That evening, Cain walked into Fu Ling's room with a set of clothes.
"Get ready. We're going out."
Fu Ling received the clothes and threw them on the bed.
"Do you ever sleep? Or rest? Or did you already have enough of that?"
"I rest."
Fu Ling had a look of enlightenment on his face
"Ohh. Where's you room then? And how come I've never seen you sleep."
Cain paused slightly then turned around.
"Be quick or we'll be late."
Fu Ling looked at his back inquisitively. Why did it feel to him like Cain was fleeing?
He shrugged and went to bath then dressed up. Cain was already waiting for him. He climbed into the carriage and sat beside Cain who acted as though he had decided to take a vow of silence.
After a long ride, the carriage rolled to a halt.
