Fu Ling kept a close watch on Gu Yunnain but he could only do so much and the sleepless nights were taking a toll on him.
He went to the bathroom to wash his face without turning on the lights and happened to hear a low click.
The bathroom door was open so he could clearly see the situation outside. A silhouetted figure moved carefully around the room and seemed to be groping for something.
Fu Ling took out his phone and turned on the recording function. The person was obviously nervous and almost knocked over a tray but managed to hold it steady at the last minute.
After taking a deep breath, the person took out something from their pocket and Fu Ling stepped out of the bathroom turning on the light by the way.
The harsh white light caused temporary blindness for a second but he quickly adjusted.
"What are you doing here?"
Jiang Yiran was so startled the vial in her hand fell down with a crash. She bent down to pick it up but suddenly came to her senses and stiffly turned.
Fu Ling was looking at her with coldness in his eyes and she suddenly felt like crying. When she went to see Fu Haoming at the station he hinted she does something to Gu Yunnain and maybe Fu Ling's affection would be returned to her.
She wasn't stupid she knew clearly that she was being used but she couldn't help but hold out hope. She didn't want to believe he wouldn't be moved by her but the look in his eyes made her understand she couldn't keep lying to herself.
She gave up trying to explain herself. She kept deceiving herself into thinking Fu Ling couldn't possibly like Gu Yunnain but now she knew that because of this act, if this wasn't a society ruled by law she might not make it out of this ward alive.
However she would be honest with herself. If not for being caught by Fu Ling, she has no feelings of regret in her heart. She hated Gu Yunnain for taking away what should have been hers. If she got a chance in the future, she would not hesitate to attack Gu Yunnain. Even if she couldn't get Fu Ling, she wouldn't watch him live happily with someone else. But now she was caught red handed and there was no way she would be able to escape.
Fu Ling watch her come to some kind of resolution and then give up. He called the bodyguards in to restrain her and picked up the broken bottle to look at the label.
His eyes narrowed on the words succinylcholine chlorine injection. A muscle relaxant? Fu Ling worked through various possibilities in his mind and could basically guess their purpose.
Giving this to a comatose person is quite hateful. But it's also an effective way of dealing with someone.
"Under the effect of this drug, all muscles are paralyzed and the patient stops breathing. Silent hypoxia occurs and since they're already unconscious, they'll be no distress signs unless their being closely monitored. In about three to six minutes the brain cells begin to die, in ten plus minutes brain death or persistent vegetative state may occur. It mimics natural deterioration of the brain and with succinylcholine being broken down quickly into chlorine and succinic acid, by the time of testing it may be gone so there's no obvious foul play.
I have to say, if I wasn't here today and the bodyguards had really been bribed by you then Gu Yunnain might not have been able to wake up again. It's an ingenious plan. Unfortunately this plan is being used against someone even I dare not touch. Miss Jiang, these are what will happen to a comatose person. Do you want to experience what it's like for a normal person to be injected with succinylcholine?"
Jiang Yiran tried to go backwards but was blocked by the bodyguards and fell heavily to the ground.
Fu Ling approached her step by step and smiled at the sight of her retreating with horror in her eyes.
Jiang Yiran felt like her previous cognition of Fu Ling was overturned at this moment. He had murderous intentions towards her before but she didn't feel as terrified as she did now. She dared to deliver the drug so naturally she knew what it could do.
If he really injected her she didn't think she would be able to bear it. Just the thought of being conscious but not being able to talk, move or even breathe was enough to drive her crazy not to mention actually experiencing it herself.
She kept retreating until her back hit the wall and her face was wet with tears.
"Please please I beg you. Fu Ling for the sake of the past, for the sake of our past relationship I promise not to ever think of doing something like this again" At the same time she couldn't help but hate Gu Yunnain even more in her heart. It was all because of him that Fu Ling became this unrecognizable person now.
Fu Ling could guess her thoughts with just one look but he wasn't planning on getting his hands dirty. If he took revenge now then she would not only be a perpetrator but a victim as well and he didn't want that. There are various way to deal with people in prison. He could wait until after she was locked up.
"Take Miss Jiang to the station and file a case. You can also take this bottle as evidence"
The bodyguards were slightly relieved when they heard that. They were ordinary people and had normal three views. Besides Gu Yunnain wasn't related to them in any way so although they were loyal, they thought it was too much for Fu Ling to take things into his own hands. Now it seems he was just doing it to scare the lady.
One of them took a glove and picked up the glass bottles for the floor into a Ziploc bag and they escorted Jiang Yiran to the police station.
Jiang Yiran didn't follow their train of thought and as was if being granted amnesty she followed them honestly.
