Chapter 516 - Chapter 516: Jiraiya's Wedding Arrangements

After returning to the moon, Toneri no longer monitored Earth directly. He had a far greater responsibility now — to observe the vast, distant reaches of the starry sky.

He had come to understand something crucial: the true threat to Earth was not from within, but from beyond — the Ōtsutsuki Clan.

Therefore, his new mission was to use the power of the Tenseigan to watch for any approaching Ōtsutsuki invaders and alert Naruto immediately if they appeared.

Naruto had warned him that two members of the Ōtsutsuki clan would arrive on Earth earlier than expected, searching for traces of Kaguya, and, failing that, would come seeking Naruto and the other tailed beasts.

But Naruto reassured Toneri, "Don't worry about them. If they come, just let me know right away — I'll handle it."

With that, Toneri relaxed. Confident in Naruto's strength, he turned his attention to the stars and began his watch in silence.

Back in Konoha

After Naruto had jokingly flipped his middle finger toward the sky, the strange sensation of being watched vanished almost instantly.

"Heh, I knew it. Toneri must've been spying on me as soon as he got back to the moon," Naruto muttered, shaking his head with an amused sigh before continuing down the road.

But as he walked, another thought suddenly struck him.

Toneri could use the Tenseigan to see every corner of Earth from the moon.

That included… private corners.

Naruto's eyes widened. "Wait a minute! What if he saw me and Hinata while we were—!"

He froze, face flushing red. "Man, that's not good!"

Scratching his head in frustration, he decided he needed to figure out a solution as soon as possible. Maybe he could use a barrier technique that blocked chakra-based observation.

He vaguely remembered such a sealing technique belonging to the Uzumaki Clan — a barrier that could prevent both chakra sensing and visual intrusion.

"Well, guess I'll ask Mom about it later," Naruto said to himself.

But that wasn't the priority right now. The main thing was to meet Jiraiya-sensei.

With that thought, Naruto picked up his pace, jogging toward Jiraiya's place.

Naruto rarely used the Flying Thunder God Technique for everyday travel. Unlike his father, Minato, he preferred walking through Konoha's streets — feeling the breeze, greeting villagers, and admiring how his home had grown and thrived.

Moments later, he arrived at the residence shared by Jiraiya and Tsunade — the Senju Clan's ancestral home.

Jiraiya had never owned his own house; when he returned to Konoha, he'd lived in a place once provided by the Third Hokage. Strictly speaking, it wasn't his.

So now that marriage was approaching, and given Tsunade's gambling debts, the two of them had… less than ideal financial stability.

Even though Jiraiya earned royalties from his books, his "research trips" at bathhouses and night bars consumed them quickly.

Let's face it — the man wasn't called "Pervy Sage" for nothing. He loved to "research" at the women's bath, and the ladies had to be… well-endowed.

Every time the royalties arrived, the money vanished within months.

So here they were — the legendary Sannin, one a compulsive gambler and the other a shameless flirt — trying to plan a wedding with empty wallets.

It was no wonder Tsunade had been yelling at Jiraiya lately.

And now, with her belly slowly growing — a clear sign of pregnancy — she'd already ordered Kakashi to step in as acting Hokage temporarily.

After all, she couldn't exactly stand at the Hokage desk heavily pregnant and unmarried.

That gave Jiraiya no choice but to find a way to earn money fast.

He contacted a publisher, worked with Sai to adapt his books into a manga series — with Naruto's help and promotion — and within months, it became a huge hit.

The royalties came pouring in. With the funds from Naruto as well, the wedding preparations were finally underway.

Meeting the Master

Naruto took a deep breath and knocked on the door.

A moment later, it creaked open, revealing Jiraiya's grinning face.

"Hey, Naruto! You're here! Get in, get in!"

"Ah, Pervy Sage," Naruto greeted warmly as Jiraiya pulled him inside.

Looking around, Naruto spotted Sai and Ino sitting in the living room. Upstairs, Tsunade, Shizune, and Sakura appeared near the railing.

"Who's there, Jiraiya?" Tsunade called down.

"It's Naruto!" Jiraiya replied.

