Chapter 0 part 1- History

Hundreds of years ago civilization was living in peace.

Farmers and hunters were the richest people in the villages, because they were the ones who provided the food to the other people in exchange for gold.

One day a legendary hunter, his son and his band of twenty men travel far into the distant land. This hunter was praised from across the land for traveling far and wide and always returning with a newly discovered animal.

The hunter was clearly no novice to big ventures. He has large muscles yet slightly below average height. He possessed significant skill that rivals no other. He was in his late thirties and had very large amounts of facial hair to the point his beard flowed in the wind like wind on black curtains.

The huntsman decides to venture high in the mountains so that he may find more hides to sell. While also the huntsman crosses his fingers hoping that he will discover a new animal.

There they discovered a new specimen. This animal wasn't like anything they've ever seen, at first glance at a distance they could clearly see it was a boar.

This boar was different. It was unlike any boar the huntsman has seen. It was easily the biggest boar he's ever seen being up to six feet tall and about eleven-twelve feet in width, it would take the entire hunters party to take it back to the village.

The hunter and his band develop a strategy to take down the large boar with only spears and blow darts. Though the animal is unordinary the hunter is used to taking down new creatures he's never seen before, so this is different but very much the same.

Everything was in place… first five members ambushed the boar using blow darts causing it to charge toward them.

Then when the group led the boar led the bour into a corner the other fifteen charged at it with spears at both sides giving it no chance to recover.

This was a swift and basic way of defeating such an animal, and only with a fraction of the tactical genius that the huntsman had under his belt.

Nights later the boar's body has reached the homeland and everyone couldn't believe the size of the beast that the hunter brought this time. At this point the people are used to being surprised, with such a large amount of meat this will be able to feed the entire village for a couple of nights.

The hunter did with the boar what he would do with all of his discovered animals. He took off his head and mounted it on his wall with the other several heads in his house.

His son would stare at these treasures everyday wondering when it would be his turn to achieve such greatness eventually becoming a legend.

Sunsets pass after bringing down the beast, eventually the hunter returns to the mountains to seek out the boar species again.

Unlike last time he will attempt to tame the beast.

"This feat will surely make me more than a legend to our people. Once I tame the same beast everyone ate that night, I will ride it home and I'll become a God."

He brings together his band and after a while they discover a grand pool of the same large boar species. While the band huddled up above them all on a hill below them they saw dozens of the large tall boars all standing ear to ear from each other.

They see what can only be described as a sea of titans waiting to be tamed by the great hunter. For a normal man to attempt what he is about to do is merely suicide, but the hunter was a legend for a reason and this stunt was nothing new to him.

The hunter prone to the ground near the edge gives a signal for the band to stay put as he enters the wild animals pit of doom.

The hunter puts on what seems to be a boar skin cloak with its head as a hood in order to blend in.

He puts against his eye a telescope in order to search for the perfect boar in matter of greater size and height that is worthy enough to pursue.

After about five whole minutes the hunter finds it. The boar whose skin is different from the rest, that being a silverfish tone while the rest share the same reddish tan.

He drops down and with his boar disguise he creeps around the rest of the crowd to make his way to the silver beauty.

Now the hunter was just next to the silver skinned boar, he jumped high right on top of its back. The boar was immediately alert and tried to run the mysterious thing on its back even running into other boars trying.

Fortunately the hunter was an expert and has done this process on countless animals including dangerous predators. Once he mounts a beast there is no possible way to get him off, he has way too much experience to lose now.

After a lot of bumping and ramming the boar has now tired itself out and given up complete control to the hunter. The hunter now takes his very durable rope and hoists it into the silver boar's mouth so now the hunter is able to control it.

The hunter waves his arms to his band letting them know he's done it. His son looks through the telescope with excitement and waves back and the men cheer in praise and excitement.

Now it's time to execute phase two of his grand plan.

Less than an hour later every member except the hunter's son who was now riding with him is now saddled with a large boar.

Now it is finally phase three of the plan. Each member wielding a spear directs the rest of the boars who are not tamed and directs them like a horde of sheep. Next stop…. Home, with this large horde of strange boar the hunters band sends them home to be turned into a lasting supply of food and turning them into a farm. This is a significant catch by the Hunter.

*****

Eight months later the village has evolved for the better. After the Hunter has graciously given the village a large supply of abnormally large boars things get easier for the people. Boars were used as the village's new horses; they worked especially well in farms. They excelled in activities that had them use their bodies and physical labor. With a crack of a whip they were able to raise walls up in place and move gears that opened the gates of their home.

Things were better with them around and the Hunter was greatly rewarded for changing their village for good. His house has significantly become bigger, his house was a mansion that he inherited from the late elder of the village. This meant a bigger wall to mount his trophies and the son slept in one of the thirty bedrooms the mayor had to offer.

One night things had turned strange and the boars started to become disobedient. After a crack of a whip the beast would sit there for a while just looking at the sky. It took extra lashes in order to get them working again, but this was rather strange.

