Gabriel Castle: (A few weeks ago:)
"Mmm..." A grunt escaped his lips as felt a breeze of cold air passing by. "Hmmm..." Forcing him to open his green eyes.
The first thing he saw was a ceiling, a disgusting looking ceiling that seemed to be about to collapse. Wait... Causing him to realize that something was off. Where the hell am I?! He asked himself as he immediately sat up to look around. He was wearing his usual outfit composed of black cargo pants, a black pullover hoodie, black tactical boots and his leather long trench coat that was also black.
When did I... Shit... There was something really off, he doesn't remember falling asleep and he certainly remembered that he was in his RV with no building in sight. Oh shit... The thought of his RV made Gabriel realize something awful.
So he immediately stood up to look around. It looks like he was inside of a bedroom that belonged to a kid or something. "Fuck!" It did belong to a kid, because there was the dead body of a child right on top of a bed behind him. "Just fuck..." He immediately looked away, because the dead kid couldn't be older than ten and he clearly died recently because his body seemed to have only begun to decompose.
Gabriel immediately rushed towards the door, and closed it behind him. Taking a deep breath as soon as he was out of that room. Once he exhaled the air, he decided to look around. It was obvious that he was on the second floor of a house and there were two other doors there. One for another bedroom and another for the bathroom. Neither being one that he wants to go considering the already unpleasant surprise that he found in the door behind him. Thankfully, there was also a set of stairs on his right, which is where he decided to go.
However, as he was about to take his first step. He heard a noise coming from downstairs. The noise sounded like something being dragged, indicating that there was someone or something downstairs.
Gabriel immediately went for his USP Tactical, only to realize that his thigh holster was empty. Dammit, no gun or knife. He began to inspect himself in search of anything useful but unfortunately his weapons and equipment were gone, leaving him completely unarmed.
As soon as he finished expecting himself to see check for anything useful. He took a good look at the floor below, where a nicely decorated living room in weird vintage style could be seen. But then his attention was shifted towards a strange looking figure entering the living room, with Gabriel carefully standing out of sight to keep himself hidden. His instant assumption is that whoever was downstairs was probably brought there by whoever was downstairs.
But as soon as the individual appeared in his line of sight, Gabriel had the unfortunate revelation that it wasn't a person. Although it certainly looked humanoid enough from afar, it had crimson red-skin and it's entire body seemed to be bloated, covered in bubbles and a fungi-like flesh, having large and heavy looking frame but what really made it grotesque was the face, with only one eye able to open while the other was covered with a strange looking tumor, no existing nose at all, and a gaping hole where a mouth should be. An Abominable, great, just what I fucking needed...
Abominable is the nickname that he gave to that kind of creature. It was basically what happens when a human is imprinted by the Bloodborne, being fated to become a twisted and misshapen creature for the rest of their lives. It's even uglier than the last one... Gabriel only had the misfortune of encountering two of them before but that one is certainly the ugliest one that he saw so far.
This one seemed calmer though, but I ain't taking any risks. While the Bloodborne are animalistic creatures. The Abominable are capable of rational thinking although the transformation left them degraded into a child-like state. Okay... Maybe I can get out through the window of one of the windows of the- He began to ponder about his next course of action as he slowly stepped away from the stairs in order to make his way back to the room which he came from. Only to hear the creaking sound of a door opening behind him.
A sigh escaped his lips as he turned around to see it. Standing in the doorway of the bathroom, there was another Abominable. That one had an emaciated frame and had holes all over it's body, with joints and bones poking out in random places, giving it a mutilated, disfigured look. Their feet appear to be stubs and their legs are very thin. But just like the one downstairs, that one stood out because of it's grotesque face, or a lack thereof since instead of facial features, instead there was a large gaping hole in the head. Like someone blasted it with a shotgun at point blank.
Preparing himself for an attack, Gabriel stood still in anticipation. But thankfully, it didn't seem to notice or at least acknowledge that he was there. After just a second, it turned to the right and began to slowly walk towards the room where Gabriel woke up, twitching at each step.
Not wanting to take any unnecessary risks, he decided to see if there was a window that he could use to get out in the other room. So he quietly moved towards the door opposite to the one where the Abominable entered. Touching the door knob, he took a look behind him to see where it was. Widening his green eyes when he saw what it was doing inside that room.
The emaciated Abominable was sitting on top of the bed, cradling the dead body of that little boy that Gabriel saw earlier. It was murmuring something in deep undecipherable voices to the dead body while it gently caressed his head with it's deformed hand.