"Naruto!"

Sakura and Shizune leaned over the railing to wave, and Naruto smiled and waved back.

Then Jiraiya slung an arm over his shoulder. "Come on, Naruto. I need your advice. This whole wedding thing is driving me nuts! I can't sort out half the stuff they're talking about!"

Naruto followed him to the couch and sat down. "Didn't you already go over most of this last time?"

Ino chuckled. "Tsunade-sama rejected almost everything again. We're basically starting over."

Naruto groaned. "Seriously?"

Tsunade's voice came from above, firm as ever. "What's wrong, Naruto? You have a problem with that?"

Naruto immediately waved his hands frantically. "No, no! No objections!"

Who in their right mind would argue with Tsunade — especially now that she was pregnant and hormonal? One punch from her could still send him flying through three walls.

Jiraiya scratched his head, chuckling nervously. "So yeah… help me out here."

Naruto sighed but smiled. "Alright. Let's figure this out together."

The trio — Sai, Naruto, and Jiraiya — got to work, sketching plans and discussing ideas. They proposed several drafts, each time submitting them to Tsunade for approval.

But just like a Hokage reviewing mission requests, Tsunade kept rejecting and modifying the plans.

Each time she did, Jiraiya's patience thinned.

But before he could explode, Naruto patted his shoulder, whispering, "Just let her win, Pervy Sage. Trust me — you'll thank me later."

Hours passed. The sun dipped lower, shadows stretching across the room. Finally, they reached a finalized wedding plan that Tsunade approved with a satisfied nod.

Naruto slumped back on the couch, exhaling deeply. "Man… this was harder than fighting Pain."

He remembered how simple his own wedding had been. The wedding planners had made a proposal; he showed it to Hinata, she smiled and said, "It's fine," and that was it. Easy.

But Jiraiya-sensei's wedding? A full-scale war of paperwork and opinions.

Still, they did it.

After the meeting, Naruto pulled Jiraiya aside. "Pervy Sage, you can just hire the same planning team that did mine. They'll handle everything perfectly — fast, too."

Jiraiya nodded eagerly. "Yeah, I was thinking the same thing. We've got the money now, so why not?"

"Exactly," Naruto said. "Once they start, they'll finish in a day. Oh — did you talk to Kakashi?"

"Yeah," Jiraiya replied. "He said once the plan's ready, I should hand it over and he'll take care of the rest."

"Perfect," Naruto said. "I'll stop by tonight to confirm it. No delays. Let's get this wedding done."

Jiraiya patted him on the shoulder, eyes softening. "Naruto… thanks for all this. You've really worked hard."

Naruto smiled. "C'mon, don't say that. This is how I repay you for everything you've done for me."

Jiraiya chuckled warmly. He didn't say anything more — he didn't need to.

Dinner at the Sannin's Table

By evening, the house filled with the scent of home-cooked food. Jiraiya had taken over the kitchen, sleeves rolled up, humming to himself as he cooked.

His skills surprised no one — back when Naruto traveled with him, it was usually Jiraiya who cooked their meals.

When the three legendary Sannin used to go on missions together, Jiraiya had been the unofficial cook then too.

Now, he laid out a full feast.

Sakura clasped her hands together and exclaimed, "Tsunade-sama, you're so lucky! Jiraiya-sama's cooking smells amazing!"

Tsunade smirked proudly, pretending to downplay it. "You haven't even tasted it yet."

Sakura giggled. "I don't need to — I can tell just by the smell!"

Naruto laughed. "Of course it smells good. When I trained with Pervy Sage, he cooked all our meals. They were the best!"

Shizune picked up her chopsticks and tried a bite of fish. Her eyes lit up. "Wow! This is incredible! Jiraiya-sama, you're not just a master of ninjutsu, your cooking's top-tier too!"

Jiraiya laughed heartily, taking off his apron and sitting down. "Heh, it's nothing! Just a few tricks I picked up over the years."

Everyone laughed and dug in. Tsunade, though pretending to be indifferent, couldn't hide the smile tugging at her lips.

No one dislikes hearing praise for their partner — especially when that partner is someone they've loved since youth.
