Fiona and Bradford parted ways. She hadn't even bothered to ask him how he came back to see that Kael was harassing her. Maybe he was among one of the spectators that gathered around, and didn't just stand there but came to help her.
She found her way back to Furry Canines. The ride was quiet and she rested her back against the chair while looking outside.
The chill from the air conditioning engulfed her, making her mind feel at rest. She closed her eyes and stopped looking outside. Only one image played in her head, it was the doctor. She kept seeing his image as she closed her eyes.
Her mind was thinking about him and how he appeared to save her. She tried to brush the thoughts away, but they stuck to her like a thick gum. She couldn't think of any other reason why he did it. He was just being loyal to the pack by not allowing an alpha mistreat a fellow pack member.
