Life As the Vampire God Chapter 22 - Bezmic
I watched Bezmic wave his hand out in a grandiose arc. A small glowing black ball instantly appeared then disappeared almost as quickly as it had appeared only this time instead of nothingness, floating in the air was a small cage filled with appropriately three small animals about the size of three-month-old kittens. Well, I was half right, upon closer inspection they actually looked like tiny tiger cubs with wings, five tails each, and did I mention that they were small!?
I couldn't help myself, "what!" I shouted, "You're going to kill me with those?" I laughed.
Bezmic silently answered my taunt by opening the cage and releasing the small cubs. One by one they flew out of their former floating containment cell. They appeared to be enjoying their newly found freedom.
Curious but not impressed by Bezmic's circus act, I murmured aloud, "um, kill the tiny beasts." I really didn't know what else to do. My voice carried over to my army and they had already started to take their positions. Always dependable, Joseph was flying above the Army. I have never once regretted making him my first general.
Bezmic shouted from his lofty height above the ground. "You think that's all I've got?" He grinned. Not a comforting sight. He added, "I'm now formally allied with Sermoff!" I watched while his entire body turned green and the three tiger cubs instantly grew to the size of Skyscrapers emanating a super light green glow. The glowing tigers crashed down on the city below destroying buildings and sending people flying in all directions.
Joseph's order, "attack" could be heard above all the chaos. I was amazed. The obedient Army charged at the three ginormous tigers.
I asked no one in particular, "where is Mr. Great?"
Lucifer responded, "over there, next to Bezmic."
I looked harder at Bezmic. I smiled. Floating undetected behind Bezmic was Mr. Great. I watched him took his spear, plunged it deep into Bezmic's back and flung the impaled enemy directly towards me. I quickly hardened my body by turning it back into metal clad skin with a cool black and red vampire design. I shouted, "War! Take out the tigons!"
In response, War appeared in the sky and zeroed in on the middle tigon. He slammed down into the tiger without any warning, and it collapsed. Before it could rise upright, a huge chunk of metal flew into War's hands. He tried to plunge it into the raging tiger's head, but the beast managed to shake War off and starting shooting flames in all directions hoping to hit War and anything else. Miraculously, War dodged all of the flames.
Constructs shouted to me, "I'll guard the Power Core."
I nodded and mouthed, "go!" He disappeared.
Bezmic, unfortunately caught himself! Death Dealer swooped in from the wreckage and shot a volley of energy blasts at Bezmic. His head glowed orange, he looked like a pumpkin head. Seconds before the energy reached him for the final kill, he put up a blue shield. The blasts did hit their mark but there was zero damage.
I leaned in toward Lucifer, but my eyes never left Bezmic and told him, "I believe each color represents an ability."
Lucifer nodded. "That would make sense."
Bezmic screamed in order to be heard, "Tigons, spread out!" The end tigons took off upward then rotated and slammed into the ground, destroying more buildings."
Joseph appeared next to me. "My lord, our troops aren't causing much damage to our enemies. May I call in the Cavalry."
Bezmic interjected himself with a cavalier and insincere, "good luck to you now!" I swear, I could hear a witch's cackle erupt from him.
"What?" That was all I could manage.
No more cackling, instead an eardrum splitting command erupted out of Bezmic's mouth.
"SERMOFF! ATTACK NOW!"
Lucifer and I watched greenish portals open everywhere, surrounding the entire city!
"Sermoff's army is coming," Lucifer murmured. "We may not actually survive this."