That scene was enough to make Gabriel rush inside the room in shock. Closing the door behind him and resisting an urge to grunt in response. He was having some very unpleasant ideas of what exactly happened to these people and he desperately did not want to think about it. That ended up not being a possibility, because the first thing he noticed as soon as he entered the room was some photos hanging on the wall opposite to the door. Oh man... Which confirmed his suspicion. They were all family photos, showcasing a father, mother and son.
At least the kid was spared. That was all he wanted to think about at the moment.
A sound coming from the other side of the door snapped him out of it, making him immediately search for an exit. Thankfully, there was a window right next to the family photos. So he rushed towards it as quickly as possible, passing by a bed that was covered in something that smelled like oil. But he had no time to investigate, instead, he made his way to open the window.
Upon looking outside, he realized that he was in some kind of farm. That looks like the scenery of a hillbilly horror movie. Outside that window, there was a large dead field with the bonus of a creepy scarecrow. I would probably worry about that thing coming to life a few years ago, now I would happily take that over the monsters. That was an ironic thought that came through his mind as he prepared to get out of that house through the window.
He passed through and hung on the ledge to try to make a safe landing. One, two, th-. However, when he was about to let go of it, he heard a noise coming from inside and before he had time to react. "Ah!" Something grabbed his arm and pulled him back inside violently.
"Oh shit!" The lanky Abominable somehow noticed his presence and dragged Gabriel back into the room. "Mrr!" The creature tried to put it's hands on him while letting out a shriek in a high-pitched feminine voice. "Get off!" His upper body was inside while his lower body was out the window. With him desperately trying to push it away with his arms while his legs hung outside.
"Rrrr!" The Abominable was even more bizarre up close, with it's disgusting thin hands gripping his forearm and bicep tightly while twitching and shrieking loudly. "Nnnh!" Another grunt escaped his lips when he looked through the hole where it's head is supposed to be, that the other Abominable just got upstairs and noticed his presence. "HELL NO!" In an act of pure desperation, Gabriel ended up carving his teeth on the emaciated arm of the creature that was grabbing on to him.
It let out a very loud and disturbing shriek, indicating that the bite did cause it pain. Allowing him to yank his arm off of it's grip and grab on to it's other arm and using his body weight to pull it out the window. With it being smart enough to put it's hand on the wall to stop them from falling out while still grabbing on to Gabriel's forearm with it's other hand. Until Gabriel reached out with his other hand and grabbed it's semi-humanoid hand by what was supposed to be it's index finger. As soon as he managed to grab on to it completely, he pulled it with all his might.
Breaking it's finger and causing the creature to lose it's grip and dropping him. The fall wasn't that high, so Gabriel was able to land safely on the dead grass below him. Once he was out of that house, he immediately ran to the left in order to reach the front of the house with a miniscule hope that his RV was somewhere to be found. A hope that died in just a few steps because upon reaching the front of the house, all he saw was a dead grass yard and a large but run down barn.
Wait? Before he could run to get as far away from the Abominables as possible, he realized something in that bard. Is that... The "something" was hanging on a pulley right in front of the hayloft. My backpack?! After taking a good look, he realized that it was his personal backpack. Okay, that confirms that some motherfucker actually stole my car but why the fuck did the- His thought process was interrupted when he heard the front door of the house opening.
It turns out that the male, or at least he assumes that is male, Abominable opened the door. With it's one eye locking on him with the murderous intent of a cuckhold that just caught his wife having an affair. A situation that Gabriel would happily pick over that one any day.
Simultaneously, Gabriel ran towards the barn in order to try to retrieve his backpack while the male Abominable began to chase after him. It did in an awkward and labored fashion that indicated visible pain since there was a large tumor on it's left leg, but that wasn't a reason to take any risk. So he ran as fast as could, passing through the main door and making his way inside.
The interior was just as damaged as the outside, the back of the barn seemed to have collapsed a while ago. But that wasn't important, what was important is that he could climb on the debris to reach the upper part of the barn. The male Abominable entered the barn as well and continued to chase after Gabriel, who was carefully stepping on the collapse structure to climb up.
After awkwardly and labored steps towards him, the Abominable reached the debris of the collapsed wall. Only to trip and cut itself on the rotten hood that was on the ground. "Ahh..." A foul smell coming out of the cut that just opened in the tumor that was on it's leg. With very disgusting looking puss coming out of it mixed with a strange dark liquid.
Gabriel looked away and focused on climbing to the upper floor. Once he was up, he quickly rushed towards the hayloft in order to retrieve his backpack. It takes him less than ten seconds for him to reach the back pack. "Yes!" He cheered in pure joy when he noticed two items strapped to each side of the back pack. His G36K and his Bastard Sword.
