Chapter 43 - Scarlett POV

Chapter 42 – Scarlett's POV

We were back. Back in our city. Back to reality.Back to my revenge ...

And for me, that meant two things: my job at Best Auto… and my revenge.

I was sitting at my desk, sipping my expresso coffee while checking the daily schedule for the Calloway small company Best Auto. The weather outside was warm and bright a beautiful summer day —a total contrast to the rain and storm I was preparing to unleash.

As I scanned through the emails and accounting files, something strange caught my eye.

A huge transaction—recurring every six months. A suspiciously large amount, and I mean billions, not millions. And for a small company like this one? That wasn't just odd. It was impossible even big company can afford this amount so imagine a tighny one ...

Why hadn't I noticed it before?

Simple. I had been too focused on scaring them . On destabilizing them one by one—starting with Lana.

But now… I was in a different phase. And Liam Calloway? He had more secrets than a locked vault. Lucky me. i can bring him down using multiples plans !

I chuckled quietly, forgetting I was still seated near both Liam and Sharon.

Sharon noticed. She narrowed her eyes slightly. I quickly closed the spreadsheet and erased the browser history as she stood and walked toward me.

"So," she said with a forced smile, "you and Jason—did you enjoy your vacation how it was ?"

I nodded, returning the smile with one of my own. "It was wonderful, thanks for asking sharon ."

Sharon gave a tight laugh. "Liam and I haven't had a vacation in ages."

I tilted my head. "Why don't you take one?"

She leaned closer, whispering with a bitter edge, "liam ? He's obsessed with work ."

I almost laughed out loud. Obsessed with work? No. Liam Calloway is obsessed with his past, with someone who came back into his life recently: Madeleine The pretty ginger haa former secretary...

The rest of the workday dragged. When I finally returned to the hidden apartment inside the Calloway house, I walked into the room that had become my secret base.

There, on the wall, was my investigation board—photos, notes, red string connecting names. A full-on detective's map.

Oh. I forgot to update it.

I took Lana's picture and marked it with a bold red X.

Game over for her.

Now, it was time to plan Liam's downfall.

I pinned his photo in the center and wrote out the three pillars of destruction:

1) What he did to my father.

I need proof that it was Liam behind the accident. That he was drunk and reckless that night.

2) The suspicious money.

Billions. Who is paying him and for what? Bribes? Laundering? What is he hiding?

3) The affair.

Liam is cheating on Sharon with his former secretary, Madeleine. And she's back in town.

This will be harder than Lana. He's smarter. Colder. And far more dangerous.

But that's fine.

I've come prepared.
