ZEKE'S POV
I knew I wasn't strong enough—I could feel it. The poison that had been given to me was still inside, lingering in my system, even though the squeezed Flower of Lily was supposed to neutralize it.
I tried to keep myself hidden, blending in as much as possible while carefully studying everyone around me.
"Under whose authority?" I questioned. I could see the surprised looks flashing across their faces, but my main focus was on one person—Vaelith.
"I wasn't expecting you to pull so many strings just to get in here," he said, a smug smile stretched across his face. "Let me guess—your minors stole the antidote from my room?"
"I thought you said you had him under control?" a mocking voice cut in from the side.
That face... I'd seen it before. And then, in a heartbeat, I recognized her.
"I think we've met before—when you were begging for your life, right?" I said, the memory sharp and vivid in my mind.
