CHAPTER 82
Robert let out a loud laugh. "I also gave you my time, King. I let you detect my every move," he said, laughing even harder, his eyes glistening as if on the verge of tears. "You didn't see me. As much as I served you, you only watched me try to please you. All the time."
Grace's hand twitched. "No one asked you to serve, Robert. You were first with my father, and then you willingly chose to serve me."
Commander Robert clenched his fist. "Very well, King Quicke. Why don't you tell them what you do behind closed doors? Why you refuse to share a bed with your betrothed?"
Parkston adjusted his collar and moved back into the crowd.
The people's eyes burned with curiosity.
Grace's eyes still flickered with flame as she released a small, knowing smirk.
Robert steadied his gaze, his dagger still clenched tightly in his hand. "Go ahead and tell them." He paused, mocking, "King Quicke."
