Chapter 13 - chapter 7

Ivory's POV:

As I sat with April, I felt the cheerful version of her slowly resurfacing. We talked and caught up on the time we'd missed, sharing stories and laughter. As we conversed, I noticed her shaky hand from earlier begin to calm, but her eyes told a different story. They looked incredibly sad, void of the usual warmth and sparkle that I was accustomed to seeing in them. Despite her cheerful laughter, I could sense her unease beneath the surface.

I found myself wondering what could be wrong. Had she had a bad dream? Was something bothering her? I couldn't shake off the feeling that something was off, In the words of my grandma, something was somehow somewhere not right because she kept sighing from time to time but I didn't want to push her or make her uncomfortable. Maybe with time, she'd open up to me and share what was on her mind. I thought to myself, "I sure knew that something somewhere was wrong somehow," but I kept my tone light and non-intrusive.

What bothered me, though, was that I felt hurt because I thought we were close enough to share secrets and concerns. Her being secretive about whatever was troubling her made me feel a bit left out. Nonetheless, I prioritized her comfort and chose not to pry, hoping that she'd eventually feel ready to talk to me about what was going on. I maintained a supportive demeanor, letting her know that I was there for her whenever she was ready to open up.

Hey dearies, I missed you all I'm so sorry for not regularly updating, trust me it's not my fault, It's due to some circumstances and the fact that I'm a young student, I'm having my final exams soon and I have to prepare for it so bear with me,at least for now, anneyoung guys ❤️😘🌺.

April's POV:

I knew exactly what Ivory's expression meant - doubt and disappointment. She wanted to ask me questions, but her hesitation was palpable. I knew she didn't ask any question because she didn't want to make me uncomfortable.I decided to ease the tension by laughing and responding lightheartedly to everything she said. Gradually, the atmosphere began to relax and I felt more comfortable.

Hmmm, I was so lucky to have her but me, I was just a burden to her , I was like a parasite while she was the host, As I let out a sigh, Ivory's gaze turned suspicious. "Why are you sighing like an old woman?" she joked. "Haven't you heard that sighing brings bad luck?" Her tone was playful, but her eyes sparkled with amusement. "Look at you, dressing all old and plain. You don't do makeup or wear designers. I won't accept this act in my house!" Her expression turned serious, and we both paused, the silence between us growing thicker.

I wondered if she was truly angry, but before I could dwell on it, Ivory burst into loud laughter. "You don't know how to joke, do you?" she teased, her eyes shining with mirth. She pulled me from my seat, and we ran up the stairs together, the memories of our teenage days flooding back. In that short moment, the awkwardness dissipated, replaced by a carefree atmosphere.

Inside Ivory's room, she led me to a cluttered stand with books and dusty boxes. "Ewww," I said, wrinkling my nose. "Why is this part of your room so messy, while the rest is spotless?" She looked at me with a mischievous smile playing on her lips,Ivory's smile hinted at secrets. She pushed the boxes to the left and right, tapping each lightly on the top. And then, something magical happened - a bright line shone from behind, and the stand parted into two.
