Chapter 106 - A Not So Ideal Situation

It's been a few weeks since Ashly was brought inside of Maiven. Ashly was just recently released from the hospital, and she paid the bill with the amount that Daniel and Amir gave them. The doctors were surprised by her quick recovery and all, but Ashly didn't speak with them about it.

It's still a cold day, but Ashly feel very lonely, there is no one she can speak to. Ashly is sitting down on a bench feeling sad, the one person who cared for her is dead. Ashly looks around her, the street is not too busy, but it's too much for her liking.

Ashly finally has all the money that she believes will make her life easy for a while. The problem is that she just lost someone in exchange. It's quite funny to her when she thinks about it moreover.

Ashly looks around her surroundings again. "Is this the ideal situation that I've always wanted?" Ashly asks herself, there is absolutely no one who can stop her now. She is alone, and she has more money that she ever could of imagined or ask for.

She finally has what she wanted, and now that she does have it. It feels uninteresting and plain out disappointing. Ashly hadn't thought much other than that, she is here, but she has no idea of where to go next. Maybe she should go were Amir and Daniel are, that's probably her best option.

There is no other place she could go to, and she has no goals either. Maybe they could give her advice, and an idea that she could follow. Most of her life she just followed others instructions. Even the ones she never liked, Lucas had lead her everywhere when they left.

Not once had she really done her own thing, and instead she followed Lucas. Ashly looks down, and now that she has the money, she understands something. The only reason to why she did these things was because she has expectations. That Lucas would guide her in her new life, and that she never thought about what she would do with the money.

Lucas was going to plan out everything, and that he would accomplish his dreams. Ashly knew that he would go out of his way to make sure to help her out in some way. He was going to give her options that she never thought of. He was going to make sure that she was sure in what goals she would have in the future.

Lucas is dead and he never accomplished his goals, this means that she should also not accomplish any. It would be extremely selfish of her to do so when Lucas sacrificed so much, and ended up in a dead end.

Wait! Maybe just maybe, Ashly can just accomplish his goals for him. Yeah that makes sense, this could be some form of way to apologize to Lucas who isn't here anymore.

That's it! Her goal would be to finish Lucas's goal, and once she does it, she will have closure. She will let Lucas rest knowing that she did what he couldn't. Of course she won't accomplish all as Lucas did want to meet them badly. She instead at best could just give them the money to buy back their farm, and that's what she will do.

Ashly stands up and she grabs the money, it seems that what they were given was a lot. She was able to fully pay out her expenses, but she doubts that the money is enough. If she was to give them the money would they have enough to buy the farm back?

It's worth a shot as Lucas did his best to save up money, and with the extra they were given. Ashly begins to walk away with the money, she is alone and she doesn't know what to do. She doesn't know where to start or how to even find his parents.

The frame of Lucas's family is with the rest of his belongings, but he trusted her with the money. This is a sick game that she doesn't want to play anymore or even wanted to participate. If there was a way for her to have done things differently, she would of taken it, but she can't.

There is no way she can go back, and change all the mistakes that she made in her life. Ashly continues to walk, and she enters a hospital that she was in for weeks. This is the hospital that is keeping Lucas's dead body in. She was lucky to also be put inside the same hospital as it made it seem like they are familiar to each other.

As Ashly steps closer to the reception. "Can I see Lucas the dead patient, I just want to see him one last time." Ashly says as she just wants one last chance to talk to him.

"Oh alright then I just need to see your identification. Family members are the only ones allowed to see him as per policy." The receptionist said to Ashly giving her a smile.

"Oh that's bad as I lost mines, but we both were brought in together. We both were traveling, and we know know each other well." Ashly says as she didn't want to leave.

"Oh I'm sorry for that inconvenience, but you need one, there's no exemption. This is a dead body we are speaking of, it's for security reasons." The receptionist says in an apologetic manner.

"You see there are many cases of robbery around dead bodies in this hospital, and many other horrible cases. It's for the safety of the deceased possessions, and I deeply hope you understand." She said to Ashly.

Ashly just nods. "I was very close to Lucas, and I just needed to see him one last time. It's been weeks or so since we got separated, and we never got this secluded from each other." Ashly lied to the receptionist.

