Samantha looked down at herself. She was hurt? She hadn't even noticed the impact she made with the floor had caused her skin to bruise badly. But she knew I wasn't anything to raise an alarm for.
"I-it's fine. I'm fine. T-there's nothing to worry about." She stuttered, gathering her thing, scattered all over the road as fast as she could so she could just escape him.
"It looks like it can get infected." He pointed out, not convinced one bit by her words. "Let's get you examined by the doctor to ensure you're fine."
"A doctor for a minor wound? No, thank you. I can take care of it myself if It ends up bad." She refused. Standing from her crouched position. A slight wince came from her lips as she stood straight and she knew it was just more than the bruise. She had a slight sprain but she knew she couldn't just go to a hospital for something so minor.
She couldn't even afford to pay for her feeding, how will she be able to pay a minor hospital bill. A small tut of frustrations came from her and he just stood there looking at her for a few seconds before stepping forward.
Without asking for her permission, he grabbed her waist effortlessly, lifting her in his arms. This stunned her and before She could protest, she was already inside his fancy looking car which she almost screamed as her feet stepped inside. It was obvious it was custom made but he didn't seem to care.
"The hospital." He said plainly and the driver obeyed instantly.
She was still speechless as she looked outside to see them moving but she couldn't feel the motion at all. She had heard and seen these kind of cars but she never thought she would be in one.
She glanced over at him seated there. He looked so reserved with his back leaned against the seat, looking so calm and elegant. She didn't take her time to look at him well but he looked so beautiful with his almost pale skin and long fingers scrolling thought his iPad.
"Are demons always this beautiful?" she whispered to herself.
Despite her words being in a whisper, Darian caught it clearly and involuntarily, the corner of his lips curled up in a small smirk. Didn't she know elite demons had enhanced hearing?
"We're here…"
Before the driver could complete his sentence Darian glared at him, shutting him up instantly. Darian turned to face her and once again, he had lifted her and they were out of the car already.
"Uh…I can walk…" she commented, her face going all red in embarrassment. She could feel the eyes of everyone they passed by on them, making her bury her face in his chest without even realizing.
He froze for a bit. A weird sensation passed through his entire body like a jolt of electricity but it was too brief for Samantha to even notice but it played out in slow motion to him. It made him look down at her to see her face buried in his chest even though they've only reacted twice before now and in an awkward position.
The elevator dinged and they came face to face with a tall man who stared back at them. He Just stood there as if he couldn't believe his eyes. He was dressed in a white coat with a tag making it obvious he was a doctor.
"Is that you, Darian?" He asked, his tone showing how shocked he was.
"Come check up on her at once. I don't have the time to deal with you." he said coldly, walking past him calmly. Samantha finally looked up to take in her surroundings. It was all fancy looking, making her wonder if this really was a hospital.
As she was set down on a seat and Darian stepped away from her line of sight, she set her eyes on the individual walking behind him. "Theodore Craig." She mouthed in shock and he gave her a warm smile.
"You know about me?" he smiled to his eyes, his dimples putting themselves on display. "I'm so popular."
Of course, you are popular. She wanted to scream. She might not be up to date with the news herself but Kaia was always up to everything and always told her about everything. Theodore was one of the most popular elite demon doctor. He didn't just have a list of successful degrees, his jobs we're always perfect and he had the looks girls fawn over.
So that meant this was Craig hospital. One of the largest in the entire country. Why would he bring her to such an elite hospital just for a scratch? And to an elite doctor?
He was even known as the royal doctor.
Realizing this, she turned her head to look at Darian who was casually leaning against the wall. From the way he spoke earlier, it was obvious they were on close and friendly terms.
If Darian knew someone who was as high ranking as Theodore and doesn't even flinch, who is he?
