Chapter 127 - Tenko unleashed

Tenko stood before the fallen Rei, radiating immense anger. Athena, observing from her ethereal plane, scoffed. "You are ruining my plan, you fox!" she snarled. She extended her hand, attempting to seize control of Tenko's mind, but a searing thunder coursed through her veins. Her body writhed in pain, her mind distorting under the sheer, redundant energy unleashed by Rei's last desperate act of controlling Tenko. "What is this? Stop it! Stop it! So many redundant energy! I can't handle it!" she shrieked, her mind overwhelmed by the chaotic influx of information. With a final, agonizing gasp, she collapsed, her divine influence momentarily severed.

On the outside, Tenko saw Bart, Eugene, and Hanna. Being a deadly beast, he could discern even the faintest sounds and noticed Hanna continuously chanting magic incantations under her breath. He didn't know Hanna, but he recognized the controlled states of Bart and Eugene. Tenko gently but firmly grabbed Rei's shirt in his mouth and used a wind bomb to leap from one place to another, rapidly putting distance between them and the immediate danger.

Bart, his movements still somewhat stiff from Athena's influence, used his earth spell to jump and follow. Hanna and Eugene, driven by the lingering control, ran after Tenko's path. Tenko's eyes burned with anger, yet he observed that Bart's and Eugene's mind control was weakening. Tenko carefully released Rei from his mouth, then used a wind bomb on Rei's back, sending him flying out of the immediate town area, a desperate attempt to put him out of harm's way.

Tenko landed atop a building, then launched a wind slice at Hanna and Eugene. Eugene instinctively raised his hand, forming a holy barrier to deflect Tenko's attack. But Tenko, using his wind to increase his speed, instantly appeared behind them and swiped with his claws. Hanna, quick-witted, used her sword to create an inferno, forcing Tenko to back away and dodge. He then unleashed a wind blast, knocking Bart, who was trying to get to Rei, off his feet. Hanna created another sword slice, forming an inferno that seemed to engulf Tenko. Or so they thought. As the flames dissipated, they saw an earth wall that Tenko had conjured, protecting himself.

Eugene then used Holy Magic: Weakening on Tenko. As the golden light enveloped Tenko, he felt his strength wane, but he immediately used a wind current to bolster his speed, swiftly escaping the weakening effect. He moved towards Bart and sliced his claw across Bart's back. Tenko then scattered dust using his earth spell: Dust Screen and ignited it with a spark, causing a dust explosion. While not massive, it was strong enough to knock Bart unconscious. Eugene, approaching Tenko from behind, used Holy Cage magic to trap Tenko. Tenko was heavily weakened and unable to move at his usual speed; the Holy Magic: Weakening had further debilitated him, rendering him unable to break free from the cage.

Hanna and Eugene, still under partial control, moved towards where Rei had fallen. Suddenly, an earth wall erupted, blocking their path. It was Bart, who, though still lying on the ground, had mustered enough strength to stop them. "Stop! I won't let you do this!" he gasped. Hanna attempted to jump over the earth wall, but Bart wasn't giving up. "Earth Spikes!" he roared, summoning sharp earthen spikes atop the wall to deter her. Seeing this, Hanna decided to eliminate Bart first.

"Stop! You are being controlled, Eugene!" Bart pleaded, but Eugene and Hanna slowly advanced. "So be it!" Bart declared. He used Earth Cage, encasing them both in a dome of earth. However, in mere seconds, fire began erupting from cracks in the earthen dome. Bart, desperate, roared, "Earth Spikes!" He used his earth spikes on the Holy Cage that trapped Tenko, desperately trying to break it. "Work... work..." he muttered, straining. The inferno from the earth cage intensified, and cracks began forming in the holy cage as well. As the holy cage shattered, the earth cage simultaneously broke apart.

Hanna attacked with another sword slice, creating an inferno, but Tenko, now freed from the holy cage, used a wind blast to dissipate the flames. Bart, gathering all his remaining strength, summoned an "Earth Hammer." A blunt, slanted pillar of earth formed behind Eugene and slammed into his head, knocking him unconscious. Bart, having expended everything, also fell unconscious. The Holy Magic: Weakening that had covered Tenko finally faded away.

Hanna launched another attack. Unlike her usual sword slice, she pierced the air with her sword, and javelin-like fire formed from the blade. Tenko used a wind bomb to jump and unleashed a wind blast, but Hanna parried it with her piercing, javelin-like fire attacks. Tenko landed on the ground, and wind began swirling around him, covering him in a whirlwind. He then unleashed a powerful whirlwind blast. Hanna retaliated with her inferno, but Tenko had been waiting for this opportunity. The fire mixed with the whirlwind, transforming into a flaming cycle that engulfed Hanna. However, Hanna used a Holy Magic Barrier to deflect it.

Tenko knew he was weakening; he couldn't maintain this level of fight. Hanna seemed limitless. She charged at Tenko, creating another inferno with her sword, but Tenko dodged and used earth to create a huge claw, swiping at her. She dodged again. Tenko scattered dust around her and caused a dust explosion, but she quickly formed a holy barrier around herself, avoiding the blast. Tenko was growing frustrated. He used his flames on her, but she dodged and unleashed her inferno on him.

Tenko noticed that Bart and Eugene were nearby. If he needed to fight with fire, he had to lure her elsewhere. He used a wind bomb to jump, leaping from one building to another. Hanna followed, attacking him with infernos, but Tenko skillfully dodged her strikes. He created an earth cage to trap her, but Hanna used her inferno to escape. Tenko then used a water spell: Flood, filling the entire cage with water to contain her. Tenko kept the earth cage sealed, determined not to let her escape. As time slowly passed, Tenko heard nothing from inside. When he cautiously opened the earth cage, he saw that Hanna was no longer there; instead, there was a large hole in the ground. Tenko didn't linger any longer and immediately went to find Rei.
