Hae-seong was still on one knee, bleeding into the stones.
Jin looked at him and knew that it had to end now. Not in a minute. Not after another round. Now, while the man was hurt and shaken and didn't understand what had happened to him. If Jin gave him time to heal, to think, to pull himself back together, he wasn't sure he would get another chance.
He shifted his weight and reached for the feeling again.
It wasn't there anymore.
His hands still felt strange. Still heavy, still full of something. But when he tried to close his fingers around it the way he had a moment ago, when he tried to swing, there was nothing to swing. The heaviness slid away from him like water through his fingers. He tried again, with the same result. It was like reaching for a word he knew he knew and couldn't remember.
He had done it once. He had no idea how.
Jin let out a long, tired breath.
"Great," he muttered. "I just hope this isn't as hard to figure out as the last one."