Immediately grabbing his backpack, he realized that the female Abominable came out of the house and began to rush towards the barn. Getting to one knee, Gabriel was about to reach for the assault rifle, only to stop midway and instead reach for the sword, pulling it out of a custom made scabbard that he himself made.
The sword was ninety-six centimeters long with a sixty-seven centimeters fullered blade designed to be lightweight while maintaining its structural stability. Having a bit of a fantastical design with curling quillons and an etched pommel inlaid with blue epoxy. The grip is black leather over solid steel with a spiral of braided wire held between two risers. But what really stood out about the sword was the fact that the blade had an unnatural black color with strange looking red cracks that flashed, almost resembling lightning..
He placed the backpack on his back and slowly moved as he watched the two creatures from above. With the female Abominable rushing towards the male one, with some semblance of humanity left on those pathetic creatures only reminded Gabriel of the tragic fate that these two had to endure. Did the kid die before the Bloodborn got to them, or did they kill the kid to spare him? That was the conclusion that he ended up achieving by watching the clues. Either way, it doesn't really matter, all that matters is that someone needs to put them out of their misery. So he made his way below once again with the sword in his right hand.
The male Abominable was on the floor, with a pool of puss and that strange dark liquid that he assumed to be some kind of blood. The female Abominable was near it, touching it's head affectionately in an attempt to comfort it since it was in visible pain. That sight tells all that there is to be known about these creatures.
The moment his feet touched the floor, Gabriel approached the two creatures with no fear. They moved their deformed heads to look at him and all he could offer was words of comfort. "Haec sit tibi liberatio." Those were his last words, before he unceremoniously slashed the female Abominable upper body with the sword as it made an attempt to stand up. Cutting her in a diagonal fashion from her collar bone all the way to her lower rib.
The male Abominable made a pathetic wimp, clearly indicating his sadness. So Gabriel wasted no time in flipping the blade upside down and plating on the floor, stabbing it's head and killing it instantly.
Once both of them were dead, Gabriel let out a sigh and asked himself. How the hell did I end up here? That was the question that he wanted an answer for now that he was out of danger. Moving his head to look at the two monsters that he just killed, he had a desire to do something, even though it was beyond stupid.
xxxxxxxx
A desire that he ended up following through. "I can tell you people didn't deserve this fate, but at least you all can be together now."
The desire was to grab the poor kid and put him next to the two creatures that were obviously his parents. After taking a painfully closer look, he noticed that the kid had some marks on him that indicated that he was strangled to death, and if he had to take an educated guess, one of the parents killed him when they realized that the Bloodborn were coming for them. Considering what they were turned into, Gabriel can't exactly falter them and it probably spares the kid of nothing but an existence composed of suffering.
After doing that, he went back to the house to check the place for anything useful. "Fuck..." Gabriel cursed as he placed his backpack on top of a dinner table. I was watching Fist of Fury and eating a fried crow, then I heard some weird noise coming from outside and went to check with my G36... But I can't remember anything after I stepped outside of the RV. He was almost certain that he was knocked out and someone stole his car, but there is nothing on him. Why did they leave my stuff? Robbing his car and leaving him to monsters was understandable, but why leave his weapons behind. How and why did they drag me into the house anyway? Especially with two monsters inside.
Despite the situation, he was happy to at least have something to work with. So he inspected his backpack to see what it had inside. "Okay... Jackpot!" The first thing he found inside of the backpack was one of his handguns. His Heckler & Koch USP Tactical to be precise. He checked right away and saw that it was loaded, so he immediately placed it in his personal holster. There was also another full magazine inside, which gave him thirty bullets. As for the assault rifle, there was another STANAG magazine inside and three 40 mm grenades for the AG36 that was mounted to the G36.
Besides guns and ammunition, there were also few necessary items. A heavy-duty flashlight, a first aid kit, a survival bowie knife, a zippo lighter that had the image of a UFO and a water canteen. "Huh?" Alongside the necessary stuff, there was something that stood out inside of that backpack.
"What the..." There was some kind of handheld GPS device inside the backpack. In his curiosity, he ended up turning the device on and checking. It showed a map of his location, alongside a few landmarks around the area. "Hmm..." Alongside the GPS, there was a piece of paper in it as well.
A shadowed path, a downward bend,
Where whispers echo, grief's lament.
A forced descent, a weary plight,
No turning back, no guiding light.
