had his eyes closed. They had made contact with Ren, knocking him back. Until they saw him standing, looking completely unaffected.
"You don't know..what I can really do.." He said as the halo spun again, all of their necks suddenly being sliced.
Ren sighed, looking at Hana and Rei both fighting Noctilux at the same time, about to jump in, until his leg was grabbed by the chains of fate.
"You again…I couldn't defeat you last time..BUT I CAN NOW!!" He smirked as he dashed past, breaking the chains as they faded away, Ren launching a punch at Noctilux, the halo spinning again, landing the heavy punch on Noctilux as Hana jumped in.
"RECALL!" She said as her halo spun itself, charging her fist, launching an attack on Noctilux.
"You don't underestimate a person's strength because of their gender. That was your biggest mistake." She said as she reversed time, launching the same punch multiple times to different areas, Rei quickly springing in and chopping off Noctilux's arm before it could attempt to even Kill Hana.
Ren quickly looked as all 3 of them circled Noctilux at the same time.
"I WILL DEFINE ALL OF YOUR FATES, RIGHT NOW!!"
Ren, Rei and Hana all looked as their halos spun, preparing for a final attack, and they al shouted.
"NOW. ALWAYS. FOREVER." Ren, Hana and Rei spoke in order, a temporal beam striking Noctilux, starting to devour it, scattering it's nuanced form across the stars. The Eclipse Order faded away as the sun started rising, the 2 Emperors being seen in the distance.
Ren looked. "It's the Emperors.." He spoke as he accidentally created a pocket dimension for the 3 of them to hide in.
Hana looked. "This is interesting..?"
Rei squinted, looking at everything. "It's pretty dark here, you know.."
Hana stared around, her eyes shining. "Memories..fragments…a soul..?"
Rei looked. "What are you talking about..?" He looked at her eyes glowing.
Ren stared. "I think we're meant to awaken our true abilities here."
Hana's halo crumbled away, becoming a part of her power as her hands started creating the foundation of the soul.
Ren's halo was next to crumble as he started using his energy to sharpen the foundation of the soul, changing it's form.
Rei started powering the soul with the future as his halo crumbled, creating the soul of truth.
Ren spoke. "Now, I've looked in the past, and I've seen a warrior fit to be a body for this soul." He said as he started draining energy from the insignia of the past, placing it into the soul.
"We shall name it.."
"FUHUDA."
