Aftermath of a Battle Between Monsters
The battlefield was eerily silent.
The clash between Kuroyami, Sirzechs, and Michael had left the land scarred beyond recognition. Entire mountains had been sliced apart, the sky was distorted, and the very air was still trembling from the aftershocks.
Despite that, Kuroyami stood tall, his sword resting on his shoulder, his grin unshaken.
Rias and the others still struggled to comprehend what had just happened.
Issei, who had woken up for the third time, immediately fell to his knees.
"H-He's not human… He's not human at all!"
Akeno, usually playful, was still processing the fight. "Ara~ Even I have to admit… that was beyond anything I expected."
Kiba smiled wryly. "He fought the two strongest beings from opposing factions… and didn't even look serious."
Koneko, always blunt, simply said, "Scary."
Sirzechs, who had reverted to his usual kind self, sighed and stretched his arms.
"That was an exciting fight, Kuroyami-kun. It's been a while since I've truly enjoyed a battle."
Kuroyami smirked, twirling his sword before letting it rest on his shoulder. "I could say the same. Though, next time, don't hold back. I wanna see just how crazy you can get."
Sirzechs chuckled. "I'll consider it."
Rias finally stepped forward, her eyes filled with confusion and frustration.
"Kuroyami… Just who are you?"
Silence.
Everyone was thinking the same thing.
A normal second-year high school student shouldn't be able to fight on par with the strongest beings in existence.
Kuroyami sighed dramatically. "Haaa… And here I thought we were past that question."
A flicker of amusement crossed his midnight-purple eyes.
"Well, if you really wanna know…"
He stepped forward, his presence pressing down on everyone.
"I'm Kuroyami Saisei. Just a guy who doesn't give a damn about destiny, fate, or anything else." His grin widened. "And I do whatever the hell I want."
Rias clenched her fists. "That's not an answer!"
Kuroyami chuckled but didn't elaborate further.
Sirzechs, however, smiled knowingly.
"It's fine, Rias. Some mysteries are best left unsolved… for now."
Rias bit her lip but eventually sighed in frustration. "Fine… but this isn't over."
The Underworld Reacts
Meanwhile…
In the depths of the Underworld, the entire council of devils was in an uproar.
The footage of Kuroyami's battle had already spread.
Inside a grand chamber, noble devils argued amongst themselves.
"That human… He fought Sirzechs-sama without dying?!"
"This is insane! What if he's a threat to the Underworld?"
"He must be monitored at all costs!"
Serafall Leviathan, the playful but extremely powerful Satan of the Underworld, sipped on a milkshake while watching the recordings.
"Mou~ Kuro-chan is super strong! I wanna recruit him~"
Ajuka Beelzebub, the genius scientist among the Four Satans, adjusted his glasses.
"Recruit? If anything, we need to analyze him. His power… it doesn't fit any known system. It's neither divine nor demonic. It's something else entirely."
Falbium Asmodeus, the laziest Satan, simply yawned. "As long as he doesn't attack us, I don't care."
Sirzechs, who had just arrived, smiled.
"Relax, everyone. Kuroyami isn't our enemy."
The room went silent.
One of the noble devils spoke up. "Sirzechs-sama, with all due respect… how can you be so sure?"
Sirzechs' smile widened.
"Because if he wanted to destroy the Underworld…"
He turned, looking at the footage of Kuroyami's Dimension Slash nearly cutting through space itself.
"…He would've done it already."
An Invitation From Azazel
Back at Kuoh Academy…
After the battle, Kuroyami had returned to his "normal" life as a student… or at least he tried to.
During class, he casually leaned back in his chair while Issei kept stealing glances at him.
Kuroyami sighed. "Oi. Perverted Dragon. What the hell do you want?"
Issei flinched. "N-Nothing! I just—" He gulped. "Dude, you fought THE Sirzechs Lucifer and an ARCHANGEL. How the hell am I supposed to just act normal around you?!"
Kuroyami smirked. "Simple. You don't."
Issei paled.
Before he could say more, the classroom door opened.
A man with golden eyes, messy blonde hair, and a relaxed grin entered.
Kuroyami immediately recognized him.
Azazel. The Governor-General of the Fallen Angels.
The entire classroom froze.
The teacher stammered, "S-Sir, this is a classroom—"
Azazel waved his hand lazily. "Yeah, yeah, don't worry. I'm just here for a quick chat with someone."
His golden eyes locked onto Kuroyami.
Kuroyami sighed. "Great. Another faction wants to talk to me."
Azazel grinned. "What can I say? You're the most interesting person in the world right now."
He tossed a letter onto Kuroyami's desk.
"Come to Grigori. We need to talk."
The entire classroom was dead silent.
Even the teacher didn't dare speak.
Kuroyami lazily picked up the letter, scanned it, then shrugged.
"Meh. Sure. Why not?"
Azazel smirked. "I knew you'd say that."
He turned to leave, then paused.
"Oh, and by the way…"
He glanced back, his expression more serious.
"Be careful. There are bigger threats watching you now."
Kuroyami's smirk never faded. "Good. I was starting to get bored."
Azazel laughed. "I like your attitude, kid. See you soon."
With that, he vanished.
Rias, who had been watching from her seat, frowned.
"...Another faction is moving."
Akeno's smile turned sharp. "**Ara~ Kuroyami-kun is popular with all the major players~"
Kiba sighed. "Something big is coming."
Kuroyami, meanwhile, simply stretched his arms.
"Tch. Guess I'll have to pay the Fallen Angels a visit."