The stones are cold, the air is thin,
A weight of sorrow, pressed within.
Each step a struggle, deep and vast,
A weary heart, a broken cast.
The tears they fall, like frosted rain,
Upon the dust, a barren plain.
A path of thorns, a winding trail,
Where shadows dance and demons wail.
No solace found, no gentle hand,
Just echoing steps across the land.
A destined fall, a bitter fate,
This downward path, a cruel estate.
The summit's gleam, a fading dream,
Replaced by anguish, a chilling stream.
The path descends, with heavy tread,
A weary soul, amongst the dead.
Though strength may fail, and hope may fade,
The path persists, its course is made.
A downward journey, dark and deep,
Where burdens rest, and sorrows sleep.
What the fuck is this? It was clearly someone's attempt at writing poetry, but he had no idea what the hell did that had to do with the situation that he was in other than a clear indication that whoever stole his RV is some kind of pretentious dickhead.
After seeing that, he decided to take another look at the GPS. Taking a closer look, he realized that it was actually tracking something and that something was probably either his RV or the pretentious dickhead that stole it. Either way, that is good enough for him. The idea of using it to track either down sounds like some kind of trap or someone playing a prank on him, but unfortunately, he doesn't have any better ideas at the moment.
A loud sigh escaped his lips once again, before he decided to put everything back on the backpack and put it on his back with the G36K and the bastard sword strapped to the left and right side of it.
Before leaving, he decided to inspect the house to see if there was anything useful in it. Like food and water, which wasn't unlikely since that kid hasn't been dead for long. So he made a very quick inspection on that house.
In the end, he was able to find some clean water and homemade canned food. But not much and it was clear that they were running out of supplies before this happened. Canned pork ribs, canned kidney beans and canned vegetable soup. Not much but much better than nothing. He also took some things from the bathroom, like a straight razor, a toothbrush and a towel. And just to be certain, he also took some tools, like a screwdriver, pliers and some dutch tape.
Once he was done gathering tools and supplies, he decided to leave that farm behind. But before he left, he went back to the barn one more time. He covered that family with a blanket that he got from the bedroom. Besides the supplies he also searched around the house for anything flammable that he could find, luckily, he managed to find some laundry products that could be used to start a fire. Which he did by setting that barn on fire with the family's bodies inside.
That was the closest thing to a funeral that he could give them under those unpleasant circumstances, but it was better than just leaving their bodies there to rot. As the barn slowly burned to the ground, Gabriel turned his back and made his way towards the location that the GPS was pointing towards.

(A few weeks later:)
Gabriel was standing in front of the back door of a building. Holding his sword with both of his hands as three Bloodborne approached him.
One of them got a little too close and had it's head slashed by Gabriel with a swift horizontal cut. Another one attempted to jump at him, but Gabriel side-stepped to the left, causing the Bloodborne to collide with the wall. The third one tried to attack him, but Gabriel threw a sidekick to it's torso that pushed backwards before he thrusted the sword into the one that collided with the car. Stabbing it's head right away, and as the one that he just kicked tried to charge at him again, he pulled the sword and delivered a vertical slash that cut the Bloodborne into two.
Once they were all put down, Gabriel searched around for more, but couldn't see any. So he made his way into the building, closing the door behind him right away. "Dammit..." He reached inside his coat's pocket in order to pull out the GPS, which was still tracking something that he was hoping to be his RV. It stopped in a very small town located in the middle of nowhere. His original plan was to check the place as soon as he arrived, but he was so tired that he decided to find a safe spot to take a nap and ended up waking up at nightfall. The moment he left the safe spot to begin his search, the Bloodborne appeared and although it was only three. He knew that there were more of them somewhere since they always walk in hordes. So he had to find a way out of there fast.
The building that he entered was some kind of electronic store, but there was nothing of interest inside. So he quickly made his way towards the other exit while looking at the GPS. It pointed towards the street right after the one on the other side of the door. This better be the end of his shit! Saying that he was beyond tired of this wild goose chase would be an understatement but since he had no other destination or plan, he ended up following wherever that GPS told him to go and getting by wherever he went. To be completely honest, he would have happily stopped if he actually found something worthwhile during this involuntary chase but he didn't.
The young man dressed in full black placed the GPS back on his coat's pocket before putting his backpack on the floor, where he sheathed his bastard sword and picked up his G36K. Putting the backpack on his back once again and holding his assault rifle in a Low Ready position.
