A sudden whoosh!
Naruto activated the Flying Thunder God mark he had placed on Obito earlier, instantly teleporting himself and Sasuke right behind Black Zetsu.
With a sharp pop, Naruto made his move—his hand shot forward like a black flash, plunging straight into Obito's chest. The Yang Release power from his Truth-Seeking Ball–formed shield surged through, completely locking Obito's body in place and seizing control of Black Zetsu clinging to him.
The result was… a bizarre sight.
Naruto was physically restraining Black Zetsu, who was possessing Obito… while Black Zetsu, in turn, was controlling Obito… who was still connected to Madara.
Three shinobi—strung together in a single chain of control.
Obito groaned in pain, while Black Zetsu's eyes widened in disbelief.
Black Zetsu: "Naruto… what the hell are you doing?!"
Naruto smirked.
Naruto: "What am I doing? Making sure you don't slither back to Madara, undo the seal, and bring Kaguya back to life. That would be a real problem."
Black Zetsu gritted his teeth.
Black Zetsu: "You… where did you learn to do this?!"
Sasuke cut in with a cold snort.
Sasuke: "Naruto, why waste your breath on him?"
Without another word, Sasuke moved directly in front of Madara and drove his own hand deep into Madara's chest, chakra flaring.
Madara winced, his brow furrowing.
Madara: "Kid… what are you doing?"
Sasuke's voice was like ice.
Sasuke: "Shut up. For someone who's been manipulated from start to finish, you're awfully arrogant. If I were you, I'd smash my own head against a wall."
Madara: "You—!"
At that moment, Tobirama, Hashirama, Minato, and Rin all arrived on the scene.
As Sasuke's Yin Release power surged, Black Zetsu realized, with horror, that the portion of himself latched onto Madara was slowly being peeled away.
Black Zetsu: "This… this is impossible! How can you separate me from Madara's body?! That shouldn't be possible!"
Then, his eyes narrowed as he sensed the energy Naruto and Sasuke were using.
Black Zetsu: "…That's the power of the Yin–Yang Release… but how? Especially you, Naruto—what's with the Truth-Seeking Balls behind you?!"
Naruto gave a knowing grin.
Naruto: "Didn't you claim to be the will of the Sage of Six Paths' mother? You should recognize this power—it came straight from the Sage himself."
That made Black Zetsu flinch.
Black Zetsu: "That unfilial son… he actually gave you the power to stop me from reviving Mother?!"
Sasuke's patience was gone.
Sasuke: "Enough talking."
He channeled more chakra, forcibly ripping the last fragments of Black Zetsu out of Madara's body.
Naruto, seeing the detachment complete, focused his Yang Release on Obito. First, he eradicated Madara's cursed seal and influence from Obito's heart. Then, he reinforced Obito's life force with another Yang shield to keep him alive.
Controlling Obito's movements, Naruto withdrew his arm from Madara's chest—only to pull as he did so, dragging the rest of Black Zetsu out like a parasite being ripped from its host.
Black Zetsu: "WAAAAHHH—!"
Without hesitation, Naruto formed a black staff from a Truth-Seeking Ball and slammed it into the ground, pinning Black Zetsu in place.
Black Zetsu: "You—let me go!"
Naruto ignored him and formed two more black rods, stabbing them through Black Zetsu's body with two heavy thunks. The living shadow howled in pain, nailed completely to the ground.
Meanwhile, Sasuke still had his hand embedded in Madara's chest, keeping him immobile.
Sasuke: "Naruto, what do you want to do with Madara?"
Naruto stepped forward, placing a hand on Madara's body. He called forth the chakra entrusted to him by all the tailed beasts, causing it to resonate with the bijū chakra inside Madara.
Madara grimaced.
Madara: "…You're going to pull the tailed beasts out of me?"
Naruto grinned.
Naruto: "Bingo. But no prize for guessing right."
With a sudden pull, Naruto's arm extended in a cloak of Kurama's chakra, yanking all the tailed beasts' chakra out at once. The sheer magnitude of power forced Naruto to leap back, bracing himself before he gave a final, violent tug.
With a tremendous whoosh, every single tailed beast was torn free from Madara's body. The Gedo Statue was ripped out as well, discarded onto the battlefield.
Sasuke withdrew his hand and stepped aside.
Madara screamed to the heavens, collapsing to his knees. Stripped of the bijū, he looked as though his entire life force had been drained.
Hashirama: "Madara!"
Hashirama rushed forward, catching Madara before he could hit the ground.
Madara's half-lidded eyes met his oldest friend's.
Madara: "…Hashirama… tell me. Was I really wrong? Was I truly deceived? Was all of this… just a lie?"
Hashirama sighed.
Hashirama: "Madara… it wasn't all your fault. You were deceived… and I failed you. I didn't stop you when I should have. I was too impatient, too focused on my own vision. We could have chosen a successor and worked toward peace together."
Madara gave a bitter smile, but his eyes said he knew it was far too late.
Sasuke, standing nearby, studied the two. Like him and Naruto, they were the reincarnations of Indra and Asura. Their fates had been tied to conflict. But unlike these two, Sasuke knew his and Naruto's story wouldn't end in tragedy.
Over on Naruto's side, the freed tailed beasts stirred.
Naruto: "Hey, you all okay?"
Son Gokū (Four-Tails): "Hah! Naruto, you really pulled it off!"
Kokuō (Five-Tails): "You saved us."
Chōmei (Seven-Tails): "Looks like the Sage didn't lie. You are the child of prophecy."
Shukaku, the One-Tail, scowled, glaring through Naruto toward the Nine-Tails sealed inside him.
Shukaku: "Oi, stinky fox! Why don't you come out here instead of hiding in there?"
Kurama scoffed from inside Naruto's mind.
Kurama: "If it weren't for me and Naruto, you wouldn't even be free, you flea-ridden tanuki."
Shukaku bristled.
Shukaku: "Naruto, let me in there! I'll show that furball who's boss!"
Naruto laughed, hands on his hips. The grudge between Shukaku and Kurama was ancient, and he'd seen it firsthand in his previous life—even as Hokage, whenever those two met, they inevitably fought.
Matatabi, the Two-Tails, glanced around.
Matatabi: "Where's Gyūki?"
Naruto's face fell slightly.
Naruto: "Killer B and Gyūki are still caught in the Infinite Tsukuyomi. They're… still on the tree."
Son Gokū's voice grew serious.
Son Gokū: "Naruto… looks like this war's over. What's your next move?"
Naruto: "I've got a few loose ends to tie up first."
He turned to Sasuke.
Naruto: "Seal it."
Sasuke nodded, slamming his palms together.
Sasuke: "Planetary Devastation!"
The ground split apart, and the Gedo Statue was wrapped in rising chunks of stone, dragged high into the sky as the boulders gathered and crushed inward.
Naruto walked over to Black Zetsu, who was still pinned to the earth.
Black Zetsu: "W-what are you doing, brat?!"
Naruto grinned.
Naruto: "If things went like last time, you'd be taking a trip to space right about now."
He yanked Black Zetsu free—black rods and all—and hurled him upward. Sasuke guided the growing satellite of rock toward him, and with a sickening impact, Black Zetsu was swallowed up inside the core.
Sasuke clenched his hand, and the rock sphere sealed shut, encasing him forever.
The battlefield finally fell silent.