"I can tell how sad you look, but the rules are the rules and I can't break them. Listen if you can bring in his parents then maybe I could make an exception for you dear." She said with an empathetic smile.

"Thanks you then." Ashly says as she turns around to leave, she knows she will never see him again. Ashly steps outside, and she is now back to square one, she is hopeless.

As she did step outside she saw that man again Edwin approach her. "You're part of one of those dangerous gangs aren't you? I overheard a conversation that gave a description of you, there was even a sketch." Edwin said to Ashly.

Ashly looks at him with skepticism. "How do you know, and why did you cover for me back there? If you knew then why did you let me go, wasn't that risky as I am a criminal?" Ashly asked.

"Oh that was way later after you were brought inside the hospital actually. One of the gang leaders who I believe you worked under ratted you out. We interrogated him a lot, and we forced him to say a lot of things. He told us the locations of their base, and how many memebers he had left." Edwin says as he scratches his neck, this was a bit awkward.

"He was quick to rat out everyone, and that was surprising to everyone. He didn't look like that type to do so, but I guess he is a bad leader." Edwin says and Ashly rolls her eyes.

Ashly always knew that Gael was a power hungry dick who wanted to live the life of a king. He wanted to have a life without repercussions, and wanted to feel like he owned the world.

"He even gave them all a description of you, your name, and rough estimated age. He even helped them make the sketch as well, and for other memebers." Edwin says with a smile.

"I bet it was a joyride for all of you people when he gave you all locations. He sure made your jobs much easier." Ashly says as she felt like she was right to hate Gael.

"Well you are right, I have a reason as to why I'm letting you go. I also made sure to not reveal your real identity to anyone else who came by. My reason was because you saved my daughters life, and she was very grateful." Edwin says with a soft expression.

"Yes I know it sounds very unprofessional of me to let you go because of that, but may I ask, were you forced to work for them as when we check you were the only female in either gang?" Edwin asked.

"Well they did kidnap me when I was a child, and they did raise me. I had a terrible life, but I managed with whatever was in my hands." Ashly says.

"Oh I'm sorry to hear, and I'm sorry for making you talk about your tragic past. I can understand why you didn't leave as most of these men were poor and undocumented." Edwin says.

"Well I had the least important job out of everyone, and it didn't pay well. I was never really important, and I almost never killed before." Ashly said to Edwin, he seems like a decent man.

Isabella then appears and approaches Ashly. "Thank you for saving my life back there, but where is the other person?" Isabella asked as she looked around. Ashly looks away looking a bit sad.

"Oh he isn't here today because he is busy alright, he can't be here." Edwin said as he looked at Ashly asking for help.

"Lucas, that guy you're speaking of isn't here, and he probably won't come back ever. Lucas isn't going to see you, but if he did, he would of been glad to see you again." Ashly takes a deep breath. "He is dead, but don't feel too sad as you didn't know that." She says trying to reassure Isabella.

"Oh I'm sorry about that, and it would of been nice to see him again. He seemed like a very nice person so I just wanted to see him you know." Isabella said as she lowers her head.

"You're right about him being a nice man, he shouldn't have died." Ashly said and she looks up at Edwin. "Thanks for saving me back there."

"You're definitely a good person as my daughter couldn't stop talking about you." Edwin then lifts Isabella.

"You're a kind and beautiful lady, and I really wish I could be as brave as you." Isabella says as she looks at Ashly with a smile.

"Well I hope you end up a better person than I ever could. I think you have what it takes to accomplish that dream of yours." Ashly says as she pets the girl.

"Stay safe out there, and I wish you the best of luck." Edwin says as he begins to leave with his daughter.

"Thank you, and I hope that you and your daughter grow in a great environment." Ashly said as she left, she doesn't know what do to now. They both honestly believe that she is a good person who was forced to do these kind of things.

She never thought that she would be seen as a good person, but she did a good act. They believed that she did it because she was good, but she only did it because of Lucas. She continues to walk away, and she decides to ask for help. Wait! She can't as there is a possibility the people will recognize her, and call the SDA on her.

That's very funny as she can't accomplish Lucas's dream anymore. Ashly decides to buy the newspaper of today, and it's about her old gang leader Gael. It said that he was going to be executed soon, but the other leader has yet to have been found. Ashly smiles as Gael will be scared shitless until his last breath.
