When the name "Helati" was mentioned, a ripple of laughter spread through the Eagle Regiment, leaving the female knight visibly confused.
"Is this how courteous the Templar Knights of the Church are?" Nancy raised her chin at the knight's hostile tone. "That's not exactly the way one should treat their rescuer."
"Rescuer?" The knight blinked, then looked around the hall, eyes sweeping over the soldiers before resting on Rus. Judging by the deference in their attitudes, she reached a conclusion she could hardly believe.
"…You're their leader? You defeated the Sand King?"
"Not defeated—executed," Nancy corrected, holding up a finger. "His head is still hanging at the gates of the Scorpion's Nest."
The knight stared at Rus.
Though Rus's build was considered strong by common standards, he didn't exactly exude the physique of a seasoned knight. His hands were smooth, without the hardened calluses that came from long-term training.
