She looked at him for a moment, then spoke softly.
"I'm Anya."
Liam nodded once. "Liam."
There was a brief pause between them, not awkward, just quiet. Then she spoke again, her voice lower this time, more careful.
"There's one more thing I want you to do for me… can you get me out of here when you're done?"
Liam tilted his head slightly, studying her face for a second. There was something there now that wasn't before. Not attitude, not irritation. Something deeper. He didn't ask questions. He didn't care enough to dig into it.
After a few seconds, he nodded casually.
"Okay."
Simple.
Her reaction wasn't.
Her lips parted slightly, then curved into a smile that came too fast, too real. It caught Liam off guard. He hadn't expected that kind of reaction from such a simple answer. He didn't understand why she wanted out so badly, but like everything else, it wasn't his concern.
