"Minah, I don't know if you have seen my texts yet, since you aren't picking up my calls or responding to any of them. But I am coming over. I finally have some time off, so I am coming to you and we are having lunch, no, it's not on the table."
Ending the voicemail, I lock my phone and start jogging lightly towards the subway, as I pull up the collars higher on my chin.
The weather is getting colder each day, and soon it will be winter. I am not a fan of winter. I prefer rain to winter, is just stiff cold. Snow everywhere.
The kind of cold that makes limbs get heavier, which also means I won't be going out as often. I won't be taking walks as I like.
My bucket hat is covering half of my face, and the collar is hitched up to my chin as I walk through the city unrecognized.
Soon, I am in the suburbs, and it's not as loud or crowded as it was in the city. The train takes me an hour to reach here.
