The Price of the Lost (Part 4)
One day, as usual, the morning arrived, and the beggar noticed that Billy was not by his side. At that moment, he panicked, shouting and making frantic movements, looking around to find the kitten.
- Pss-pss, pss-pss! But Billy was nowhere to bes een. The beggar ran breathlessly through the streets, desperately searching. Then, suddenly, he heard a loud meow. He rushed towards the sound and saw the cruel shopkeeper holding Billy by the neck, trying to strangle him. Seeing Billy struggling, gasping for air, and clawing to break free, the beggar leaped at the shopkeeper, biting his hand fiercely.
The shopkeeper let go of Billy and shouted:
- What are you doing, you brat? You made my hand bleed!
- I did the right thing! You were trying to strangle my cat!
- You street rat, you can՝t even take care of yourself, let alone a cat! The shopkeeper said angrily and tried to attack Billy again.