Okay... One, two, three... As he was about to make his way out, he remembered something. Fuck... That group of idiots that are following me. A while ago, he realized that he was being followed and after doing some amateur reconnaissance, he came to the conclusion that they were harmless and decided to just let them follow him for now. Mostly out of pragmatic reasons as they could actually serve as a rear guard for him to make sure no monsters were actually following him either.
A grunt escaped his lips as he actually reached inside of his backpack and pulled out a notebook that he pre-wrote with something just in case with the letters as large as possible.
MONSTERS INCOMING!
So he front slung his assault rifle and pulled out his flashlight before stepping outside. Immediately using his flashlight to make a signal towards the direction where he last saw the glint of a binoculars. Holding the notebook above his head with the letters being as large as possible.
"Shit." Until he realized that a very large horde of Bloodborne was coming his way. As he could see several of them approaching from a distance. "I did my part." He tried to warn them, if it failed or not, it was not his problem. Immediately turning his back and placing the flashlight and notebook inside of his back and holding the G36K in a Low Ready position once again. There was only a limited window of time before the horde got there, so he had to check the spot on the GPS right now or else, he won't have time to get the hell out of there otherwise.
So he ran as quickly as he could throughout that ghost town that mysteriously had no dead bodies on sight despite the entire place being somewhat dilapidated. Which points out that it was like that even before the monsters appeared. Not really caring about sightseeing, all he did was look forward with his assault rifle ready to engage at the first sight of danger.
Thankfully, he had no trouble reaching the destination, which turned out to be a garage door. "What the fuck?" There was something written on the door with what appeared to be black painting.
YOUR PATH OF DESCENT HAS ONLY JUST BEGUN.
I WILL BE WATCHING YOU.
GABRIEL WHITE CASTLE.
Reading those words sent chills down his spine. Normally, he would just wave that off as someone messing with him but the moment he read his full name written there, he knew that there was something way more serious happening.
The sound of gunshots coming from behind him, immediately snapped him out of it. Remembering that the horde of Bloodborne was coming his way. So he quickly rushed to open the garage door, where a smile appeared on his face once he saw what was on the other side. "YES!" It was his RV, completely intact. Taking a step forward, his only priority was getting the hell out of there as quickly as possible.
"AAAAAAAAHHHHHHH!" A loud scream coming from a girl made him stop in his tracks. He assumes that it came from the blond girl from that group that is following him around.
They are not my problem and I will probably regret later... He told himself while making a face that practically screamed reluctance. Especially with the loud gunshots just getting closer and closer, indicating that the horde of Bloodborne were on their way. Just get in the RV and bounce... He kept telling himself internally.
...
...
...
"Ahhh..." Until he actually grunted and turned around.
xxxxxxxxxxxxxxx
"What happened?!" A woman with an eyepatch asked him as he entered his RV carrying the blond girl.
"Step on it, now!" He ordered the guy that looked like a classic gym bro after he quit doing roids. Thankfully, he obeyed him without fuss and immediately hit the gas to speed out of that garage and away from the creatures who were too distracted making a new Abominable.
Gabriel carried the girl towards his bed, placing her gently there. She seemed to be out cold after getting sucker punched in the face by a pathetic wimp that even had the nerve to beg for help after the shit he did.
Once she was comfortably laying on his soft and warm bed, he put his backpack down and took off his balaclava and felt the smell of his RV once again. It was an odd mixture of cheap soap, laundry detergent and expensive cologne. Although he really didn't like that smell, it was something that he admittedly grew used to.
"What happened to her?!" The eyepatch lady immediately moved to check on the girl. "Where's Chris?!"
"Chris happened to her and he's probably getting violated in every sense of the word by the monsters right now." Gabriel bluntly responded before he began to look around his room. All of his stuff seemed to be in place, clothes, books, electronics, plushies, furniture. So he turned around and went to check for the rest of the vehicle to make sure whoever took it didn't steal anything.
His food, utensils and snacks were still there. His Television, video game and pen drives that contained his movies, tv shows, cartoons, animes and music were all still there thankfully. His weapons trunk was also still there with his Ithaca Model 37, Mosin–Nagant and MAC-10 were all there, alongside his other pistols. Ammunition was all there as well.
After looking around a bit more, he confirmed that everything was there. So he finally sighed in relief and proceeded to take off his trench coat and place it on top of his couch. Then he took off his hoodie and immediately made his way to the fridge to grab something to drink. Choosing a sealed glass jar that was filled with grape juice. Picking up with his left hand and taking it to his couch where he sat down and happily gulped down the nice and cold juice.
Leaning back on his couch after enjoying the sweet taste. Ignoring his new guests completely as he did not want to deal with them before taking a shower.
