Mark and Jason were walking on the road in New York City. Every time they saw the night view of the city, they became amazed. There are major differences between the night view and the day view of the new work city.
At night, New York City transformed into a dazzling sea of lights. Every building glowed brightly against the night sky, and even their windows were twinkling like countless stars.
And many people were living in this moment.
After a long day's work, they were enjoying their life. Some with their loved ones, some alone and some with their friends.
The sea of people and glittering lights reminded you that this city never truly slept, and every corner pulsed with energy.
Marks Pov
I was walking on the road in one of the busiest cities in the world, New York City.
Although I had seen the night view through old Mark's memory, seeing it in person was another experience.
We took two hamburgers and sat on the stairs of the footpath.
While eating, I said, "It tastes good."
"Hmm, it's good, and food always tastes good when you get company", Jeson replied while eating.
"You talked like an old man", I said, raising my eyebrows.
"Na, mom always says this, by the way, my mom invited....."
Booooooom
I heard a loud explosion and turned my head towards the sound. A building had caught fire, and fire was spreading on the fifteenth floor. People were running here and there, some opened their phones and started filming.
I and Jason ran towards the building.
But I was searching for a dark corner and I found the place. Without telling Jason, I changed my direction and ran towards the dark corner. I heard Jason call my name loudly, perhaps he noticed my absence. But there was no time for that.
"Tiss block all the surveillance cameras and satellite cameras", I said urgently.
"Done ", she replied immediately.
Then it's time for my first debut.
I raised my left arm, and an alien hologram image lit up instantly, and I pressed the dial.
Instantly, his body began to change, and his ribs began to expand. His body became black
with blue patching on his slender chest, and running along his legs and arms, the latter reaching up to the back of his neck. He has cyan patches that resemble ice chunks on my legs and arms. Thick black lines border the back end of each wing, which also contains three cyan patches of their own.
His face was blue, and harsh black lines surrounded my eyes and mouth, which all met at the center of his face. He also had a black mark on his head that extended over his scalp, forcing the remaining blue parts of his forehead into a Y-shape. His eyes were bright green, with small, darker spots inside. His mouth was a frown showing four bluish-white teeth, which rarely moved, even when speaking. He had three pointed fingers and a thumb on each hand, and three toes on each foot, two in front and one behind.
When the transformation ends, there stands a moth-like alien, whose four wings and two antennae-like wing folds can fold up into a poncho-esque robe with a hood, giving him the appearance of a phantom.
Big Chill
He said while cold breath came from his mouth. He expanded his wings and flew towards the building. While flying, he became invisible.
When he reached there, he saw many people standing in front of the building entrance, they were shouting and filming.
I came in front of the window, deactivated my invisibility and entered the room through the window. Fire broke out in the room. But luckily room tenants were not dead. They were unconscious. Two adults and one child lay on the floor, embracing each other. They were ready to die together. This scene touched my heart. Without delaying, I released cold breath from my mouth and froze the fire like ice sculptures. The whole room became white. Then I picked them up and left the room through the window and flew down to the road.
3rd person pov
I was patrolling through the city when I heard an explosion. I went there as soon as possible. I called the ambulance and the fire brigade. One room had caught fire on the fifteenth floor. I was helping people to evacuate from the building.
"Look what's that?" someone cried, and one by one, all looked at the window of the room. I also looked at the window. But caught my eye, I never forgot it for my life. I saw a humanoid creature levitating in front of the window.
"It comes out of thin air.", someone cried.
I saw that creature enter the room, and within a few minutes, the fire died down. No smoke came from the window.
And after a few minutes, it left the room carrying two people in its two arms. Then it came towards us. Some of the crowd panicked and ran away, and some stayed out of curiosity. I clutched my handgun, aiming towards it. It landed in front of me and lay them on the ground. Then it again flew towards the room and came out carrying a boy and laid him with them.
Then it said with an icy voice, "They are unconscious, take them to the hospital as soon as possible."
Saying this, it flew away. Seeing its otherworldly, alien appearance, sweat formed on my forehead. I lost myself in my thoughts.
The siren of the ambulance brought me back to the present. I ran towards them and checked their condition. They are unconscious. I sent them to the hospital and looked at the direction where the creature flew away.
Mark Pov
I delivered them to the police officer. His expression was priceless when he saw me. I could not blame him for this. It was natural to fear.
I spotted Jason and saw his nervous face, and he was perhaps searching for me. I found a dark corner and changed back to human form.
Then I said Tiss to unblock the surveillance camera and walked towards Jason.
After he spotted me, his face regained its colour. He walked towards me, saying
"Where did you disappear to, Mark, without telling me anything? Your phone was out of coverage, and although I knew you would be safe but after seeing that thing, I began to panic, you know."
"I lost you in a crowd ", I said.