The villagers figured the beasts may be getting used to the lashes of the whips so they were forced to use more force than usual. But some even began fighting back and ramming into the villagers. Few were taken into hospitals and the boars who assaulted them were deemed to be unsafe so they were put down and cut into meat.

But the behavior became more frequent as the days went by. One thing stayed consistent, it was them looking up at the sky as if they were listening to something.

Many moons later and the activities kept happening. No matter how many boar's they put down and replace they all end up doing the same thing. Looking up at the sky as if something is calling to them

This phenomenon was taken into the attention of the village shaman. He was an old man who was good friends with the wise elder so the people always took his word.

All of the village men gathered into the shamans tent basically cramming themselves in.

The shaman had a reading and made contact with the thoughts of the boar.

He's seen only what he could understand.

The boars were being called by a mysterious and unknown God. This God seems to only be in contact with the Boars.

The people were in disbelief. The beasts were being called from the sky by a great and powerful boar God. The hunter who heard all of this was also in disbelief, but not what everyone else was thinking. But because everyone was buying into this rubbish. The Hunter believes the God's aren't real, certainly not any boar gods.

If they were any God it would be him he thinks. He was the one who filled the village's belly countless times. He was the one who tamed a titan of a monster on his first try and many more. Everyone is lucky he put his heart and soul into being a provider to his people for over forty years.

Of course he would never say that, it would sever his reputation tremendously if he goes around saying he's a God. Things like that he had to keep locked in his head since he was a child.

The crowd speaks in fear toward the shaman. " What should we do"?

"We should give the beast their freedom and send them off graciously to their God".

A sharp yell raises from the back of the tent.

It's the hunter and he's not happy with that suggestion.

"So you people are going to throw away the gift that me and my band provided for you?! Are you grateful for what I have given you!?"

The villagers turn their attention to their beloved hunter-

"Of course not Sir Hunter!"

"What are you talking about Sir Hunter?"

"Forgive us Sir Hunter!"

"We're sorry Sir Hunter!"

The Hunter smiles at this display. Some villagers even drop to their knees begging for forgiveness for even considering throwing away his gift.

Everyone except the Shaman is begging for forgiveness.

"Insolence… You are blind full of pride, I never liked you. You should have never inherited the village elders house, you let it get into your head."

The Hunter Is enraged by the Shamans statement. He shouts loudly, even startling the other villagers with his loud and dominant voice. " Don't forget you were the one who inherited the house first but you declined! Trying to be humble ...."

The shaman too shows visible annoyance in his face. "The elder even disliked you, you're nothing but a butcher. You inheriting his home brings disgrace to his entire legacy. He understood that you were too eccentric and didn't provide for the village through the kindness of your heart, but for praise and excitement."

The Hunter has just about had it and starts making his way toward the shaman in full speed running over the villagers with his sheer power.

Before the Hunter began to lay one finger on the Shaman a loud toll of the village bells rang at the main gates.

*****

The sun is setting and the gate keeper looks out the distance and spots what's none other than a boar.

Just above the boar is a white flag waving from the wind being held by a muscular mass of an arm.

Then there's a race in the keeper's heart. He rubs his eyes and looks again. A boar maybe six feet tall standing on two legs!

This level of trickery can pass off as one of the Hunters disguises, but he knows what he's seeing.

As it gets closer the keeper and the rest of his confused watcher look in horror as they begin to hear a voice.

"I COME IN PEACE!"

one of the gate keepers dropped to the ground in horror- "A-a a demon!"

There is a large commotion every loses their minds over the large half man half Boar mutant, and it speaks.

Before they know it the boar is standing right at the gate looking up at them waiting patiently.

"W-What do you want from us demons?!"

" I want you to allow passage into your village. I need to speak to your elder so that we may settle matters."

The gate keepers all look at each other. Unfortunately opening the gate for this demon was never an option. But a completely different manner is what to do with the demon. Should we attack it although it waves a white flag?

The best option for now is to ring the bell and let everyone know of the demon's presence.

Before long after ringing the bells the people were all over the place running into houses, but the farmers and few who were with the shaman all came running to the gate.

Without warning the gate begins to budge.

All the keepers above the gate felt a sudden quake and then heard a loud thud which caused them to lose their balance having some of them fall on their backs.

The demon boar was powerful enough to use its awesome strength to lift the raising gate with just one hand. All with the white flag still in its left hand.

Just like that the villagers are seeing a demon for the first time. This being is as if a boar took the form of a human body, while having human-like limbs the body was still clearly a boar. It is very reddish in color and it has a short tail.

It's naked yet all the boars are naked so it's not really important. The only thing that separates this human like a boar mutant… is the eyes.

They were very much human and they had bushy eyebrows. These features made it clear that it can express feelings, the expression it holds right now is… disdain.

Disdain that its brethren in its perspective is being subjugated to pure slavery. Being held captive here till the end of their days rather dying out of hard work or being eaten.

The demon stares down all of the villagers one by one, making eye contact with every individual. Keeping a longer eye contact with the hunter for a longer period than the others then finally moving on with the rest.

