Liam's POV
I couldn't move.
No matter how hard I tried, my body refused to respond. It was as though my limbs had turned to stone, frozen by shock. My breathing grew shallow, my heart thudding loudly in my ears. I blinked, once, twice—still unable to believe what I was seeing.
It was her.
My sister.
Anna.
The same Anna I had longed for, searched for, ached for… and there she was—chained down like an animal, like some forgotten prisoner rotting in a forgotten cell. Her arms were bound in rusted cuffs, her legs bruised and restrained. Her hair was matted, her face smeared with dirt, and yet… it was still her. I would know her anywhere.
My throat dried up. My voice failed me.
"What a wonderful family reunion," a familiar voice drawled, slicing through the silence like a knife. "Oh, how I wish I hadn't killed your parents. That would've made this moment so much more poetic."
I turned sharply.
Zeke.
