"Just so you know, we will also assist in your education as well," Morticia added.
"mmm figured as such." Orette nodded and turned to Ivan. "Umm, but more importantly I wanted to ask about my parents. How are they? Do they know about this?"
Ivan paused for a second or two before saying, "Your parents are alright, they don't know about your disappearance since I had ensured that you were away on a trip to a science fair."
"And they just believed you?"
"Something like that."
Orette looked at Ivan with suspicion. She then faced Morticia and asked about the children in her school who were aware of the syrium. Not to her surprise, Ivan answered her.
"After the blood test, we each gave a student a gift for their gratitude."
Orette placed a finger on her forehead, attempting to recall something.
"The rings and the watches." Ivan reminded her.
"Oh yeah." Orette slammed her hands. "They were really bragging about those."
"Those gifts contain a small sample of BV56."
Again. A long pause. Orette and Mortica both looked at Ivan with extreme shock.
"Wow." Orette was in disbelief.
"IVAN!" Mortica snaps at him. "Are you out of your mind!?"
Ivan avoids her gaze and continues, "I said 'small sample'. Enough for them to forget whatever happened in the last two weeks."
"Still, you've gone too far!" Morticia didn't stop her complaining. "Do you have any idea what those drugs are capable of?"
"I don't believe he does," Orette answered her without fear. "If he did, he wouldn't be dumb enough to use it in the first place."
With anger flaming in his veins, Ivan meets Orette's gaze and sees something pathetic yet quite alarming. A pair of blue eyes was staring at him like daggers, trying to bleed his insecurities, his failure, his mistake.
While Orette is standing on both her feet, smiling at Ivan as he is being scolded by Morticia, someone's phone rang.
"It's mine." Ivan picked up his crooked cell phone from his pocket. The model looked like it was made in the early 2000's. "It's Lorenzo."
"Put it on speaker." Morticia orders him.
"... what?" Ivan blankly stares at her.
"Speaker Ivan. Put your phone on speaker."
Ivan just stares at her blankly again. His confusion was hidden under his cold, malicious face, which is why he turned to Orette, who said.
"She said to put it_ oh god! There isn't a function like that on his phone," Orette said to Mortica.
"What are you talking about? He_" Mortica giving one good look to Ivan's cell phone. "Seriously." She slaps her forehead and admits defeat.
Orette, hopelessly witnessing this scene, says, "Just pick up the phone."
"That was just what I was going to do, but you guys won't let me_"
"Pick. It. Up." Mortica glares at him with her lilac eyes.
Ivan deliberately shows her as he picks up the call and answers, "What is it?"
"Why weren't you answering my phone?" Lorenzo speaks in his accent.
"Just a few interuptions" Ivan replied to him.
"I see. I hope it's taken care of. How long will you and Morticia be out?"
"Not too long, we will be back in_" Ivan aims to check his watch. "In two minutes."
"Good, because I think these kids need their friends."
"Why do you propose that?"
"Umm...Let's say they don't prefer my company"
"HELL WE DON'T"
Someone's voice interferes with Lorenzo's.
"I'm guessing that's the one with Tyrant."
"Yeah. It's good how she's resisting, isn't it? Not even your collars can put a stop to her"
"It's not a good thing, my friend." Ivan rubs his forehead.
"Oh! By the way, is Morticia with you?"
"Yes", Ivan faces Mortica, who was staring at him with lilac that didn't fade, yet. "She is with me"
"Tell her pupil, the purple eyes, he vomited just now, so tell her to come quickly, since I can't handle this situation"
"Got it, I'll send her the word".
Ivan ends his call.
"Lorenzo's words, 'Tell her pupil, the purple eyes, he vomited just now'."
"Oh my god!" In a second, Mortica's anger all went in drain and was replaced by worry. "Is he okay? We have to go back."
"Of course, we should" Orette grabs the hand of Mortica, who was shaking from panic. "He must be having trouble with them. They aren't really easy to get along with."
"For once, I agree with you." Ivan moves towards the dense forest. "You two should go back and wait in H.Q."
"And you?" Orette asked him with a sense of irritation, "Aren't you going to come with us, or is there something far ahead that we should be aware of?"
Ivan pauses for a second before revealing, "Domain expansion." Two words and that's just it. After that, he didn't look back and got moving forward.
"Domain expansion." Orette whispered like a soft breeze, "What does that mean?"
"He's going to fight them."
"What?" Orette turned to face Mortica, who was now calm as she was opening a portal.
"There are small cracks of the void far ahead; he is going to stop whatever is coming from it."
"You mean like an uname portal that summons monsters like you guys were explaining before?"
"Yes", Mortica turns back from her portal, "Come on now, let's go. I promise we will answer all your questions."
