Chapter 3 - Chapter 3 : Skills Part 2

Dantalian struggled to find what he wanted. Out of curiosity, he spent a few minutes looking through the skills. He found no skills capable of annihilating a planet. 'Phew, I'm safe. Based on the number of skill slots that "Spatial Body" takes up, it's safe to assume that there are no abilities capable of annihilating planets or simply god like beings, there must be limit. This means I don't necessarily have to deal with walking human masses of destruction. It seems mythical skills often take up two or more skill slots. I honestly have far too many questions, but I want to avoid asking too many. Main characters in novels tend to find out information that they're too under-levelled for and end up spending and risking their lives trying to get stronger to combat threats far beyond their league. I hated overpowered characters and criticized the authors in the comment section, but honestly, now that I'm in the position of these characters, I'm quite nervous. After all, I don't want to die! Sigh. Let's just focus. Ah, it exists! It actually exists, and it's 1 slot!

Dantalian found what he needed after searching a few times. A skill that was essential for all main characters in the beginning of a novel. 'My plans can officially start. Well, I lack information, but for now, this is a good start'. He looked at the skill with a wide grin.

Skill: Second Mind

Requirement: One slot

Tier: Legendary Abilities:

Instant Data Processing (passive, always active): This skill allows users to read and absorb information at an extremely fast rate, categorize knowledge, and store it in a structured way, allowing for easy recall later. It summarizes complex topics in simple terms, making it perfect for someone not too intellectual.

Combat Analysis (active, low energy use): Predict enemy movement based on battle patterns and suggest the best counterattacks in real time. Can suggest optimal routes of escape or attack in dangerous situations.

Memory Storage and Recall (passive and active in use): Store vast amounts of information, experiences, and observations. Replay past experiences with near-perfect clarity.

Thought Acceleration (limited use, required focus): Temporarily accelerates mental processing, making time appear to be slow in his mind. It can't be used constantly as it causes mental strain after extended use.

Appraisal: Analyze objects, creatures and skills. Providing details of their strengths and weaknesses and attributes. works by scanning the target and instantly, processing information.

Weaknesses:

Appraisal can fail if users knowledge, experience and skill is lower compared to opponent being appraised, High ranked entity can resist being appraised or provide false information. More powerful enemies may receive a warning that they are being appraised, mythical tier skills cannot be appraised unless skill evolves to mythical tier,

Doesn't improve intelligence. Not fully autonomously capable of assisting and not making decisions without the master's involvement.

Mental overload is possible. Using Thought Acceleration too much can cause headaches, dizziness, mental fatigue, or potentially make him pass out.

Limited by input ability. Requires existing information to be processed. Cannot process information that the user is not able to access or hasn't been exposed to yet.

Dantalian had a wide grin as he smiled in satisfaction. He would have preferred having a system, but this was the best possible case. He had zero understanding of what the world he was going to would be like and no understanding of what the dangers were. The best thing he could do was find as much data as possible when he arrived and try to survive—that was the best thing he could do now. This skill would allow someone like him—while he wasn't saying he was the dumbest person in the room, he wasn't exactly the smartest—to make progress. Dantalian excitedly looked for the third skill.

Skill: Loyal Subordinate Bestowal

Tier: Legendary Abilities:

Required skill slot :1 (Recommended that the ability be paired with Second Mind)

Power Bestowal (active, requires contact or focus): Grants skills, enhancements, or buffs to subordinates. The quality and potency of bestowed power depend on the recipient's loyalty and potential. If loyalty is low or wavering, the granted skill will be weak or temporary.

Skill Enhancement and Modification (active, requires energy): Capable of modifying or enhancing the abilities of subordinates over time. Enhancements are not instant and require effort and training from the recipient.

Revocation of Power (passive and active, requires focus): Upon betrayal, a subordinate loses their skills, or their skills weaken or completely disappear. If the betrayal is severe, the skill could cause side effects and backfire on the subordinates.

Weaknesses:

Limited Bestowal Skills (passive, hard limit): Cannot bestow an infinite number of skills. Can only bestow skills to three to five subordinates at once. Removing a skill from one person allows it to be granted to another, but revoking a skill takes time.

Cannot grant power stronger than one's own. The ability cannot grant skills higher than the owner's level.

Energy consumption increases with stronger bestows. If an attempt is made to bestow too many abilities at once, the skill can cause severe exhaustion or reduced personal combat ability.

Subordinates must train in these bestowed skills to master them.

Loyalty and trust are crucial. If a subordinate's loyalty waivers, their abilities will be weak.

Dantalian nodded.' Hmm, this is good. This skill should allow me to properly allocate my own personal army. I'm not quite sure how my life is going to be in this world, so I need to properly make measures. One of those measures is having powerful subordinates. I'm not stupid enough to assume I'm going to be able to take over the world or be invincible in it. After all, if I can have these abilities, I can't suppose someone else doesn't have them, I need to have a proper plan.'

Skill Name: Abyss Veil

Tier: Legendary

Skill Slot: 1 Abilities:

Unreadable Presence (passive): Makes the user's status or skills incapable of being properly perceived. Appraisal-type skills fail, only returning nonsensical or vague information (e.g., "Unknown entity" or "mind control abilities fail").

Skill Reflection and Corruption (passive, backlash effect): Debuffs and mind-altering abilities have a high chance of failing outright . If a debuff fails, the caster suffers partial backlash (dizziness, mental strain, or momentary illusions). The stronger the attempt, the greater the backlash.

Reality Distortion (active, limited duration) & Perception Collapse (active, requires energy, effects a target or small area): Targeted enemy or small area experiences complete sensory disarray, causing loss of direction and misinterpreted movements.

