Sunny closed the flower shop and went home. Unfortunately she didn't come home tthat night.
Melissa and Ariana went to the flower shop the next morning. "Excuse me.... Is Sunny here?" Melissa asked. "No... I haven't seen her this morning. I've been expecting her, she needs to deliver an order to a client" Olivia said.
"Where could she be?" Ariana asked. "Thank you" Melissa said. She pulled Ariana out of the shop.
"I have a bad feeling about this" Ariana said. "Hey... Let's be positive. She might be close by" Melissa said. "Her phone is turned off Melissa... How positive do you want me to be?" Ariana asked.
"Let's head to your place... She might show up there" Melissa said.
They got to the venue, Melissa had to meet Antonio. "Where have you been?" Antonio asked. "I accompanied Ariana to check out something" Melissa said.
"Alright... What do you think I should wear to the wedding?" Antonio asked. "Honestly you'll look breathtaking in whatever you decide to wear" Melissa said.
"You always have your way with words" Antonio said. "By the way what about your board meeting this afternoon?" Melissa asked.
"Cancel it.... I need to be here for my bro" Antonio said. "You seem close" Melissa said.
"We've been best friends since childhood" Antonio said. "I see" Melissa said.
"How did you meet your friends?" Antonio asked. "We met....."
The door swung open with a bang causing Melissa to pause. "Melissa come immediately. We need you" Roberto said.
"W... Why?" Melissa asked. "It's Ariana she's crying. She refused to talk to anyone.... She wants you" Roberto said.
Melissa ran outside to meet Ariana. She saw Ariana on her knees, she was holding her phone like a lifeline.
"Hey... Baby... Baby are you alright? What's the problem?" Melissa asked. Ariana hands the phone to Melissa.
Melissa looks at the phone, the call was still on. "Hello who is this?" Melissa asked. "It's me Pengxi"
"How the fuck did you get this number?" Melissa asked. "That's not important right now. What I want to know is why the fuck my niece is halfway across the world in China" Pengxi said.
"What?" Melissa asked in confusion. "Yeah.... She's having breakfast with my brother as we speak. How is it possible that you failed to protect her?" Pengxi asked.
"We didn't.... I didn't know.... I.... Shit..... This can't be happening.... What's the way forward?" Melissa asked.
"I'll call you later, I need to go downstairs" Pengxi said as he ends the call.
Melissa puts the phone in her pocket. Roberto rushed to Ariana. "What's wrong?" Roberto asked. "It's nothing serious" Melissa said.
"If it's not serious then why is she crying?" Samantha asked. "I knew something was wrong this morning... I should have known" Ariana said in a panic.
"Ariana.... Behave" Melissa said. "Behave? Behave after everything that has happened?" Ariana asked. "It will be fine.... There's always a way out" Melissa said.
"Is there something you'll like to talk about?" Roberto asked. "No.... I'll take her inside" Melissa said.
She took Ariana to a room. Melissa paced the room while Ariana had both her hands on her head.
"Son of an actual bitch... I can't believe... After everything. We promised to be there. Shit.... We couldn't protect her... Now she's far... Christ on a stick.... What if he hurts her? What if he forces her to marry a psychopath?"Ariana asked.
"No... There must be a way out" Melissa said. Her phone rang.
"Hello Melissa" Audrey said. "What's up?" Melissa asked. "Is Sunny with you?"
"No" Melissa replied. "Why is my tracking device saying she's in China?" Audrey asked.
"Because it's true" Melissa replied. "How is that possible?" Audrey asked. "You ought to know the answer by now" Melissa said.
"She could be in trouble"
"I know" Melissa replied. "He could hurt her" Audrey said.
"I know" Melissa replied. "It wouldn't be easy getting her out of there" Audrey said. "I know"
"How was she discovered?" Audrey asked.
"I don't know" Melissa replied in frustration. "He isn't going to give her up so easily"
"Jesus!! Do you think I don't know that? I'm fucking aware. I know I fucked up. I know I was careless. But the question now is what is the way forward?"
"I can book a flight for you to China, you and Ariana. Go bring our baby back" Audrey said "There's a slight problem with that arrangement.... I mean Ariana is getting married in two days. Leaving now would only cause problems. I mean If he finds out that she left the country.... It would be a disaster" Melissa said.
"I am going with you" Ariana said.
"You are not going anywhere. You would stay right here, you will attend your wedding. I will handle things" Melissa said.
"You don't have the right to tell me what to do and what not to do. I am not a child. Do you want me to sit back and do nothing? I am going to find Sunny with you and there's nothing you would do that would ever change my mind"
"We promised to protect her. We promise to look out for her.... to be there when she needed us. She has always been there for us and now that It's our turn, you want me to sit back fold my arms or rather wear a wedding dress. Fuck no I'm going and there's nothing you can do to stop me" Ariana said.
"Ariana.. listen to me" Melissa said. "No.... I am not listening to you. I will go and that is fucking final. Got that?" Ariana said.
"That's settled. I'll book two tickets then" Audrey said.
There was a knock on the door. "Ariana is everything alright?" Roberto asked. "I am fine... I just need to rest" Ariana replied.
"Alright.... Dad wants me to accompany him to an occasion. So I'll see you at home" Roberto said. "Alright... Enjoy yourself" Ariana said.
"It's settled we would leave tonight.... I'll drop baby with Abuela" Melissa whispered. "Okay" Ariana replied.
Later in the evening. Melissa and Ariana rented a hotel for the night since their flight was the next morning.
Ariana dropped a note for Roberto saying she has to handle something. She'll be back soon and once she's back they'll have the wedding.
Melissa and Ariana dropped their phones and everything valuable. Audrey always said your cellphone can be tracked even when it's turned off.
That's why they left everything behind. "Next up China" Melissa said as they both boarded the plane.
