Chapter 388 – Six Seconds
"Keep firing, don't stop for a damn second!"
Boom!
Immediately afterward, behind Frank's rebellious people, the explosion of a grenade was heard, and even the ground shook twice, which also drew everyone's attention.
"Report! What happened!"
Upon hearing his people's screams and the explosion of the grenade, Frank trembled. He knew that the enemies whom he had initially thought had reached a silent agreement had attacked them.
"You… eh…"
Boom! Boom! Boom!
But just as he turned around, Frank saw a strange-looking grenade land on the ground right beside him, and seconds later it exploded.
Everyone was stunned; the smoke and flashes left everyone incapacitated, and shortly after, out of the corner of his eye, Frank saw some black boots stepping on the ground.
He was startled and felt that he was in a very dangerous situation. He tried to get up, but he had lost his balance and the strength of his body was not enough. At the same time, he wanted to know what had happened to his people so that they could take charge of responding, but there was no movement.
And right at that moment, a strong kick struck his stomach. The severe pain caused Frank's eyes to widen, filled with disbelief. His body struggled constantly, his mouth let out a groan, and blood continued to flow from his mouth. All of his initial resistance had disappeared.
Securing Frank's body, Jason took out a rope to tie the man up and then said, "Target secured, begin the operation and take care of the enemies!"
He knew it was only a matter of time before the rest of the walkers from the city reached these streets; therefore, this operation had to be carried out quickly and they had to move to another location. If that wasn't the case, after taking care of all the walkers it would be very easy for the other enemies to find them.
After placing Frank under guard, Jason signaled to his people and everyone began to eliminate the enemies.
Bang Bang Bang!
Boom!
There were several stunning explosions in the surroundings, and the voices of people came from all around. Everyone was shouting for retreat, and some others were waiting for instructions from someone named Frank.
"Please, don't kill me!"
Bang Bang Bang!
A burst of bullets pierced the chest of the man who was begging for mercy, causing a spray of blood. The man from Frank's group slowly fell to the ground, unable to do anything to defend himself.
But the people around him had no time to pay attention to him. The walkers were getting closer and closer, and what surprised everyone was that Jason's group did not worry about any walkers at all.
Everyone stood indifferently in silence, not stopping their attacks with the firearms in their hands. They felt bullets being fired from all directions, and sparks splashed everywhere.
It was an outburst of desperation for Frank's people!
"Cough… cough… I can't hold on anymore!"
Under the erosion of the gas continuously expelled by the tear gas bombs, a young woman could no longer endure the torture. She covered her mouth and nose, ran out from behind the cars, and ran toward the outside of the smoke.
But before she could take a few steps, she was wounded in the leg by a bullet and fell heavily to the ground, coughing and groaning as she clutched her leg in pain.
"Cough, cough…"
"Damn it! Frank, what should we do now, you psychopathic son of a bitch?"
Seeing his companions around him fall one after another, beads of sweat slid down the forehead of Frank's second-in-command. He was also anxious when he saw those enormous walkers, and if you asked him, he would have preferred not to be in this place.
However, right now he was lying on the ground with a bullet wound in his abdomen.
He had only been a soldier in the past; he had never commanded such a large battle as this. He had always followed orders, and his previous thoughts were only his judgment based on experience.
The original plan was to capture the people who had followed them to the building and ask which organization they belonged to. It wasn't as if they were enemies or anything like that. However, everyone had to return fire at those people.
They had no other choice but to find out who Jack's group was, but everything had taken a completely different turn.
"Everyone get out of this place, don't be idiots!"
In the end, that man died under the gunfire of the masked people and died within a few seconds.
Bang Bang Bang!
The other members of the group naturally also heard the second-in-command's last words. When he spoke, everyone endured the pain in their eyes, raised their weapons, and fought to break out.
At this moment, as time passed, the thick smoke gradually became thinner, and the figures outside could already be vaguely seen. They aimed in that direction and began to suppress Jason's group's firepower.
"Wait!"
Seeing other people desperately covering him, one of the young men nodded heavily, took a Molotov cocktail, and rushed out from behind the cover.
The moment he stepped out, gunshots rang out and countless bullets flew toward him.
While some were killing the people on the ground, another group led by Daryl advanced toward the two enormous walkers that were right in front of the group.
"Targets at one hundred meters, preparing to eliminate special-class walkers!"
"FGM-148 Javelin missile launchers in position!"
"Locking targets!"
"Targets locked!"
"Fire!"
Rooaarr!!!
As soon as Daryl ordered the FGM-148 Javelin missile launchers to open fire, the soldiers operating these weapons pulled the trigger and two powerful missiles shot out.
Boom! Boom!
The missile impacts were powerful; many of the soldiers in the surroundings were shaken, and several others fell to the ground due to the nearby explosion. Thanks to the special suits, Jason's people were not greatly affected.
However, the explosion was too close, which could have caused more serious problems.
"I want confirmation of the elimination!"
A group of four soldiers slowly advanced into the impact zone, all of them sweating coldly under their powerful combat suits.
As they advanced, their hearts beat harder and harder. Just when they were a few steps away, the dust was still invading their field of vision. But at that moment, numerous faint footsteps were heard from behind the wall of smoke.
And at the moment the soldiers realized what was coming, it was already too late. From behind the smoke, dozens of walker figures leaped onto the soldiers' bodies.
There were many walkers, so many that it was impossible to count them. When Jason saw this, he did not panic. He took his radio and said, "Eliminate the walkers in close combat and have the machine guns do the work from afar!"
"Yes, sir!"
Bang Bang Bang!
The great horde of walkers that appeared out of nowhere quickly flooded the surroundings, but the soldiers reacted quickly and all drew their swords and prepared for combat.