They cannot distinguish real attacks from illusions and may experience mild vertigo, hallucination, or instinctive fear. Creates a localized void field that makes it impossible to detect

Unpredictable in combat, shifting illusion. This effect doesn't erase physical presence but causes hesitation, uncertainty, and misjudgment.

Weaknesses:

Not true immunity. The ability grants resistance to mind-altering effects and debuffs, but extreme force or high-tier abilities can still affect it, especially if the enemy's abilities are a level higher than this ability.

Skill reflection is inconsistent. The stronger the enemy, the less likely the skill will backfire. Instead, it may cause minor disruptions rather than full backlash.

Perception Collapse requires focus. If the user of the ability is distracted, it may fail or lose effectiveness early.

Reality Distortion has limits. It cannot distort reality truly—only causes confusion and perception issues. Enemies relying on raw instinct, non-visual senses, or brute force can fight through the effect.

Dantalian couldn't help but chuckle out loud. "Kek! I found it—the ultimate bluff skill! Ha ha ha! To be honest, I'm still trying to wrap my head around everything. The best thing to have right now, from what I remember in those novels, is a skill that allows me to bluff my way through everything. This skill is perfect! This is basically a survival skill for all newbies in this world. I can feel it—I'm on my way to greatness!

Skill: Martial Apex

Tier: Legendary

 Requirements: One slot

Abilities:

Perfect Technique:Flawless Execution (passive) & Combat Adaptation Instinctive Mastery (passive): Automatically learns and refines physical fighting styles encountered, including quick grasp of ones own skills. Capable of copying techniques after facing them and allows quicker adaption—needs short term training.

Capable of parrying strikes and performing movements with optimal efficiency, ensuring speed, power, and endurance remain at peak levels. Even an amateur weapon, when used with this skill, can become deadly.

Weapon Synchronization: Ultimate Versatility (passive) &Limitless Combat: Peak Physique Efficiency (passive): Muscle control, stamina usage, and pain tolerance are optimized to superhuman levels. Can fight for extended periods without noticeable fatigue, pain, or injury. Capable of dodging attacks on instinct. Movements feel preordained, instantaneous, and allow him to predict enemy movements and adjust in real time. Heightened awareness in combat.

Can wield any weapon with master-level proficiency. Capable of adjusting fighting styles instantly, combining different weapon techniques seamlessly, creating nearly any combat sequence.

Weaknesses:

No passive strength enhancement. Does not increase raw strength beyond its natural physical limits. Stronger opponents can still overpower you physically.

Not invulnerable. Can still be hit.

Still relies on the physical body. If the body is injured, performance will drop. Can be overwhelmed by pure speed or strength of a higher level opponent or skill.

While skills are automatically learned , techniques of higher martial prowess require time to master and learn and copy.

Skill: Mental Domination

Tier: Mythical

Requirements: Three slots Abilities:

Telekinetic Mastery (active): Manipulate objects of any size or weight with near precision. Objects can be crushed, projected, pulled, or moved with absolute control. Can manipulate multiple objects at once and even manipulate or reshape matter to a certain degree for example by reshaping the shape of a physical substance like a wall , water into creating barriers or entire structures.

Mental Fortress (passive, physique invulnerability): Shields the mind from all external mental or psychic influences, including mind reading, mind control, and emotional manipulation. Psychic-based attacks have little to no effect. Can resist extreme fatigue, pain, or psychic exhaustion.

Kinetic Overload (active): Release of excess energy. The user can store and concentrate telekinetic energy and then release it in a massive burst.

Psychic Domination (active, mental manipulation): Can assert dominance over the minds of others within a limited range, turning enemies into cowards under their control. The level of control depends on the mental strength of the target.

Mental and physical Reformation (active): Self-healing and mind enhancement. The user can mentally reconfigure their body and mind to heal injuries or enhance their abilities, speeding up recovery.

Weaknesses:

Requires extremely high energy. Constant use of abilities can drain the user's energy. Using Kinetic Overload or Psychic Domination repeatedly puts a strain on the mind, leaving the user vulnerable to exhaustion.

Telekinetic abilities are limited by range. Fine control becomes more difficult at long distances, requiring the user to maintain mental focus over large areas.

Psychic Domination is mentally taxing, especially when controlling multiple or powerful minds. If the user loses control, there's a risk of backlash and mental damage.

Increased vulnerability to sentimental magic. While the skill grants near invulnerability to psychic attacks, abilities interacting directly with the spirit or soul can harm the mind.

Dantalian looked over the ability. He wasn't sure if he should pick it, but a lot of what he wanted was offered by this skill. He feared that, even though he might have good physical skills that made him a good fighter, there were many unknowns in the world he was going to. Based on the skills that existed, he knew while god-like abilities didn't exist, at least at cosmic-level entities… hopefully…. Then again due to the presence of Ten, he feared that might not be the case. That's why, even though this skill looked like it required a lot he still thought is was quite cheap, he was willing to take the risk. 'Sigh, I would have honestly preferred another skill that only took up 1 skill slot, but this ability was entirely too good to pass up. In the end, I don't want to admit it, but I kind of feel what those scaredy-cat protagonists felt when they were reincarnated. The unknown truly is terrifying. I did my best to find abilities that would make me impossible to kill, but based on what I could see, that was not possible. This world, at the very least the world Ten is sending me to, seems to require a balanced approach. It seemed the maker of this world designed it so that no one should be unkillable hence all skills had clear weaknesses. I would have preferred my cheat be something like that, but I don't also want to deal with an enemy I can't kill. After all, if I choose the skill that makes me unkillable, there's a possibility someone else has a skill that makes them unkillable'.