It drops its white flag to the ground- " I have come to take back my brothers and sisters you've enslaved and held captive here."

The villagers murmur and whispers amongst themselves-

"Does that mean it won't hurt us if we set them free"?

"I swear I won't eat boar ever again after this".

The shaman slowly walks through the crowd walking between the empty space between the demon and the villagers until they come face to face.

The shaman closes his eyes and bows his head in respect.

"Oh dear boar God, do not hold a grudge on us for we know not of what we've done."

The demon shakes its head.

" I am no God, but I am the messenger of my God who was blessed with the power of speech and the form of man…. I was but a lonely boar in the mountains before I was forsaken with knowledge of such a being. With it I was given an objective… To see that my brethren are freed and we return to the mountains so that we may praise our God from above."

Loud gasps are in the crowd and more whispers.

The shaman lifts his head and opens his eyes.

"Say no more".

He turns quickly to the crowd and points with his index finger.

"Have all boar freed at once".

The villagers nod their heads and without hesitation all go separate directions to their cages and farms in order to set free all of the animals.

The hunter lets out a loud yell.

"Enough"!

Everyone stares at him. There's nothing he could say now, because the village would be signing their own death if they were to defy a God.

"I've caught every single one of those animals! If you want them you will have to kill me for it."

He draws his combat butcher knife from his belt that he would commonly use on predators of average size.

"I will mount your head on my wall"!

The hunter charges at the demon with the knife raised above his head.

The demon braises itself in a ready position.

Then as soon as the hunter slashed the demon jumped out of the way a good six feet away from his range.

"Face me"!

Erupting from the crowd is the hunters band of twenty men getting ready to jump in with their master.

The demon boar sees this and warns them.

"Cease this. I didn't come here to harm you"!

Before long there were twenty-one swift and armed hunters trying to stab the demon boar.

Quite surprisingly the demon boar was quite nimble and swift with its movement it almost seemed impossible to hit it.

This was extremely trippy seeing a giant mass of muscle move around destroying the laws of physics. Whenever the hunter thought he was close to catching the demon boar, it was out of the way.

Eventually the hunter wound up stabbing a member with his knife. He immediately takes out the knife and continues chasing down the demon like nothing happened.

Members used the blow darts thinking it was impossible to dodge but the demon was at this point only a flash so the darts had no chance of hitting him.

Out of nowhere….. There is a slight shake on the earth and just like that everyone turned behind them and there was a large stampede of boars charging at the band.

Due to the band being trained professionals with beasts it took nothing to evade them.

The same couldn't be said for the man who got stabbed earlier…. His pain caused him to mister and eventually a boar was above him and trampling him on the ground.

He's dead…

It was common for a hunter to lose his fate to a beast but not quite like this.

The hunter is enraged and with one slash he brings down a boar and it dies.

"A life for a life".

He just stands there still without worry in the stampede of boars.

The stampede eventually makes it to the gate and successfully bursts through it running away freely. All making it out one by one, the line seems endless for the stampede I'd still raging outside and the people are either finding cover in houses or losing their lives getting trampled over.

The demon boar watches the chaos unfold ...With a brief moment it begins to shed a tear for he thought he could do this with any lives being lost.

"This wasn't how it was supposed to go".

His eyes are now filled with regret and melancholy. This is how it is, and just like that the demon drops to his knees.

Out of nowhere the hunter came up behind him to chop off his head.

With the demon's swift speed he evaded so quickly it looks like he teleported, but where?

The hunter's son screams out through the stampede.

"Behind you father"!

The Hunter quickly turns his body to see the demon towering over him with all he could see was chest.

It was the strangest feeling, it was as if all of the aggression left his body and all he could move was his head. He looked up at the demon and the demon was looking down back at him.

Pure shivers coursed through his body and out of nowhere he has an extreme pain at his chest that makes him jump just a little bit and make a painful groan.

He looked down to see what this was and all he saw was the demon's forearm.

The demon arm was sticking through the hunter's heart, almost completely destroying it.

The stampede begins to clear and almost all of the Boar make it outside the village gates.

The Hunters band and his son all see the demon's hand sticking out of his back. The demon's hand is balled into a fist and it's fully covered in blood.

The demon is in a leveled position so it could reach the hunters torso with its feet sprawled apart with one in front of the other.

The demon quickly pulls his entire fist out of the man's chest and stands there for 5 whole seconds before walking off to the now broken open gate.

The hunters band all run at their leader who should no longer be standing here. This was nothing but paranormal, then again the Hunter was no ordinary man.

He's always been able to pull off the impossible and provide for his community. Rather it had been done for praise from his peers or not he still did it while no one else could.

The Hunter's eyes are wide open, still frozen with the surprised expression of the demon's presence in front of him.

No one dared to touch the slouched body. Everyone just stared at him at his moment of silence. Everyone agreed not to touch him except his son hoping that this isn't reality.

"Dad"?

He placed one finger on him and suddenly the body collapses and eventually….. so did he.

A fitting yet tragic end to a legend.
