The hot water streamed down my body, washing away the last remnants of sleep — and last night's chaos. I closed my eyes, letting the steam wrap around me like a foggy escape.
Julia's face flashed in my mind, and I couldn't help but laugh. She really went from "Miss Ice Queen" to a one-night stand disaster in a blink. Typical Julia — all nerves and no brakes. That girl needed therapy… or maybe a few more nights like that to loosen up.
I stepped out of the shower, towel wrapped around me, water still dripping from my hair as I walked back into the bedroom.
Jason was lying across the bed, one arm behind his head, watching me like I was the only thing in the world worth looking at.
He grinned, voice low and teasing.
"You're trying to kill me, walking around like that."
I rolled my eyes. "Don't start, jason."
"Oh, I've already started."
He got up, closing the distance between us. His fingers gently brushed against the towel at my waist.
"Five minutes. That's all I ask."
I raised a brow. "We're supposed to be leaving."
"Exactly. Gotta burn some calories first."
He leaned in, lips grazing the side of my neck — that spot he knew made me weak. I shivered under his touch.
The towel dropped to the floor.
Jason's hands explored slowly, savoring every inch like he was learning me all over again. His mouth trailed kisses down my collarbone, then lower. I arched against him, breath catching as the heat between us built like a firestorm. His body pressed into mine, warm, solid, claiming.
I whispered his name, a moan escaping my lips as he guided me gently to the bed.
Everything melted into one blur of skin, breath, and heartbeat.
Until—
"Are you guys ready? We need to go!"
Julia's voice rang through the door like a slap of cold water.
Jason groaned, forehead resting against mine. "She has the worst timing."
"Ten minutes, Julia!" he yelled back, not moving.
We both heard her heavy sigh through the door.
I chuckled. "Told you it wasn't the time, babe."
"You never let me live."
"That's because I own your soul."
He laughed as we scrambled to dress, still glowing, still breathless — like fire just waiting to be lit again.
