With Veyr conquering Planet Satoru, both Caleb and Mairon soon received their deployment orders, as they were granted a one-month notice period after which they were expected to report to their respective units and prepare for active duty as Lieutenants of the Cult.
The news carried a strange weight within the Skyshard mansion, as while the two boys could barely contain their excitement at finally stepping beyond the sealed world and witnessing the universe they had only heard about, Amanda found herself growing increasingly restless at the thought of them walking into a battlefield where she could no longer protect them.
And so, instead of delaying the inevitable, she chose to prepare them for it, as she called them down into her basement workshop that very day, and gave them a rudimentary run through of the armor she had forged.
