Chapter 41 - CH 41

Bai Yu Claims Shandora—Enel Enters the Scene!

"Come on, everyone, let's take some pictures."

Bai Yu motioned for the girls to stand on a high platform in Shandora, then secured a camera Den Den Mushi with a wisp of cloud.

He captured the breathtaking sight from above—an all-encompassing view of the legendary city of gold.

"Click!"

After taking over a dozen photos, Nami and Vivi ran off excitedly, while Kaya, Tashigi, Nojiko, and Makino happily wandered around, marveling at their surroundings.

But then—

"That is?!"

Robin, having just glanced at her surroundings again, was drawn to a massive golden bell.

It was huge.

Tens of meters tall, with a base and support structure of equal size, entirely made of gold.

Bai Yu followed her gaze.

It was a truly striking sight.

A cubic meter of gold weighs about 20 tons. A mere 1m³ is already dense and incredibly heavy.

If the bell was 10m × 10m × 10m, that meant it contained over a thousand cubic meters of gold.

That was tens of thousands of tons of pure gold.

And if you factored in the entire golden city…

Bai Yu suddenly thought of an earth-shattering number.

A sum that could even astonish the Golden Emperor Gild Tesoro.

A sum that could disrupt the world's gold market entirely.

"Would Kaido and Big Mom come after me for this? Could Whitebeard resist getting involved? He does care about his homeland, after all…"

"Sengoku is going to lose his mind."

"With a treasure trove like this, the Marines wouldn't have to worry about funding for at least a decade."

The very thought of standing against the entire world ignited Bai Yu's fighting spirit.

Without hesitation, he sent Morgans the photos, along with some details.

"Make this a full-page headline."

"This is big news!"

Morgans flapped around his office excitedly.

Everyone knew that Gild Tesoro was filthy rich, but he was connected—he played nice with the world powers, ensuring they all had a piece of the pie.

Bai Yu, however, was different.

He didn't care about alliances or diplomacy.

He wasn't planning to give anyone a share.

"Robin, how do I move an entire city?"

Bai Yu walked over to Robin, who was busy deciphering the Poneglyph.

He looked at her and said casually, "That's Poseidon's location, right? What's so interesting?"

"Oh, and Roger's message is here too."

"You… you knew?"

Robin, who had just finished reading, was momentarily stunned.

Then, a bright smile spread across her face.

"You really can read the ancient text… I knew it! It's so good to have you!"

Bai Yu twitched slightly but said nothing.

Instead, he sighed.

"How do I move this whole city? You got any ideas?"

Robin chuckled gracefully.

"You'll figure something out. I believe in you."

Bai Yu had a headache.

A ring wouldn't work—not even a hundred rings could handle this.

Dismantling the city was an option, but…

Though Bai Yu had no deep interest in history, he didn't want to destroy such a priceless artifact.

At most, he'd sell off small pieces of gold.

Could Undead Prison work?

It had the capacity for storage, but the challenge was moving an entire city without breaking it apart.

That's when a new thought hit him.

Teleportation.

Just as Bai Yu was thinking about how to apply transfer techniques to this situation—

He felt it.

Danger.

Without thinking, he grabbed Robin and teleported away.

BOOM!

A massive bolt of lightning struck the golden ground where they had just stood, partially melting it.

Robin snapped back to her senses, eyes wide.

"Lightning?!"

"Yeah. Logia."

Bai Yu's Observation Haki activated.

Caught up in his plans for Shandora, he had almost forgotten about a certain voyeuristic troublemaker.

Robin paled.

"The Thunder-Thunder Fruit? Among all Devil Fruits, that's one of the most overpowered abilities."

Bai Yu remained unimpressed.

Lightning speed. Massive destructive power. Extreme heat. Explosive capabilities. Wide attack range. Electromagnetic manipulation.

A truly formidable ability.

Across many worlds, lightning has been revered as the power of the gods.

But this god?

Bai Yu nearly laughed.

Enel was just a fraudulent thunder deity—one whose lightning couldn't even fry rubber.

Honestly, Enel's problem was bad timing.

If he had appeared later, he wouldn't have suffered such an embarrassing loss.

But alas—fate had pitted him against Luffy, the Sun God.

And lightning doesn't scare the sun.

"Yeah-hahaha!"

A flash of electricity crackled, and a figure materialized above them, exuding supreme arrogance.

Enel.

"Oh-ho? So many mortals from the Blue Sea?"

His laughter echoed as he scanned the city, then his golden staff tapped the ground.

"I never expected such a magnificent city to be hidden here. Truly, a place worthy of a god's domain."

Robin blinked in disbelief.

"Did he just call himself a god? Is he serious?"

Bai Yu smirked.

"This city? Sorry, it's mine now."

Enel's eyes flickered toward him.

Then, he burst into laughter.

"Yeah-hahaha! A mere mortal dares speak to God?!"

For Enel, after he awakened his divine power, the entire world belonged to him.

The only reason he didn't care about the Blue Sea was that it was filled with "unworthy mortals."

Otherwise, he would have learned the hard way that gods get humbled too.

"I like your abilities."

Bai Yu's eyes burned with intrigue.

Forget the city—he wanted Enel's fruit.

Lightning could enhance his teleportation range.

The electromagnetic field could refine his Observation Haki.

And raw electricity? That was destructive potential.

Enel narrowed his eyes.

"Yeah-hahaha! This god doesn't like your eyes!"

"Bear witness to divine power!"

30 Million Volts: Thunderbird!

Enel beat the golden drums on his shoulders.

A massive, glowing Thunderbird formed, crackling with violent electricity, then shot toward Bai Yu.

But—

Shwoop!

In an instant, Bai Yu teleported away with Robin.

Then—

Shwoop!

He teleported back.

Enel blinked.

To him, Robin had simply vanished.

That alone made him slightly wary.

But then—

"Attack… Transfer."

Bai Yu activated his ability for the first time.

And just like that—

Enel's own Thunderbird changed direction.

Turning mid-air, it shot straight back at him.

"W-What?!"

Enel frowned, momentarily puzzled.

BOOM!

The Thunderbird blasted Enel, sending electricity rippling across his form.

But, naturally—

His body reformed in seconds, unharmed.

"Yeah-hahaha! I don't know how you did that… but you've proven yourself worthy."

From atop his platform, Enel spoke with divine arrogance.

"Then, I shall grant you the rank of priest! You will accompany me to the Endless Vearth!"

Bai Yu's expression darkened.

He raised his head slightly.

"I don't like people looking down on me."

"Get down here!"

BOOM!
