On its way to Watson Town, it turned out that the train encountered an incident when it passed through a tunnel. A lunatic went mad, set fire to the place, and killed everyone on board.
No matter how it happened, the perpetrator's goal was achieved—no one on the train survived.
"We need to find the arsonist, or this fate might repeat itself," Ron muttered.
If they couldn't stop the arsonist, if the fire from that day were to ignite again, the train they were currently on would surely meet the same tragic end—everyone would die.
At that point, even if they managed to kill every last monster, it wouldn't mean anything.
